What Types of Characters do YOU Want to See?

I’ve been wondering about this for a while so forgive the length of the post.

And just to give you some background: I grew up in the 80s, been a wrestling fan since I was a kid, and I’ve played these games since their inception. And I’ve been a fan of this creative team since they were a part of the COTG community ( that’s why guys like Avarice and Moon Woolf are among my MMW favs) . So im 100% a wrestling dork who appreciates rasslin history.

Another FYI: I’m not a collector. I book my feds for storylines and not necessarily to get every card possible.

All that being said, my question for the community is this: do you actually want/prefer new characters that are straightforward translations of existing wrestler? Or do you want/prefer updates to existing characters or possibly even original characters based off of 80s pop culture?

Because I LOVED turning Reptile Ranger into Snake Pilskin. So many creative possibilities. But I am absolutely uninterested in someone like Thumper Moore even though I liked JYD as a kid.

And I love the Midnight Express. But on several sites I’ve seen people say ‘now let’s do the Rock N Roll Express’ Wouldn’t it be more effective to add feuds for existing teams like Neon Express or The Adventurers ( high flying baby face teams like the RnR) ?

I’m probably overthinking it. And there are definitely Irl wrestlers that I 100% wish we had in the game. But I’d really love to see some more original creations because they can be some of the best and most beloved characters in the game. That’s my rant. I’d love to hear other peoples thoughts.

If I really thought about it, I could probably come up with a bunch of stuff. But the main thing I've been wanting for a while now is a Mr. Tycoon alt that represents Ted DiBiase from 80-85.

I'm from the Mid-South area, and I want to see more representation from that territory.

We just got a Hacksaw card. Make a Killer Clown alt for the 80s, and you can have the rat pack.
Tycoon alt can feud with thumper and the new hacksaw card.

That's the main thing I want

I realize I'm probably in the minority, but I own every card and it's hard enough to utilize most of them without sending a lot away...

Me? Child of the 70's and 80's. I love me De Crusher and Baron VonRaskie.

I don't actually expect a card of either, but they did work in the 80's.

I could use a manager card based on Slick.

I love cards based on Link, Darth Vader, The Shredder, Jason Voorhees, etc.

But you are right. The roster is getting huge. I know they're adding a draft feature to the new modern mania game. On my next playthrough of 80s, I'm going to hold my own draft. Split the roster into thirds and force myself to use cards I normally don't. I think it'll be fun

Bo and Lee tried being ninjas and cowboys with little success. I say shift the years available on those gimmicks and in 1995, let them be outlaws. They, along with a revitalized jobber Joe and a main event moved VTC could join the Cooler Kids Battalion.

We could see feuds with the new Troglo/Buck Bronco tag team card; The hunk, Hotshot, Jupiter, and Slug (Afrikaan Nation); Undermaster, Mr Fantasy, Blaine, Bail Bondsman, The Hunk (Satanic Business); and the feud everyone wanted but never got: Cooler Kids Battalion vs Whole New Era

I know I'm not the only one that has mentioned this but there so many great Attitude Era inspired cards that, while accurate to not have it start until 1995, really feels like a miss to only have 5 years of gameplay with them.

I'm a 70s-80s kid that grew up in the Mid South Territory, and at times, if I was lucky, I could pick up WCCW since I lived between Houston and Dallas. Also Got the extra Houston half of Paul Bosch Houston Wrestling from the sadly departed Sam Houston Coliseum. And geeked out when WWF started syndicating in the area and then gave us Saturday Nights Main Event. More geeking when I got cable finally and got to see Jim Crockett Promotions NWA ans AWA. Became very much of a wrestling trivia dork myself. So now that I put you to sleep, I'll get on answering your questions.

I would totally love to have all the wrestlers be as close to real as possible, and the game can since this can be labeled as satire, which has super loophole for entertainment just like this.

That be said, I also enjoy the 80s and 90s Super-Mrga Pop Coulture I grew up with all around me. So if it gets a minor role (Rubiks Cube Wrestling Attire) or a major role (Young Adult wearing jean, tennis shoes and old t-shirt with some green goop on it and some 5-Leaf Clovers sticking from his pockets, whose just ready use a home made bomb), or (Another Uoung adult with a computer screen stuck to his chest, random robot parts, and the computer screen asking opponents if they would like to play a game [hunt: play tic tac toe]).

But I too have played from the beginning and have tried to be loyal and support the devs by spending money when I can. I'm hoping everyone else has that ability. Imagine if just one day we got every player of 80sMWR and MMW to just spend $1 on a single gold coin?

I would definitely say you can never stop being surprised about What's mixed into wrestlers as most just see at first is just the simple wrestler and nothing combined. I.E. you Raptor/Snake Plitskin view. The devs really don't tell us what all they mix, but it's fun to try search them out like a super mystery puzzle and hope something you remember or at least they suddenly remind you of things, people, movies, cartoons, shows, etc.that were from that time-frame.

For a guy who did have a wrestling match though obviously wasn't a normal wrestler, Lawrence Taylor would be fun.

I like cards from wrestlers more than I like pop-culture cards. Bug Busters and Max Attacks get shipped off more often then not.
