JWA Glory Episode 173 - Destiny Preview Tag Match

[Red Pirate Rogers]

Rogers does a little pirouette and then crashes face first into the ground like an old Tex Avery cartoon near the opponents' corner.

Beeman: That's it. That's it! Oh thank you Chad Shredsbury thank you!

LeRay: For hitting Rogers?

Beeman: For giving us all a beautiful image of Rogers falling down like a buffoon!! Hey, can one of the computer dweebs fix it so I have that on every screen ever for the rest of my life?

LeRay: Boy I hope not, but Shredsbury has the advantage here and, oh what cruelty, a surfboard hold! He's standing on Rogers' legs and pulling up with everything he's got...Shredsbury is laughing!

Beeman: Of course he is! It's funny!!

LeRay: Rogers in trouble, and clearly in pain, oh, and Shredsbury lets go, toying with Rogers now as he steps off the legs and rubs his nose in the mat.

Beeman: (Laughing) Oh, oh no...stop...stop....I'm gonna cry it's so funny and beautiful....

LeRay: (Suddenly Rogers uses a scorpion kick to catch Chad under the armpits and shock him with a roll up) WOAH! How in the!! 1...2...no! My goodness fans, Red Pirate Rogers almost managed to pull off the impossible, but Chad Shredsbury kicks out and Rogers is scampering to the corner...YES! he tags Arizona!

[Thumper Moore III]

LERAY: Chad is begging off, he turns and sprints but no! Chance grabs him by his hair, turns him around and lays into the challenger to his title!

BEEMAN: That’s not the plan!

LERAY: Chance grabs Shredsbury, takes him to the corner— Crystal Skull Crusher! Eight, nine, ten skull bashes! Chad is dazed, staggering to the middle of the ring— a Lost Ark Lariat decks him! Chance to the top rope— Legion of Boom Drop! He quickly picks up Chad— Modified Michinoku Driver drops him on his head! Chad stays down. Arizona to the second rope, he’s beckoning Chad to get up… and Chance is shoved to the mat from behind by Mack Caliber!

BEEMAN: Atta boy, Mack! Great teamwork there!

LERAY: Chance up quickly— he spears Caliber right off the apron to the floor! But as Chance’s head is still on the second rope, Chad lands a huge kick to Arizona’s flank! That may have caught him in the kidney, Sean.

BEEMAN: With the way Arizona collapsed there, I wouldn’t doubt it. That or the liver.

LERAY: Either way, Chad may have caused some internal damage to Chance and he regains control.

[Chad Shredsbury]

Beeman. Chad, look at the conditioning on this guy. Ready to go again after Chance hit him with everything he had. Slingshots himself over the top and delivers a picture perfect guillotine legdrop to your so-called champion.

LeRay. He is the champion. But yes, that was a brutal move with Arizona’s neck hung across the middle rope like that.

Beeman. And there’s the pose and the hang loose that everybody—

LeRay. Absolutely loathes. I honestly can’t believe what happened to this guy.

Beeman. He woke up. You should too. And now, Chance still hung there on the second rope with his head out there for the taking.

LeRay. And Shredsbury comes running from the arena floor with a dropkick to Arizona’s face! Wow, that was almost like a drive by!! The champ was knocked back into the ring by that impact but I’m not sure if he’s conscious.

Beeman. I love it!

LeRay. But he comes Red Pirate Rogers with a plancha over the top to wipe out Shredsbury on the floor! Suddenly Chance has the advantage as the ref begins a ten count to Chad.

Beeman. That’s disgusting! How can you approve of such skullduggery?!

[Red Pirate Rogers]

Rogers gets up slowly and looks down at Chad, he sees Arizona still out cold in the ring, and Chad out on the floor, and Mack standing in the opposite corner, not inclined to open himself up to an attack from his future opponent (and former teammate). He gestures broadly as if to ask "aren't you coming to help?" and when there is no movement, he hoists himself up as the ref continues the count, and begins urging Arizona to come 'round.

LeRay: There's a team for you, Rogers and Chance continuing to watch out for eachother, but it looks like the marriage of convenience between Chad and Mack is a little more tenuous

Beeman: Yeah, a couple of no good cheats. Mack isn't going to pity Chad, or cheat on his behalf to give them an advantage!

(Arizona is stirring in the ring, and as the count hits six, Chad is up on his knees)

LeRay: No doubt about it, Chad's a man who deserves to be fought, it's only natural Rogers would be the one to do it, and it looks like Chad's going to be able to get back in this match, but will he be facing a still dazed Arizona, or a refreshed Red Pirate Rogers?

(Chad slides back in as the count hits 9, and sees Arizona crawling for Rogers, rather than stop he looks to Caliber and rolls towards his teammate)

LeRay: Tag made by Arizona! Will Chad get there too? NO! Rogers catches him by the boot with Chad's hand still outstretched.

(Rogers makes a "wave bye bye" gesture as Chad flails, then twists the surfer around and uses a catapult move to launch Shredsbury towards the Adventurer's corner, dazed and slumped Rogers comes over)

LeRay: Shredsbury all set up for the Swashbuckler...but...no Rogers is taking him away...ooh a Kamtchatka Crunch Leg Sweep...

Beeman: Dirty pirate is looking to get even with Chad!

LeRay: I think you may be right, after the surfboard from Shredsbury, Rogers is thinking of the Figurehead, and...yes! he has it!!!

[Thumper Moore III]

LERAY: Chad is reaching for the ropes. He can’t get there. He’s straining to not tap out— he waves at Caliber to assist. Caliber through the ropes— he’s laid out by Chance with a Lost Ark Lariat out of nowhere!

BEEMAN: Told you Chance is a cheater. He’s the illegal man attacking the other illegal man.

LERAY: Chance uses his last bit of energy to lock the Spinning Toe Hold on Mack Caliber! That’s the move he used to win the championship! Referee Francis X McCorry is laser focused on Rogers trying to submit Shredsbury in the Figurehead, will he be able to hold out?

[Thumper Moore III]

LERAY: Caliber rolls over and the momentum knocks Chance into Rogers, breaking the hold. Chance stands and shrugs at Rogers, then they both duck a Mack Caliber clothesline, and Caliber is met with a double clothesline from the Adventurers and is knocked outside the ring.

BEEMAN: Cheap shot!

LERAY: Chance is directing traffic— Rogers is instructed to go to the top rope. Chance picks up Chad, whips him into the ropes— Lost Ark Lariat! Rogers off the top— Cliffs of Craziness! One, two, three! Rogers pins the number one contender for the title the week before his opportunity, and he and Arizona build momentum into their respective P4V matches.
