Saw something similar to this in the 80MWRs section a year or so ago when I first started playing, and thought it would be nice again to share our own personal rules we have when playing to try make the game a little more fun. Also a nice way to bounce some ideas off each other and to give new players a different outlook
I dont have many, and they're pretty basic, but the ones i go by the most are:
- The triple threat on week 3 just before the battle royale is used to decide who gets last spot of the royale
- All tournament winners get a title shot of some sort within a 3 month period
- The tag team tournament has 1 spot for an unofficial spontaneous tag team
- I try to plan out qualifying matches for tournaments in the weeks leading up (Although hard without the extra segments as of yet). All winners are then chucked into a random generator to determine match ups at the tournament (probably not ideal if you're after tip top ratings, but can get some good match ups)
- A losing champion gets a rematch at the next PPV if they've defended the belt 2 or 3 times (excluding times where I've used the commissioner card to stop them losing mid month). If not then they get pushed out the picture for a month or two
- All new characters get pushed as best as they can for the first month or two to try nab them some points, (mentioned it in the feedback thread, but my newer characters seem to earn points quicker, maybe im just dreaming) but they can't go for the belt straight away
- If i make someone get attacked, I always try to honour the attack with a match up
- The random (and personally annoying) 3 v 3 matches on the weekly shows I try to make champions vs challengers.
Be interested in hearing some of yours.

I always give the former champ a rematch within a few months. Usually anyways I am the same with this. Usually it's right away but in some instances I'll wait a while. Mother Mercy is almost unbeatable in my playthrough, so I usually wait to give her a rematch just to spice things up for a bit

That triple threat on Week 3 January is used to determine the final spot in the Battle Royale
(Shameless plug - check out who won the triple threat in my fed 'RnR: ReBorn' in the fed results page)
Also, March Madness winner goes to main event Champ Clash.

I also purposely pull her away from the title scene now and again, although she loses the matches i expect her to win sometimes That triple threat on Week 3 January is used to determine the final spot in the Battle Royale (Shameless plug - check out who won the triple threat in my fed 'RnR: ReBorn' in the fed results page) Also, March Madness winner goes to main event Champ Clash. I like this idea. I wanna make the battle royale winner get the world title spot at champ clash, sorta like a mania main event type deal, buttt the current format of the battle royale sorta disrupts that with them getting a shot at the same ppv.

I alternate years between Devil's Dance and Gentleman's Classic. Both are worth a TV title shot

I alternate years between Devil's Dance and Gentleman's Classic. Both are worth a TV title shot I normally do both every other year with the winner getting a tv title shot within the month , but I've decided to change it so the winners from both tournaments face each other at survival of the fittest with the winner then going onto the December PPV to battle for the world title

Yeah, that was the same for me. I originally used Battle Royal for the #1 contendership spot, and March Madness was just a King of the Ring thing.

In 80MWR I would also reward the Battle Royale winner with a spot in the Champ Clash main event, using March Mania to find a contender for the TV Title.
I'd also have every survivor in a Survival of the Fittest match be awarded entry into the Battle Royale, unless they were involved in another storyline.

For Modern Mania, my rules are as follows.
1. For Battle Royale, the Triple Threat match on Week 3 has the following stipulation. The winner gets the #10 spot, the losers get numbers 1 and 2.
2. For every tournament, the previous winners all get another shot to win the tournament again (unless I forget). Eventually, I'll choose 4 previous winners to compete in that particular tournament to spice things up. This goes for Gentlemen's Classic and Devil's Dance as well.
3. I look at the rankings before booking a #1 contenders match, unless I feel like spicing things up (like having new tag teams battle for tag team gold).
Other than that, nothing really changes.

The unpredictable nature of survival of the fittest would annoy me too much with this, but guess thats the fun of it. I sometimes give a sole survivor a title match. 3. I look at the rankings before booking a #1 contenders match, unless I feel like spicing things up (like having new tag teams battle for tag team gold). Other than that, nothing really changes. I eventually want to start doing this, but the number 1 contender rankings feel too inaccurate sometimes for me to take it seriously, so I just put whoever has had a little winning streak or involved in constant skits and mic spots in the match up.

The rankings can be an issue, especially if tag team wrestlers are the top contenders for titles. So, I tend to just look at the wrestlers that are Singles competitors that happen to be on the list (like a Gunslinger for World or Candy Cotton for Ladies).

One too many times have i seen glitter dazzle top my world heavyweight leaderboards. Maybe I should just give him the shot one day
