Sad to hear about the passing of former NWA champ and King of the Ring Harley Race today.
Race was one of the most legitimate tough guys in the industry. Universally, if you asked who the toughest guy ever to wrestle was, it was... Meng. But after that it was usually Race.
He was also one of the best sellers ever, with tremendous facial expressions. He was truly a master of in-ring storytelling.

R.I.P Harley Race. Not a fan of his WWF stuff but go look at footage from a lot of the older promotions he was in throughout the 70's and 80's. Man is an absolute workhorse and a great promo too. The angle in 83 he had with Flair and the bounty is the stuff of legend.

One of the biggest badasses to ever step foot in the ring.

Universally respected by the wrestling industry. Sadly I never got to see him in his prime but I did read about him before he joined WWF as king Harley Race.but over the years have been able to go back and watch his work and he was the genuine article and he's so loved by so many wrestlers. You listen to shoot interviews with guys from back in the day and they have at some of the funniest stories ever about Harley.
RIP

Bruno, Dusty, Harley, Roddy. Some of the greatest to ever do it. It seems like the amount of legends alive shrinks every year. But it's not like they didn't accomplish anything, they're the definition of legends.

I met him once... gotta respect his talent and abilities in the ring. Out of the ring however, I was very disappointed. He was doing a training seminar in NC and following the seminar, there was a show that most of the seminar participants were involved in. He sat at his table and talked to his driver the entire show... I never once saw him watching the action in the ring. It was kinda like, "I'm just here to get paid and don't care about anything else."
