Who are y’all rooting for, and who’s your prediction to win it all? I’m supporting the US, we’re obviously probably not going to get too far but I’m just hoping we can beat England in the group and at least make the knockouts. As far as my prediction, I’ve got Brazil winning it all, beating Belgium in the final.

Obviously England.
But as for potential winners, I genuinely have no idea.
I don't like this World Cup. Wrong hosts, wrong time of year, etc.

Because I am very, very, very cool I have a spreadsheet to make your picks with! I definitely spend a lot of time thinking of picks and then make them in 10 minutes and never reconsider them: this strategy has made me rather bad at making picks, but for what it's worth. Rooting for US & Ghana (due to personal connections), and South Korea (for my favorite player: Son Heung-Min) Pick to win: Argentina Dark Horse: Senegal in the Semi-Finals, Denmark as the best team in the group stage Burn Out picks: France and Portugal out before Round of 16

Hmm....
Pot A (The winner will likely come from this one): Brazil, Argentina, Germany, France Pot B (Potential Finalist, but likely semi-finalist;i.e. lack something): Spain, England, Belgium, Denmark Pot C (Could go far if they overcome specific issues): Portugal, Uruguay, Switzerland, Netherlands) Pot D (worth laying a few quid down just for the odds payoff lol): Poland, Ghana, Denmark, South Korea

Gotta go for my home country Australia, but there's no way we're winning lol. Maybe we can get into the top 16? My pick to win it all though is Argentina.
Probably won't watch this world cup anyways because of host shenanigans.

Just hoping the US can beat Wales in the opening match, opening the door for them to advance to the knockout stage. We lose to Wales, we’re done, because we ain’t beating the Lions, and nobody’s losing to Iran.
EDIT: I pleasantly stand corrected.

That Wales loss to Iran was brutal for them. A US-England draw basically assures both teams go through (and is probably the best case scenario for the Stars and Stripes), assuming the US can beat Iran.

That was a hell of a game. A draw was the right result. England is a very, very good side with the potential to win it all, but the future sure looks bright for the US. We’re not quite up there with the top European sides or Brazil/Argentina, but I’m proud of our boys. 👏🇺🇸 👍🏴

So proud of myself predicting a nil-nil draw in that USA England game.
Less excited to hear US media whine about games without winners, or points, but such is our lot in life.
As a plus, my father-in-law, a life long gridiron-football player was impressed by athleticism.

From our perspective it was terrible and a typical "bore draw". Both teams playing backwards and sideways too much until the last 10-15 minutes when we actually brought a couple of players on (Grealish and Rashford) that could make a difference. For us to go out now though, Wales would need to beat us by 4 goals or more, so it's virtually job done so far.

You have to understand that what we’re used to seeing from our national team is high athleticism and terrible skill. We’ve tried to play soccer/football like American football for decades, trying to win with speed and strength instead of, you know, skill and positioning. To see our boys have that understanding of how to defend overlapping runs, to create opportunities based on field vision and deft passing rather than simply trying to run past people was a treat.

We had one game plan, let USA run out of steam like they did Wales. Problem is, USA played a different and more patient game. Which led to a bore-fest of a match.

I know I’m a bit late but I’ll be rooting for Mexico and we’re finally breaking our round of 16 curse (in the worse way)
My pick to win is Brazil but Argentina, Germany, and Netherlands should also definitely be favorites and as for a dark horse I’ll go with Croatia (I would say Spain but they’re realistic winners)
Portugal and England have bad coaches so even with their talent I don’t see them winning, Belgium’s golden generation is fading and I’m not sure if they’ll even make it pass the quarter finales, Spain and France are great teams but are lacking some key players to help them be favorites (especially France), Denmark, Uruguay, and Croatia are really solid teams so a deep run shouldn’t be crazy
