ATTENTION 80s MANIACS!
Spring is officially here and since that is our goal for release we wanted to provide an update on where development stands on 8MW 9X.
First what everyone reading should know is that this new game is essentially a doubling of the first game. Meaning, included within 9X is an upgraded version of the 8MW game, along with another 10 calendar years to run your fed through. There are also twice as many cards to collect and play with.
The themes you'll see running through this new stuff are obviously all 90s inspired. That means brand new characters, familiar characters in new gimmicks, new managers, new tag teams, new feuds, new matches, new skits, new mic spots and new merch to unlock.
Some super cool new features as well. A massive amount of record keeping, a checklist for your collecting, penalties for repeat segments, the ability to tweak PUSH/Wrestler Status up and down the roster and a TV ratings system so your fed can compete with the other CPU feds to name some.
So where we are today is that all that stuff above has been successfully built into the game. We're now in the process of adding some more upgrades that we found necessary in recent weeks.
Once those are installed there will be a final internal round of play testing. Shortly after we'll push out a beta version for a small group of users to play with. We'll take about 10 or so people who can provide good feedback and have them play the game for a bit while we work out any last minute kinks that will inevitably be uncovered through this testing.
The final piece is an update to the existing 8MW game where you'll be able to create an account that will allow for transfer of your current collection of stuff to come over with you to the new 9X game.
After we're all clear there, we launch 8MW 9X and the 8MW update (for data transfer).
Sounds like a lot and it is, but we've got plenty of Spring left to try and get this all done, so away we go!
Finally, let us say thanks for joining us on this most excellent journey. Party on, dudes.
