My favorite pairing that isn't an official tag team is Arizona Chance and Slashmaster as The Blockbusters. I've always fancied Arizona Chance and Reptile Ranger as "Thrill Seekers".

I like you guys.
As a result, I'll be doing two tournaments in 1981. Another A1 Pinnacle, and a tag team tournament. I'm not sure how I'll do it yet, but I'll let you know when I make some decisions.

This is phenomenal. Like, A.J. Styles level phenomenal.
I love the idea of the tag team tourney— my pick to win it all is The Adventurers (see forum name), but I’m sure the Mega Dudes are going to be huge favorites going in.
Have you decided yet how your singles 1981 tourney entrants will be decided?

Have you decided yet how your singles 1981 tourney entrants will be decided? I haven't -- I initially thought I had, but now I'm going to mix it up a bit. Now that I know my phone is holding up a bit, I want to get started on this sooner than later. I know when I upgrade, I'm going to lose all my in-game progress. So if I'm going to do this, I better do it soon. I expect I will allow the mid-card guys to focus on the tag team tourney, while the upper card folks will be in the A1 itself. I will be making decisions sooner than later.

Disregard. This will be the setup. In year 2 (1981), we will have the same four pool format. This time, there will only be 24 contestants. Here they are: Ace Arcadium - 12 points Average Guy - 14 points BuZZsaW - 12 points Chameleon Kid Dark Invader - 8 points Dr. B - 8 points Dude Brohan - 12 points Enormous Pierre - 14 points Exotic Rick - 6 points Haka Tonga Jet Set Strutter - 14 points Juan Tijuana Keith Blood Lazer - 10 points Mad Arab - 6 points Mr. Tycoon - 10 points Ninja Star - 7 points O'Hooligan - 10 points Pelvis Pressley Reptile Ranger - 8 points Skullgore Slashmaster - 10 points The Annihilator - 6 points Valedictorian - 7 points In the Tag Team Tournament, there will be 24 teams, four pools of six. Here is what I decided: 8-Bit - Zen & Max Attack!(80's) All-Pros - Bobby Blitzworth & Slammer Johnson American Heroes - Dangerzone & Warhawk Anti-Americans - Brit Buckingham & Hammerhead B-Boys - Zap & Boombox Conquer & Command - Iron Mask & Copper Commander Dungeon Masters - He-Beast the Barbarian & Dungeon Crawler Ghoul & Goblin - Goblinknight & Zombie Punk Gramercy Riffs - Soul Daddy & Johnny Kobra(80's) Howl & Roar - Mighty Leo & Michael T. Wolf Insectoids - Mike Bugg & Mark Bugg Metalheads - Cesar Sleaze & Dizzy Lixx(80's) Mullet Cousins - Cletus Mullet & Zeke Mullet Muscle Men - Magnus Muscle(80's) & Pat Cabbage Neanderthals - The Piranha & Troglo Neon Express - Chet Skye & Jessie Wild(80's) Nerd Alert - Herman the Nerd & Waldo the Dweeb Slave Drivers - Big Thuggee & Lil Thuggee Stunt Men - Crash & Rad Racer Supernova - Starboy & Moon Man(Specimen) The Adventurers - Arizona Chance & Red Pirate Rogers The Executers - Mercenary(80's) & Spazz The Gladiators - Brute & Massacre Van Winkles - Devin Van Winkle & Terry Van Winkle It's worth noting that Troglo did qualify for the singles tournament, but decided he had a better chance of winning the tag tournament. Also, Yuppie VP/Papa Chopper were furious they were overlooked in the singles tourney. Yuppie thought he and Tycoon were in, but Tycoon believes his stock will be higher if he can have another strong tournament. As for PC, he lost a coinflip to Keith Blood for the final spot. He has been promised a spot in the 1982 tourney, but he is still furious. Pools for each tournament will be announced soon.

BLOCKS FOR EACH TOURNAMENT 1981 A1 Pinnacle: BLOCK A Dr. B - 8 points Keith Blood Valedictorian - 7 points The Annihilator - 6 points Slashmaster - 10 points Pelvis Pressley
BLOCK B Average Guy - 14 points Mad Arab - 6 points Exotic Rick - 6 points Juan Tijuana Reptile Ranger - 8 points Haka Tonga
BLOCK C Enormous Pierre - 14 points Dude Brohan - 12 points Mr. Tycoon - 10 points O'Hooligan - 10 points Chameleon Kid Ninja Star - 7 points
BLOCK D BuZZsaW - 12 points Jet Set Strutter - 14 points Ace Arcadium - 12 points Dark Invader - 8 points Skullgore Lazer - 10 points
1981 A1 Tag Team Tournament BLOCK A 8-Bit - Zen & Max Attack!(80's) Conquer & Command - Iron Mask & Copper Commander Neon Express - Chet Skye & Jessie Wild(80's) Anti-Americans - Brit Buckingham & Hammerhead Metalheads - Cesar Sleaze & Dizzy Lixx(80's) Neanderthals - The Piranha & Troglo
BLOCK B Insectoids - Mike Bugg & Mark Bugg B-Boys - Zap & Boombox Van Winkles - Devin Van Winkle & Terry Van Winkle Stunt Men - Crash & Rad Racer The Gladiators - Brute & Massacre The Executers - Mercenary(80's) & Spazz
BLOCK C Ghoul & Goblin - Goblinknight & Zombie Punk Mullet Cousins - Cletus Mullet & Zeke Mullet Dungeon Masters - He-Beast the Barbarian & Dungeon Crawler Muscle Men - Magnus Muscle(80's) & Pat Cabbage The Adventurers - Arizona Chance & Red Pirate Rogers Howl & Roar - Mighty Leo & Michael T. Wolf
BLOCK D All-Pros - Bobby Blitzworth & Slammer Johnson Slave Drivers - Big Thuggee & Lil Thuggee Gramercy Riffs - Soul Daddy & Johnny Kobra(80's) American Heroes - Dangerzone & Warhawk Nerd Alert - Herman the Nerd & Waldo the Dweeb Supernova - Starboy & Moon Man(Specimen)
Note: these were done randomly. Tag-wise, nothing jumps out to me as too ridiculous. On the singles side, that D Block is brutal. While Average Guy appears to have a cakewalk to the final four, Slashmaster and Dr. B just have to get by each other. Block C has the biggest feud of all-time, while Block D has five guys who could win it all, and Skullgore. Good luck to him. I'll be trying to plan out the schedules later this week to make the final matches of the tournament more meaningful.

Five guys who could win, and Skullgore. I'm rooting for Skullgore. If Skullgore wins two matches, he'll become my favourite wrestler in the game.

Initial thoughts:
Go Skullgore!
If Average Guy wins two tourneys in a row, it will be Hard Times for everyone else.
Tag team division is wide open, with the Mega Dudes, Buzzsaw and Lazer, and your top teams all competing as individuals.
Question— do the tag teams compete with their flavor card? For example, The Adventurers get a +2 push with theirs, while the Neon Express gets a +4 push with their card— that could really reward tag team specialists as opposed to two top individuals.

Never underestimate the Mad Arab. I've had him hold onto titles for incomprehensibly long periods of time.

You bet'cha! In the future, I may have singles guys team up (at a disadvantage) but right now, I'm sticking with actual tags. Numbers will fluctuate with each tournament as well. I may start adding lower tier tourneys and CW tourneys. I just need to make sure the belts are all held by jobbers.

Good times. I remember when i first started the original 80MW Jobber Joe became my world champ. (Dr. B started with it, and it got lost to progressivly lower guys, (Dr.B,Starboy, I think Keith Blood was next, etc.) GOOD TIMES!

Ace, any update on how your tourneys are turning out? I saw you were having device issues, so I’m hoping that worked out for you.

Device has been fine. After I posted the schedule, and started reading up on stuff, I've begun reconsidering my plan.
I may even retcon the original tournament. Waiting to see what twelve new characters come out.
