I've been into wrestling for as long as I can remember, but I think it comes down to playing a lot of SmackDown vs RAW 2008 growing up, and watching WWE PPV DVDs Dad always used to get me.

It's weird, my family was the one that got me into wrestling, but now I'm the only wrestling fan in the household.

Wow well then you’re the TRUE fan XD
Side note, I actually like SvR 08 even though the season mode is awful

So I think I'm a little unusual as far as this board goes. I was a huge fan of Princess Bride as a kid, and wanted to grow up to be Andre the Giant. I worked backwards to Wrestlemania III. From there I got invested in Savage and Steamboat and Koko B Ware and Roddy Piper. I would watch superstars regularly and my brothers and I would rent the VHS's from our local video store when we could. I really liked it until my brother got suspend for doing the suck-it gesture at school and it was forbidden in our home.

I watched bits now and then (especially Royal Rumble clips) and got invested with Kofi Mania, and then more so with the pandemic giving me time to enjoy recap videos--and this game--as I worked. With two kid I still don't get to "watch" live but I enjoy the recap videos and especially this community.
