I absolutely love these characters, and I think I've come up with another way to play.
I'm going to take sixteen wrestlers from 1980, and do a G1 Climax style competition with them. Throughout the year, I'll schedule the matches at various events and see who is victorious. I'll begin with 1980 and hopefully make it to 1999. If there is enough time left, I might do a "Cream of the Crop Cruiserweight Contest" as well. No titles, no managers. Any suggestions?

Are you trying to avoid Cruiserweight eligible wrestlers?

Are you trying to avoid Cruiserweight eligible wrestlers? Good question! Maybe I should. I'll make a CW list and go from there.

Some retire and/or change gimmicks around 1990.

One of my personal favorites Arizona Chance is a cruiserweight. He was my Champ for a long time in the last version.

Added a CotCCC section with all Cruiserweights who are not openers/jobbers. 21 and 11 when it comes to A1/CotCCC. Some decisions have to be made.

The problem with cruiserweights and the heavyweight title is that at least since I have been invested, early 90s, cruiserweights just haven't been made viable as contenders for the big titles. That being said WWE and WCW (rip) made a bigger distinction.
225 seems to be the cutoff for us and Chris Jericho (billed at 227 or there abouts) has been heavyweight champ and universal champ.

I think I will add three Midcard dudes to the A1 to make it an even 24, and three openers to the CotCCC to make it 14. 12-12, 7-7. Now to decide who those guys will be.

All right, here are the guys I am considering for the inaugural tournament. These are mid-carders who will not be around past 1989.
He-Beast the Barbarian (89) Juan Tijuana (89) Mad Arab (89) Magnus Muscle (89) Mercenary (89) Robolectro (89) Vladimir the Cruel (89)
Odds are, I will alternate them each year, until new guys come in.

Went to add Devin Van Winkle to the A1, but he is a Cruiserweight.
I think I need to wait until I unlock Average Guy, who I assume will be active as of 1980. That would give me an even number for that. Throw in the other Van Winkle brother, and I'm pretty solid for the CW tournament too.
Once Screwjob gets sorted out, I think I'll be pretty close to being off to the races. I cannot wait.

At least, not when I tried making him the champ.

Also, the one Average Guy I have isn't active until late in the decade. What about the other?
