JWA Glory Episode 155 - Super Glory Preview Mixed Tag Match

Greetings, grapple fans!

We're just one week away from Super Glory and tonight's main event is a preview of two of the matches set to take place on that card. On one side tonight will be JWA World Heavyweight Champion "Relentless" Conor Caine, and his partner will be Daisy Turner, who will challenge for the JWA Women's World Championship. On the other side of the ring will be Caine's challenger, The Dutch Destroyer Tommy End, and he will be teaming with the Women's World Champion Winter Hex. Each team will be looking to get any sliver of advantage that they can heading into next week's supercard. Then you can add on top of that all of the recent drama that has unfolded involving Daisy Turner's ex-boyfriend Joel, his involvement with the ever present Miss Jessie, the altercation that took place last week in the locker room involving Red Pirate Rogers and his crew as well as Omega Satyros, Arizona Chance, and others. It's looking more and more like tonight's main event is a powder keg on the brink of exploding, and we're just moments away from finding out if it does!

(The polls will be open for at least 24 hours. It doesn't matter who you vote for, just that you participate!)

Last week Duke Mongoose defeated Troglo in an exciting match, which leads to the other match taking place next week at Super Glory - Duke Mongoose & Penguino defend the World Tag Team Championship against Big Waves. How will Duke's victory impact the former two-time tag champs? Will it have any impact at all? What does Penguino think about Duke's antics as of late? All questions we hope to answer tonight, and next week at Super Glory.

Arizona Chance put the lid on a potential team with Omega Satyros last week and announced that he is working on a new film instead, and plans to include members of the JWA roster in the cast. While I would be honored to be included in a major motion picture, I think we'd all prefer to see Arizona in the ring instead of on the big screen. And where does this decision leave Satyros? He seemingly called out our own "Savvy" Sean Beeman to produce a worthwhile opponent to represent the Beeman Family against Omega. Will Beeman have anyone to reveal tonight? And what implications will this have for our beloved commentary team?

Chief Buffalo showed us last week during the locker room altercation that, while he's a character of somewhat questionable moral fiber, at the end of the day he knows what's right. Buffalo is still trying to get the rest of the money he is owed from Miss Jessie and Winter Hex for being their partner a few weeks back. I won't be shocked if the big Chief gets involved in some manner in tonight's main event.

Red Pirate Rogers seems to have set his sights on "Lord" Taylor Thorin, who I have mentioned before has been absent from our television sets as of late. I can imagine that the Red Pirate's antics will only anger his lordship, but who can say for sure. Perhaps Rogers' focus will be slightly redirected, seeing as crew member Vinny Bambino appeared to be taking Joel under his wing following the locker room incident.

There's certainly a lot going on in JWA right now, so let's get to it! Get out there and work your gimmick!

[Pierre The Enormous]

*We see Mick and Sean getting ready to commentate and Sean is mumbling about something*

Leray: Something wrong?

Beeman: I can't find a pair of matching socks.....

Leray: Happens to the best of us....

Beeman: THIS IS DIFFERENT SOMEONE MUST'VE STOLE ALL MY SOCKS....

Leray: No one stole your socks you must've lost them to the dryer....

Beeman: I'm getting to the bottom of this

Leray: Someone needs to sort out their priorities

*off to the side we see Huggy giggling*

[Duke Mongoose]

Honest Sal: Please welcome my guest at this time, he is one half of the JWA World Tag Team Champions... Duke Mongoose!

(The fans boo as Duke struts his way through the curtain and over to the podium. He poses and flexes to the delight of no one)

Sal: Well, Duke, you surprised a lot of people when you put Troglo to sleep last week.

Duke: Why is that a surprise, Sally Boy? Big Daddy Duke don't write checks with his mouth that he can't cash in the ring!

Sal: Some might say that you used some underhanded tactics by getting Troglo's stuffed bear Huggy Bear involved.

Duke: Hey, all's fair in love and wrestling! People were accusing me for weeks of poking the bear, so I thought I might as well live up to the expectations! Ha ha ha!

Sal: That's awful. Moving on, next week you'll be defending the tag team championship alongside Penguino against the two-time former champions Big Waves.

Duke: That's right, Sally Boy! We're going to defend the belts and successfully retain the belts! Birds of a feather! Well, maybe not exactly...

Sal: Because a mongoose is not a bird?

Duke: NO! It's because I wonder if my boy Penguino is really cut out to be my tag team champion partner. Let's take a look at the past month. I've beaten Pierre The Eggnormous and his half-wit troglodyte friend, whereas "my boy" got beat by the Dud of Wales! It seems like one of us isn't upholding their half of the deal.

Sal: Do you think it's wise to speak so poorly of your tag team partner heading into such a huge match at Super Glory?

Duke: Big Daddy Duke doesn't care about hurting Penguino's feelings. If Penguino wants to remain a tag team champion, he'll shape up, fly right, and do what I tell him to do.

Sal: Penguins can't fly.

Duke: Don't you ever get tired of being right all the time?

Sal: So you're confident that Penguino will do his best to retain the tag titles next week at Super Glory?

Duke: Let's just say that if he doesn't... well......

(Duke removes his sunglasses and stares menacingly into the camera, then slowly moves out of the shot)

Sal: There you have it. Let's get back to the action!

[Pierre The Enormous]

*I lumber my way to the podium*

Sal: Hey Pierre!

Pierre: Hi Sal

Sal: What are your thoughts on Duke....

Pierre: Someone needs to duct tape his mouth shut.... to put it bluntly

Sal: I see

Pierre: Also he needs his Chirpy to be suspended....

Sal: True

Pierre: Anyway I'm sure everyone here is looking forward to him getting knocked from here to the North Pole

*the crowd cheers*

Sal: Probably

Pierre: Anyway I gotta go Jax wants me for security

Sal: See ya Pierre

Pierre: See ya Sal

Sal: I'm Honest Sal and that's the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth

[Thumper Moore III]

The arena goes dark as Hysteria by Muse plays. Arizona is silhouetted in a single spotlight, and as the full band kicks in, the arena lights come back on. He heads to the ring, rolls in, and grabs a microphone.

“I made a big announcement last week about the fifth and final Arizona Chance film being in pre-production. After my success in Pirates of the Lost Ark, The Legion of Boom, The Not Quite Last Crusade, and The Alien Crystal Skulls, I’d like to announce the official title for film number five: Arizona Chance and the Sundial of Fate! I’d also like to announce— and bring out— my love interest for this film.”

Dynamite by BTE begins to play as the JWA Studio is bathed in red, blue, yellow, and green spotlights. Veronica Chance walks from behind the curtain, and she begins Alex Wright dancing her way down the aisle, occasionally stopping to press her finger to her lips and then to a child’s cheek as the child starts dancing. She steps between the first and second ropes that are held open by her husband. She grabs the microphone from Arizona.

“I’m so glad to be here— I’ve missed you all! Even though my brief foray into the world of wrestling is over, it opened the door to entertainment as a whole— and it opened up a new way for Arizona and I to spend time, and our lives together! We’ll be contacting several members of the JWA roster about having roles in the upcoming film in the coming weeks, and I just can’t wait to tell you all more as soon as we know the details! As for now, please be patient as these mid-budget films do take time to get things arranged. Just be assured the we will be chasing gold together on the silver screen!”

Arizona grabs the mic back. “And nobody chases gold like Arizona and Veronica Chance!”

[Daisy Turner]

Barracuda plays and out comes Daisy Turner

Beeman: Do you think Joel and Miss Jessie may play a factor in this match

LeRay: I don't think so. Joel is somewhere with the pirate crew and Miss Jessie should learn her lesson from last mixed tag match.

Daisy is in the ring

LeRay: And now we wait the arrival of the World Champion

["The Reminiscer" Winter Hex]

(takes place after Conor Caine's entrance)

Secret plays and out comes Miss Jessie and the Women's World Champion Winter Hex

Beeman: Here, lies greatness

LeRay: Greatness? She's what I call scummy. Stealing Daisy's boyfriend is a new low

Beeman: C'mon all that happened was Joel figuring out he has the hots for a champion like Winter Hex

LeRay: You seriously believe that. No she definitely did something to make him like this. Not saying he's in the right but she definitely instigated everything.

Winter enters the ring and the girls go at each other, punches, slaps, catfights. The referee and Miss Jessie hold Winter back while Conor Caine single handedly holds Daisy back (She pretty much deadweight to him).

Beeman: C'mon I wanted to see more!

LeRay: You'll definitely see more when the Dutch Destroyer makes his way out.

[Dark Mauler]

*Tommy End’s music begins to play, and the Dutchman walks out, and makes his way to the ring.*
LeRay: Here’s Tommy End, and he looks about as disinterested to be here as I’ve ever seen him.
Beeman: There’s a reason for that, Mick. Tommy told me that he’s got no interest in getting an injury before his title challenge at Super Glory. And he definitely doesn’t want to let Conor Caine in on his gameplan for the match.
LeRay: Tommy enters the ring as the referee signals for the bell, and the Dutch Destroyer instantly tags his teammate Winter Hex into the match. Odd though, Tommy’s never been one to shy from a fight before this.
(OOC: Apologies, but I’m not going to be able to post anything tomorrow, the place where I’m working right now is out in the sticks and I’ll have absolutely zero service.)

[“The Relentless” Conor Caine]

Conor Caine smirks and nods to Tommy, and steps between the ropes to the apron...

 LeRay: Conor Caine seeming to somewhat respect the strategy of Tommy End, but perhaps not agreeing with it?
Beeman: Of course he doesn't agree with it. The JWA Champion is a moron with no respect - scratch that: no understanding! - of smart tactics!

["The Reminiscer" Winter Hex]

Daisy steps into the ring and they charge towards each other, Winter spears Daisy down and they both start punching each other

LeRay: Ladies nd gentlemen, these ladies don't want to wrestle each other, they want to beat the crap out of each other

Beeman: Woohoo! C'mon Winter! Knock her out!

LeRay: Sean!

Daisy throws Winter off of her and kip up to her feet she starts kicking down on Winter but Miss Jessie takes Winter to the outside. Daisy runs back and prepares to fly. As she runs towards the ropes Tommy End gets in her way. The two start arguing until out of nowhere Daisy plants a huge kiss on Tommy

LeRay & Beeman: What The HELL!?

Beeman: I'm confused, what just happened!?

LeRay: She just kissed him?

Tommy seems confused and when he looks up Daisy is charging towards him, spears him to the outside crashing on Winter Hex & Miss Jessie.

LeRay: Daisy just took all 3 out!

Beeman: Quite an unusual method if you ask me

Daisy gets back into the ring she walks over to Conor Caine and proceeds to have a normal conversation as she waits for Winter to get back in the ring.

[Daisy Turner]

Winter get back in the ring at the count of 7 and Daisy gets ready for a test of strength

LeRay: Looks like they're going to actually wrestle

Beeman: C'mon Winter! Show her who's boss

Winter wins the test of strength and goes for the cover 1, Kickout!

LeRay: I guess Daisy saw it coming

as both ladies get up Daisy goes for a hurricanrana but Winter catches her and throws her up for a powerbomb. She gets up grabs her legs and turns around for a sharpshooter. Daisy is screaming in agony. Daisy struggles to move right so her only option is to go forwards the exact opposite and furthest side of the ring. It will be painful but she has to do it, Daisy crawls and crawls but she only makes it halfway before winter lets go.

LeRay: She let go out of what? Pity?

Winter picks up Daisy gets her ready for a German suplex and she hits it with a pin combo 1, 2, Kickout!

Beeman: Both ladies are down can they make the tag to their male partners?

[“The Relentless” Conor Caine]

Conor Caine stomps his foot on the apron to rally the crowd, before stepping up on the second rope and leaning as far as he can into the ring, reaching towards the immobile Daisy Turner for a tag.

LeRay: Turner is miles away from her partner, but Conor Caine is willing her with all he has to move! Meanwhile, Tommy End looks completely apathetic towards Winter Hex.]
Beeman: It's no way to end a main event, but a double 10 count would play right into Tommy's strategy: end this match without having to engage his Super Glory opponent!
LeRay: Not if Conor Caine gets his way. He's looking to put on a show for these people as he continues to rally for Daisy.
Beeman: Fat lot of good it's doing him! The ref's count continues to go up and these ladies haven't moved an inch!

[Omega Satyros]

Fans in the audience turn to the Jerktron to see Tommy Tough and the Malarkey Brothers walking backstage, laughing up a storm about their involvement in crushing Daisy Turner's spirit after they helped Winter Hex reveal Joel's affair with her. They happen upon a plush bear.

Omega: Don't worry Troglo, he should be around here somewhere.

Troglo nods as they happen upon Tommy Tough and the Malarkeys, who are just staring down at Huggy Bear, sat next to a pile of left socks. Troglo happily picks up his friend, who claims that these three had taken him from the locker room.

Troglo: You take Huggy Bear?!

Tommy: Hey, we haven't touched that thing.

Troglo isn't convinced, handing Huggy Bear off to Omega in order to chase after the Beeman Family, Tommy Tough managing to get away, but the Malarkey Brothers both being sent through a wall at the hands of the legend.

Huggy Bear: In a speech bubble: Well, that went perfectly.

Troglo comes back, Omega passing Huggy Bear back to him, before heading to the ring.

Omega enters the ring, Beeman shouting at him from the announce table.

Omega: Well Beeman, time's just about up. You have 30 seconds to announce your new signing, or it'll be my plan for Super Glory.

[“The Relentless” Conor Caine]

LeRay: The ladies are moving to their respective corners, crawling inch by inch and the crowd is going crazy for the impending showdown between Conor Caine and Tommy End!

Daisy is getting closer to Caine, who's hitting the top turnbuckle pad as he reaches out his hand.

LeRay: It's about to go down -- but wait!

Just as Daisy leaps to tag Caine in, Miss Jessie pulls The Relentless One off the mat by his ankles. At the other side of the ring, Tommy End steps off the apron to avoid being tagged in by Winter Hex.

LeRay: Why would Miss Jessie stop Daisy from tagging out while her friend Winter is in such bad shape?!
Beeman: She's in no worse shape than Daisy, who looks ready to be pinned!

Daisy is enraged, she's leaning out through the ropes yelling at Miss Jessie, who takes the opportunity to slap Daisy across the face.

LeRay: A cheap shit by Miss Jessie and Winter Hex is quick to capitalise with a roll up from behind!
Beeman: Just like I said!
LeRay: Daisy kicks out just before the three count and Caine is calling for the tag again!

[Red Pirate Rogers]

[Vignette]

Red Pirate Rogers and his colorful crew are scouting a map over high-spirited action/adventure music. Then we see cuts to several locations

Kenny Wynn points a cutlass at a group of men in fox riding habits. They all panic and fall, but shake their heads when Kenny shows a picture of Thorin.

Chase Victory jumps atop a tea trolley and ladies in big hats look scandalized (and a little titilated), but shake their heads when shown a picture of Thorin.

Peter Dombroski swings through a lobster tank at a restaurant with tuxedoed servers, and runs out screaming because...you know...he just crashed through a glass tank and has lobsters pinching his butt. But we see the maitre d' reviewing the dropped picture and saying "Lord Thorin...why I can't recall the last time I saw him..."

Finally Rogers and Vinny rise up over the foot of a bed with a prone man lying on it, the camera reveals that the man is a sleeping Trembleberry who wakes up to discover the pirates looming nearby and gives a start.

Rogers: "Hold fast there Mr. Trembleberry, we bear you no ill will..."

Vinny: "just a small grudge against your lord..."

Trembleberry: "m'lord...?"

Rogers: "Precisely..."

Trembleberry: "have you seen him?"

Vinny: "Uh...no, that's why we're here, when did you last see him?"

Trembleberry: "Oh...I haven't (he turns to the side table) I keep a spot for his well wishes, but I suppose as I was the one who purchased and sent them, he likely didn't think to return the favor."

Vinny: "Dang, another dead end."

Rogers: "One moment, Trembleberry...do you mean to tell me that the man you have dedicated your career to hasn't sent you a note or been to see you?"

Trembleberry: "Well...I..."

Rogers: "My dear man...how awful. You deserve much better. I know, I shall stay for your daily Tapioca pudding!"

(Trembleberry smiles and Vinny winces as Rogers plops down at the valet's side)
