About a week out from “the grandpappy of them all” it’s fun to see that all of us got something that has been announced (or at least heavily foreshadowed)
I also realized I came back to following things shortly after the tribal chief returned, and so this has been about 2.75 years worth of Bloodline/Head of the Table drama I want to propose an additional prediction:
Does this end the “Bloodline Story” and if so, how; if no, when?
My pitch: yes and it ends by invoking themes of selfishness and manipulation that have been there throughout.
Night 1: Main Event USO’s are in trouble when Roman’s music hits…but he doesn’t show (h/t to Zayn’s strategy to help USOs before), they rally but lose.
Night 2: throughout the day Roman gaslights about needing to focus, not having time, etc. (underlining the themes) until his main event. USOs & Solo run in to break up pin 3 times (h/t to all the defenses) but Jimmy fails. Rhodes wins, Roman flips and attacks Jimmy, demanding Jey hit his brother with a chair (h/t to all the loyalty tests). Jey pauses, double super kick and…curtain.

Silly question about this year’s Mania— if Dominic beats Rey, does he become the lineal holder of his own custody? 😂

It's going to take a hell of an angle to recover from squandering the past year with Cody. Even if Cody wins later, why not now?

It's going to take a hell of an angle to recover from squandering the past year with Cody. Even if Cody wins later, why not now? Yup. Cody checked EVERY box to be the guy to dethrone Roman. Insanely over. He can talk. He can wrestle. He looks like a champ. He acts like a champ. Beloved by long time fans for his connection to his family and reverence for the past. Beloved by internet smarks because he’s aware of the meta stuff and makes reference to it. He’s even been booked like a champ. And the booking of the match— Solo was ejected. Sami and KO countered the Usos. The fans were going nuts. Roman was finally, FINALLY going to go down. The timing was perfect. Everything was perfect. Until it wasn’t. They blew the moment to make their next Bruno, their next Hogan, their next Warrior, their next Bret, their next Cena. It was all there, and they didn’t pull the trigger. I think this is going to end up being one of wrestling’s big “what ifs”.

I was actually not surprised. The more the day went on, the more I lent into Roman retaining. I think they want him to surpass 1,000 days and enter the top 5 for longest reigns (Pedro has 1,027 according to Wikipedia).
They've pushed Cody to the moon since he returned. And that's led to some resentment clearly (there were a fair amount of boos in the crowd for him last night, also check how the fans turned on Breakker in NXT). Whenever someone gets the proverbial rocket, the crowd tend to turn on them.
WWE under HHH has proven to be able to tell long-term stories (they way they "recovered" from Sami losing to actually having people care about the Tag win with KO, the Myserios stuff, etc etc) I just think it's way too early to write this off. The story isn't over. To beat Roman, the bloodline needs to go down.
For sure though, tonight's Raw has to hit a home run (the last couple of Raw after Mania's haven't been great).
Overall, both nights were great (thought night 1 edged night 2, although the I-C title match was the match of the weekend (as expected)).

I Overall, both nights were great (thought night 1 edged night 2, although the I-C title match was the match of the weekend (as expected)). Sheamus has (fairly quietly) been putting together the best run of his career. WALTER, Drew and Sheamus truly bring out the best in each other.

Sidebar: my family came to LA for vacation Saturday (non Mania related) and it’s been nice seeing all the fans around town (a dad in a bloodline shirt posed with his kid like the Usos and jumped off like it was the top rope when my son said it was for kids)
