Another amazing looking Wrestler. I was on the fence originally about whether to play MMW when it comes out, as I'm so invested and still having plenty of fun with 80sMWR. But after seeing the first couple of sneak peeks at what's to come, I can definitely day I'm all in.
Side note: Glad I put Samoan Drop under Patriot in my suggested moves list, seeing as it would fit with Son of Samoa and he's listed as a Patriot.

I like the original characters, but I’m not sure how much real money I’ll invest in the new game. A big part of the appeal to the original is that the in-game characters are pretty closely tied with “real life” characters. Not saying it’s a bad thing, just my 2 cents. Who knows, maybe I’ll like it better.

Son of Samoa is a "real" wrestler. While you can not actually say for certain he is based on wrestler x or pop icon y, he does represent the many, many wrestlers from the island which came to us over the decades. And the way they are portrayed now is way better than the savage cannibal roots they were stuck into the 60's, 70's, and even early 80's in.

Son of Samoa is a "real" wrestler. While you can not actually say for certain he is based on wrestler x or pop icon y, he does represent the many, many wrestlers from the island which came to us over the decades. And the way they are portrayed now is way better than the savage cannibal roots they were stuck into the 60's, 70's, and even early 80's in. Right, he is the token Samoan wrestler and there have been a lot of Samoan wrestlers, no one is debating that. But you have to agree that the characters for Modern Mania are not as closely associated with actual wrestlers as the previous games (ex Dude Brohan to Hulk Hogan). This character is not familiar enough to say he’s the Samoa Joe or Umaga of the game. That could be a good thing, it’s preference. |

He could be Roman reigns, because the height matches up, but I kinda hope it isn't, cuz I'm hoping for a faction based on The SHIELD. Great art tho.

But that is an impossibility, because everyone has a different frame of reference than the other person. For example, I got out of wrestling in the late '80s. I can barely tell you about 90s wrestlers. And even then, I was a WWF guy. So anything from somewhere else will be over my head. But give me a manga or anime ref, and I'll get it. I don't expect someone to get what I got out of character x, and your easy wrestling reference on character y might go over my head |

He could just not be based on anyone tho. Son of Samoa is the name of a street gang, so maybe that's where they got the name.
