I am so excited for the new wrestlers. I absolutely love the characters -- it's my favourite part of the game. Such a nice mix of silly pop culture references, plus the homages to the wrestlers of yesteryear. I grew up in the 90's, but I actually prefer the 80's in the game.  |

Oh snap, new characters? Time to start the speculation.
I wanna say that the tag team is 2 of Sgt Slaughter, Colonel Mustafa, or General Adnan. It kinda looks like there are berets on their head.
Either that or it's the flipping Mario Brothers.
The guy on the right doesn't exactly look human...and the 2nd from the right kinda looks like he has a sword (or it's a cape from the 2nd guy), so I'm gonna guess the other 2 are from Blade Runner and they have a feud.
Getting my thoughts out there.

My speculations.
The tag team is probably Super Mario and Super Luigi analogs. Maybe mixed with two well-known wrestlers (Sargent Slaughter sounds like a good bet since we don't exactly have a deficient Sarg yet). As for "Good Guy", and "Bad Guy"? It could be anyone. From Kenadia and Tetsuro from Akira to Decker and Roy from Blade Runner. By the way, just a reminder...Priss from the anime Bubblegum Crises is named after the replicant Priss from Blade Runner.
We have aproxmently 30 days to figure it out.

The tag team is almost certainly the Bolsheviks, maybe mixed with a famous brother duo (could be Mario). I know absolutely nothing about the other two, but I’m incredibly excited.

The one on the right looks like a evil robed character with a mask of sort (Kane) and I agree that the tag team character have Russian berets or Smash bro hats. At first I thought the Middle dude had a crow or bird of sort at the back of his head.

My problem with it being Kane is that he isn’t even an upper midcarder, but I’d be stoked to have him. The good guy has like a mask. It’s like a slanted phantom of the opera mask. Also, do we have a 123 kid character, cause if not that’s my guess.

I kind of feel that is Jobber Joe's territory. Well, he started out as an opener, became a midcard, and stayed a midcard as a member of the NWO (compared to the Main Event of Hollywood Hogen, Scott Hall, and, um, I forgotten what other name Deasel wrestled under). Once NWO was over with, the Kid might of slipped into Jobber role. Is he still wrestling? |
