This show suffered from the same problem most WWE shows have, which is the matches will be good to great but then the finishes are rubbish. How on Earth did they botch the ending of Owens and Roman? Aren't they supposed to be a professional organization? The top of the industry? "We make movies, pal!". Bingo. Why in the hell did they use real cuffs? Why would you not use some real looking gimmicked cuffs where all Heyman had to do was walk over with a key, jimmy it off camera, and set Roman free? Why didn’t he just undo the cuff he could reach and then thread the other through? Why didn’t the ref audible, count both men, and tell Owens to stay down— new finish is a draw, which in a championship match serves the same purpose as a screwy win for the champ?

I guess the whole "refs call it like a shoot" doesn't apply to every match. Another part of "Vince's sometimes enforced rules".

I know this is late, but it's relevant to the subject:
The "both feet touch the floor" rule is immensely stupid when it is followed LITERALLY by WWE. By their rule enforcement, if I fell out of the ring and every single inch of my body was touching the floor EXCEPT for one foot somehow, I'm still in the rumble. It used to be "over the top rope and to the floor", basically if you touch the floor after going over the top rope, you're out.
It might be a very different world if Shawn Michaels didn't blow his skin-the-cat spot and put a foot on the floor in plain sight of the cameras and everyone back in 1995.

Yeah it's gone OTT now where someone can simply lie on their back and isn't eliminated. The ridiculous spots with Kofi then Naomi and Catanzaro were clever at least.

Could you imagine that in the NFL? NANTZ: We’re going to send this replay up to our rules expert, Gene Sterratore. Gene? GENE: Well, although Mahomes slid well into the team bench area on his back, he was never touched by an opponent. Since his feet never touched down out of bounds, when Kelce drags him back onto the field of play, it’s perfectly legal for him to stand back up in bounds and run from there. I think this call is going to be overturned. And, on a side note, when AEW did their tag team battle royal last week, I was confused when Matt Jackson got backdropped over the top and onto the stage. That’s an elimination in AEW even though 1. He never hit the “floor” and 2. He landed flat on his back, so feet never touched anything. Yet another small thing they do differently, and IMO better.

Sadly, I CAN see the NFL doing something that ridiculous. My only complaints with the tag team battle royal were that everyone started on the floor for some reason and that you had to eliminate both members of the team (which is just a nitpick on my part).
