LERAY: "It's been an incredible show so far as we head into our main event tonight with the JWA World Title on the line between the challenger "Lord" Taylor Thorin and the champion, the relentless one, Conor Caine. Tensions between the two have been building for some time now, here's Rodd Puttergill to take a closer look."
BEEMAN: "I was hoping that goof had been fired by now..."
We cut to a video package which starts in November 2022 at the first meeting between the two which goes on to Thorin & Duke's tag title win and the increasing influence Thorin's assistants Tembleberry and Earl Jackson had on matches, while Caine was striking a new path after his bloody feud with long-time rival Seph Kobane, culminating in the recent strap match and then the reason Thorin requested the DQ stipulation after Tembleberry was seemingly put on the injured reserve list by Caine a week ago.
Back in the arena the crowd are buzzing, but then begin to boo vociferously as the opening bars of Palladio begin to play before "Haven't You Heard?" kicks in and out walks "Lord" Taylor Thorin...and Earl Jackson!
LERAY: "Wait a minute? The last we saw of Jackson was him getting put out to pasture after Thorin and Duke lost the tag team titles. What's he doing here!"
BEEMAN: "He's obviously here in place of poor Tembleberry LeRay, you can't expect m'Lord to carry his own bags do you??"
Thorin and Jackson head to the ring, where Jackson holds the ropes for Thorin and he steps up to the apron. He looks out to the crowd with his usual pompous look of distain, before wiping his feet and stepping through the ropes. The crowd make it clear who they're favouring as the boos turn to deafening cheers as the music changes...

ROD C: Making his way to the ring... from Providence, Rhode Island... Weighing in at 256lbs... The JWA Champion, "The Relentless" Conorrrrrr Caaaaaaiiiiine!
Conor Caine stomps his way to the ring, the JWA title slung over his shoulder with the centre plate clutched over his heart. Before he climbs the steps, he takes a moment to stare down Earl Jackson.
CAINE: You try anything down here tonight and, when I'm done with him, I'll whoop your ass just for fun!
Caine heads up the steps and goes between the ropes.
LERAY: Conor Caine putting Earl Jackson on notice! BEEMAN: Not that it'll affect the outcome of the match, but you'd think Caine would have learned by now to keep his eyes on the opponent that matters: namely His Lordship, Taylor Thorin. But as I said, it won't make any difference here tonight because, no matter what The Relentless One does, Taylor Thorin is walking out of Super Glory as the champion! Mark my words!
Caine tries to get to the far corner of the ring to salute the fans, but Thorin continues to step in his way, mouthing off at Caine and jeering at him. Caine pushes Thorin aside and Thorin complains to the referee as Caine climbs the turnbuckle and raises the belt to the fans.
BEEMAN: You saw that LeRay, Conor Caine ruthlessly attacked His Lordship before the bell! That's the kind of behaviour that's going to cost him the title before Taylor Thorin can even get to breaking him in half! LERAY: I dare say that's the strategy, Sean.
Caine is now off the turnbuckle and in the middle of the ring handing the belt to Panther Haberdashery, who holds it out to each competitor before raising it over his head for the audience. The presentation over, Haberdashery passes the belt to the timekeeper and calls for the bell.
LERAY: And here we go, Championship action under way!

Caine and Thorin lock up and Thorin almost immediately breaks the hold, clutching his eye.
BEEMAN: A poke to the eye! Right out of the gate Conor Caine is breaking the rules! Immediate DQ! LERAY: Panther Haberdashery is unconvinced, as are the rest of us not living in La-La Land! The match continues!
They lock up again and, again, Thorin breaks - this time complaining to Haberdashery that Conor Caine pulled his hair.
LERAY: Is this what these fans paid good money to see? Some bad play-acting from "Lord" Taylor Thorin?! BEEMAN: These people paid to see a fair fight, which is what Conor Caine is refusing to provide!
A third lock-up leads to some actual chain wrestling: Caine takes Thorin's wrist; Thorin reverses into a rear hammerlock before transitioning to a waist-lock but - yet again - breaks away!
LERAY: The fans are voicing their displeasure now! What the hell is "Lord" Taylor Thorin doing?! BEEMAN: He's telling referee Panther Haberdashery that he felt something hidden in the waistband of Caine's trunks! Brass knuckles no doubt! LERAY: I believe brass knuckles are your Lordship's weapon of choice, and this is clearly another attempt by Thorin to trigger a DQ finish so he can steal the belt! BEEMAN: "Lord" Taylor Thorin has never stolen a thing in his life! Everything that man has he worked hard to... to... inherit from his dead parents... REGARDLESS! Panther Haberdashery is checking Conor Caine for foreign objects!
Caine stands in the middle of the ring, his arms out at his sides as Haberdashery checks the waistband of his trunks and his kneepads. While the ref and Caine - looking pissed off - are both distracted, Thorin walks up and slaps Caine hard across the face.
LERAY: The blatant disrespect! What a cheap shot! BEEMAN: Cheap shot?! That's a WARNING shot, telling Conor Caine to stay in line!
Haberdashery admonishes Thorin and sends both men to neutral corners. Conor Caine is visibly getting more and more frustrated with the jeering Taylor Thorin as the seconds ticks by. Haberdashery calls on the competitors to resume the match...

Caine advances on Thorin, who immediately positions himself between the middle ropes in the corner. Haberdashery stops Caine from moving in on Thorin.LERAY: Another cowardly tactic from Taylor Thorin, causing a rope break before there's even been any contact! BEEMAN: He didn't get the signal that the match had resumed and was, rightfully, avoiding an illegal assault from Conor Caine! LERAY: Given that Conor Caine can lose his title by DQ, I'd think Taylor Thorin would welcome an illegal assault! Thorin comes back into the ring and Caine moves forward again, but Thorin goes right back to a rope break. Caine refuses to give Thorin space, instead yelling at him to get into the ring and fight already. The fans are booing Thorin out of the building.LERAY: Frustrated as Conor Caine is, he has to keep a cool head here. And now he's rounded on Haberdashery, complaining about Thorin's-- OH! BEEMAN: Another warning shot from Taylor Thorin! THORIN: Warning shot?! He slapped Conor Caine in the back of the head!! Caine flips out and goes at Thorin, who tries to duck between the ropes again, but Caine grabs him around the waist and hits him with a German suplex, tossing Thorin into the middle of the ring. Caine follows him, stomping at Thorin, who backs into another corner.LERAY: Conor Caine is raining down punches on Taylor Thorin, who's trying his best to cover up! Pather Haberdashery has been trying all this time get control of Caine who isn't listening! Haberdashery counts to three and Caine finally backs up, but now Thorin is complaining to the ref, demanding he do more than count.LERAY: And so Thorin's strategy reveals itself! He's trying to goad Conor Caine into getting himself disqualified!!! Beeman: As we've seen, that thug doesn't need any encouragement. Haberdashery should throw this match out and award Thorin the belt already!

LERAY: When he started in the JWA, Conor Caine struggled to contain his anger issues - the likes of which would surely lose him his title here tonight. But his campaign for the World Championship saw him adopt a more disciplined ring style against opponents such as Red Pirate Rogers. He'll need to channel that same composure if he wants to retain here tonight!
Both men are back in the centre of the ring and Haberdashery calls on them to resume the match. Caine puts his hands behind his back.
LERAY: Conor Caine is offering a free shot to Thorin! BEEMAN: He's an idiot! Last time these two faced off, Thorin knocked him out with just one punch! LERAY: Yeah, just one one punch wearing brass knuckles!!
Thorin is apprehensive but he moves in for his free shot, feints a punch and instead kicks Caine in the mid-section.
BEEMAN: Let the record show that that was above the belt!
Caine is down on one knee and Thorin is aiming a series of right hands square to the champ's head. Caine reels back towards the ropes. Thorin goes for a haymaker but Caine ducks it and begins to rock Thorin with a flurry of punches. He whips Thorin to the ropes and hits a back body drop, then runs off the ropes himself and hits a leg drop across Thorin's chest.
LERAY: The pin attempt only scores a two count for the Champion, but it looks like we finally have a match on our hands!

Caine continues to press the advantage, literally, as he lifts Thorin above his head before pressing him over the top rope to the outside!
LERAY: "What a show of strength from the champion!"
BEEMAN: "That's an automatic disqualification!!! Award the title now!!!"
LERAY: "Are you kidding me? This isn't some now defunct organisation based in Georgia!!!"
Caine climbs to the outside as Thorin gets to his knees and cracks the challenger in his head with a running knee. Earl Jackson looks on shouting a few words of encouragement, but a simple stare from Caine backs him off. Caine drags Thorin up and rolls him back into the ring, before climbing up to the apron and slingshotting himself over the top rope with a flying shoulderblock which drops the challenger just as he was getting back up.

LERAY: Conor Caine taking the time now to wear down and punish his opponent...
Caine raises one of Thorin's legs and kicks him in the extended hamstring. As Thorin rolls over in pain, Caine grabs the foot of the same foot, hoists Thorin off the mat and slams his leg knee first into the canvas. He wraps Thorin's lower leg around his own and throws himself back on the mat, snapping Thorin's lower leg.
LERAY: Having Thorin at his mercy, Caine wants to relish the opportunity to pay him back for the cheap shots over the past many months! BEEMAN: I tell you what, Mick: I miss Tembleberry! He'd do something about this. I don't know what the hell has gotten into Earl Jackson but he's standing out here with his two arms at one length while his boss is getting stretched in the ring!
Meanwhile, Thorin has crawled towards Panther Haberdashery and is holding on to his leg. Caine tries to drag Thorin away but His Lordship holds tight to the ref and begins to climb up Haberdashery with his hands. Caine continues to try and drag Thorin off as Haberdashery is completely overwhelmed. Taking advantage of the confusion he's created, Thorin kicks backwards between Caine's legs and low blows him.
LERAY: The ref didn't see it! BEEMAN: See what?!
Before Haberdashery can figure out what's going on, Thorin has mounted Caine and is punching him over and over again. Haberdashery drags Thorin off to give Caine room to recover but no sooner is Caine halfway to his feet before Thorin rushes at him with a running knee to the side of the head and takes Caine down again. Caine reaches for the ropes to get up and Thorin takes the opportunity to choke Caine on the bottom rope. Haberdashery again drags Thorin away but he quickly comes back and begins stomping Caine as he lays on the mat.

Thorin keeps up the punishment but has now seemingly picked his spot, as he first grabs the left leg of Caine before dropping a knee into the joint. He then drags the champ to the ropes and jumping down, yanks the back of the knee down onto the ring apron. As Haberdashery starts to count Thorin out, he again grabs the left leg, but this time slams it into the ring post, eliciting a warning from the referee.
Thorin rolls back into the ring then back out again to break the count, before again slamming Caine's knee into the ring post, following up by applying a modified figure-four around the ring post! Caine is scrambling for a way to break the hold but Thorin, getting close to being counted out, breaks the hold and rolls back into the ring. Again on the receiving end of a stern telling off from Haberdashery, which he ignores.
LERAY: "Thorin cutting it close there. Referee Panther Haberdashery could've disqualified him never mind counting him out!"
BEEMAN: "M'lord knows what he's doing, look at him continue the work on the knee LeRay, it's beautiful!"
Indeed there is a modicum of respect watching Thorin now go to work, no cheap gimmicks, just picking a body part and working away. In the middle of the ring, he again grabs Caine's left leg and applies an Indian Deathlock! Haberdashery is over to check on Caine but there's no way the champ is giving up, at least not yet!

LERAY: Conor Caine is fighting through the pain, trying to take in his surroundings! BEEMAN: No use, Champ! You’re in the middle of the ring, might as well tap out! LERAY: I can’t believe it! “Lord” Taylor Thorin could well win the JWA Title without the DQ stipulation!
Caine remembers the leg of Thorin’s that he had been working previously and begins pounding on with his fist. Thorin loosens the deathlock in an attempt to make some room and Caine rolls out of the way. Both men make their way to opposite sides of the ring, using the ropes to get to their feet.
LERAY: Both competitors are somewhat hobbled, but the champion is clearly the worse for wear! BEEMAN: Yeah, neither of these two are gonna win an ass-kicking contest in their state. But one guy who still has use of both legs is Earl Jackson, and he’s just picked up a steel chair from ringside! LERAY: He’s making his way to the ring! What does he have planned?!

The two competitors make their way towards each other and Thorin immediately stomps Caine's injured knee and follows up with a knife edge chop. With Caine down on one knee, Thorin slaps on standing side headlock and uses his forearms to really grind into Caine's throat and face. As Haberdashery is monitoring the situation and verbally warning Thorin, Earl Jackson sets the chair he's carrying in the corner of the ring nearest Caine and moves around to the far side of the ring.
LERAY: What exactly is Earl Jackson setting up here?! BEEMAN: And why did he leave the chair there?! That's nowhere near His Lordship? LERAY: And why would he want to place the chair nearer to "Lord" Thorin?? BEEMAN: Uh... y'know... for a seat in between rounds! LERAY: This isn't boxing, as well you know!
Earl Jackson is now on the side of the ring closest to Thorin and Haberdashery: he climbs the apron and starts yelling at the ref. Haberdashery goes to admonish Earl and Thorin is looking around confused. He drops Caine and goes to Earl also, asking the "pillock" what he thinks he's playing at.
LERAY: There seems to be some miscommunication between Thorin and his ringhand! BEEMAN: No miscommunication, I understand him perfectly: Earl Jackson is acting like a pillock!
Meanwhile, Caine is back on his feet. He clutches his throat and steps back towards the corner to steady himself, accidentally stepping on the chair as he goes. Caine looks at the chair, then over to Earl Jackson.
JACKSON (to Caine): Do it! Get him! LERAY: It's a double cross! Earl Jackson has betrayed Thorin and wants Caine to lay his old boss out with the chair and retain the belt! BEEMAN: The dog! LERAY: Thorin has figured it out and he's incensed! He's trying to warn Haberdashery but it's just causing more confusion. And now Conor Caine has the chair in his hands!
Caine looks at the chair and then to Thorin. He begins breathing heavily, huffing and puffing like a bull ready to charge.
LERAY: If Conor Caine ever wanted to pay Thorin back for all his cheap shots and dirty victories, Earl Jackson has provided him an opportunity for the ultimate poetic justice! BEEMAN: If he swings that chair, he's showing his true colours! His Lordship tried to warn us that Caine was nothing but a thug, and we're about to see the truth once and for all!
Caine throws the chair out of the ring to cheers from the fans. He advances on Thorin, who's a little stunned by the goings on and tries again to signal Haberdashery.
LERAY: Right hands from Caine! He's a house of fire right now! An Irish whip into the ropes... Thorin ducks the clothesline attempt and OUCH! He collides with Earl Jackson on the apron! BEEMAN: The back of Thorin's head crashed into Earl Jackson's face as he hit the ropes! He's stunned! LERAY: Thorin is rebounded back to Caine and... RAISING CAINE!!! The cover! One! Two!! THREE!!!
Caine takes the belt from Haberdashery and climbs a turnbuckle to celebrate with the fans.
BEEMAN: This is completely unfair! If Thorin hadn't collided with Earl Jackson he might have evaded that finishing maneouver and went on to win the title! LERAY: And finally, "Lord" Taylor Thorin's use of managers to help him get ahead actually costs him a victory! BEEMAN: You saw it! Earl Jackson was up there on the apron trying to help Conor Caine! That should count as a DQ against Caine! This is an injustice, Mick! LERAY: That's quite the interpretation of events, Sean! You've been hanging out with too many shady lawyers! Either way, we might not have seen the resolution to this feud between Conor Caine and "Lord" Taylor Thorin just yet!
