Yep. Total garbage. First of all, why does a character like the Fiend care about a title? Second, he kicked out of ELEVEN curb stomps... at a one count. Not even a near fall. In kayfabe, you’d basically have to double tap him with a shotgun to the mask to put him down for three at this point. Third, a no contest ending to the match designed to force you in every way possible to get a decision— for the second friggin year in a row— diminishes the match. Fourth, the red lighting killed viewing for the Network audience.

If a PPV ends with the audience shouting for a refund, you’ve probably made one of the worst booking decisions in wrestling history outside of WCW 2000-2001. Did WWE hire Vince Russo back?

i agree with everything you said except the thing about the title. The Fiend is still a Wrestler, & a wrestlers goal is to win titles, even Undertaker & Kane. But everything else I totally agree with. If you don't wanna take the title off Rollins or have the Fiend lose, don't book the damn match! 2 years in a row they have a FUCKING hell in a cell match end in DQ, no contest whatever the hell it was. I'm honestly pissed, & doesn't take much to entertain me.

Haven't watched a full ppv or tv show excluding NXT by the WWE in over a decade but just reading what went on and the overall reaction makes me think they put idiots in charge of that decision. If they want to make the Fiend alter ego of Bray Wyatt look powerful and like a monster movie villain they should have had Rollins hit him twice with the hammer then Fiend no sells it, puts the claw on Rollins, hits him with Sister Abigail and then pins him for the belt. Have the announcers play up the shock value of a disgusting creature destroying the chosen one and give him a reign with the title. Don't involve Becky Lynch, don't do the dumb Triple H mentor angle, just give the Fiend a run with the belt and have him steamroll people for months. Have Rollins go into a long period of self doubt and really play up the supposed immortality of Bray's split persona. Give it a 6-9 month build and have Rollins beat him at a Mania the following year or Summerslam or whatever doesn't matter. Make it mean something or stop doing the stupid ass puppet segments on Raw and stop having Bray wear the goofy masks if they won't treat it seriously.

I don't think the championship belt is important to every wrestler's character, or at least shouldn't be. I can't speak for how every wrestler handles their character, and the producers handle the scripts for all promotions today. However, back in the day, it made sense that some were only in the business because they could fight and beat people up without going to jail for it. It was a contracted match, and what the ref didn't see was all free game for down and out free brawling. Some characters should want the belt to prove they are they best at their craft, or one of the best and working their way up. Some characters should want it just to annoy the people that feel the are deserving of it (think Stonecold only wanting to be champion because Vince McMahon was forced to make someone he hated in Kayfabe as the "Face of the Company). Some today should even want it for all the additional promotional sponsorship or crazy paycheck bonuses of being on other mainstream venues that it brings to some if they can become in the super-Dee-duper popular elite (Rock, Hogan, Cena). But there are some characters, I believe, that shouldn't care about any championship title, but are just plain mean badass bullies that want to go in the ring and punish someone for no reason, and get paid to do it.

definitely, I don't even think the Fiend needs the title, but if you're gonna put him in the title match this early, then just give him the Title. He's one of those guys who's at a point where a title isn't really needed, even tho itd be cool to see. Either way dumb finish to a HIAC match. Hopefully they stop doing "no contests" in a match that's supposed to be so brutal it doesn't matter how far you take it.

it'd be one thing if somebody takes a brutal fall off the cell like Mankind & gets stretchered out, but a sledgehammer? A weapon that's been used plenty in HIAC is suddenly more devastating? Cody Rhodes was hit with one by HHH in HIAC & there wasn't a no contest. & Cody wasn't even supposed to be an unstoppable monster like the fiend.
