"Namahage" doesn't translate to anything through Google Translate (even written in Hiragana for Pete's sake!), but Nama = Living and Hage = Bald. THE LIVING BALD. I feel personally attacked.

It's "englanese". It is revenge for all the english words butchered by the Japanese tounge (bka Japlish or Engrish).

A little help— I’m using “Namahage” as a placeholder for a better name for what’s going on with Arizona. Basically, as revealed in my last post, Arizona has been a bad guy all along without even him realizing it (after all, we’re all the heroes of our own stories). I know next to nothing of Eastern folklore, and in three minutes of internet research I saw these dudes pretending to be demons and used their name. What would be an Oriental equivalent of the devil on your shoulder telling you to take the bad, but beneficial and easier, course of action? I'm not much better versed but read a valuable insight: namely that the concepts of good/evil (angel/devil) are not used in many eastern traditions as actions are seen as karmic affected not by one temptation, or one malevolent force but by a complex and unknowable network of actions both good and bad that affect everything differently. Even after the fact, it's hard to call actions good/evil because their consequences are mysterious and unknowable. Maybe Arizona's being pushed to channel and recognize that he isn't the hero he has long assumed (no one is). Realizing that he's been most successful when he followed the path of power and self-interest could give him a reason to no longer being ashamed of it but to let it take the lead in his personality... Gotcha. I don’t mean the concept of holy/unholy, as I do understand that there as far more moral grayness in Eastern worldviews than in the West. I’m looking for the concept of the conscience telling us to follow our own moral code vs our desire to have what we want now. In Freudian psychology it’s the Superego vs the Id, in Christianity it’s following the Holy Spirit vs earthly desires, in Buddhism it’s Kama-tanha vs bhikkhus.

I actually knew about the Oni festival thing but I didn't realize that was the name for it. I probably should have paid closer attention.

Ahhh...that tracks clearly (I misunderstood the initial question). In Hinduism Rakshashas are often seen as the spirits of traditions and force...but I think that's a little off base for the world we're working in.

I probably didn’t state the initial question in a clear manner. 😉

I probably didn’t state the initial question in a clear manner. 😉 Probably more like we didn't completely understand the question. Anyways, I can see Zona in the getup asking if there any lazy wrestlers about and stuff.

Is Yuppie doing the down on his luck Happy Corbin transition or is this leading to a face turn because we’re really keeping the fans curious on what this one’s leading to

Is Yuppie doing the down on his luck Happy Corbin transition or is this leading to a face turn because we’re really keeping the fans curious on what this one’s leading to I think until the tag team belt changes hands, Arizona will remain an unwilling heel. As long as Tommy holds the tag team belt and has no replacement for Arizona, Arizona is going to remain a heel. Sorry. I thought you were not talking about Arizona. Yuppie? He is not exactly a heel or face. He's a business man. All he cares about, mostly, is the bottom line.

Stanley gets it. As for storyline, I've got something in the works. If it were completely up to me I wouldn't be on a losing streak, but that's what happens when match outcomes are decided by a vote. Seems like you guys really like it when I get beat.

You choose big matches that the others probably should've one. Except my one win that was 50/50. but maybe certain people like seeing you driven to the ground.

He is the snarky Wall Street/American Psycho type (without the crazy hallucinations, murder, and apperanly rampant drug use). Of course we love seeing him lose.

I’m absolutely down for Penguin Kai. Looking forward to see where this goes.
Also down for fit-fat Chief Buffalo.
I just want to say— I am really enjoying everyone taking their characters in slightly different directions. All of the wrestlers here are fully three dimensional, and you’ve all done an excellent job explaining motivations, why a character has changed, and how that affects their relationships with other characters.

Ok. I'm thinking.
How long should my "looking for a new master/retraining" arc go on? I would say about 1 month away from the schedule and some time being a part time student/part time wrestler.
Of course, this isn't set in stone. I still want to eventually save Arizona. I don't see joining the Oni Cult as actually improving my character (and Tommy actually hasn't ran anything pass me yet on how we should end this, if anything).
