Interesting results. Did you use the same sponsors in the same spots? That seems to be the only possible variable besides segment rating

Yep. As best I could. I think the card was slightly different but it was just the order of the matches.

So this seems to confirm that attendance is totally random. However, attendance seems to be a multiplier to your earnings that are determined by your star rating. FWIW, this is plainly stated in the Help section: "A better rated show will earn more game cash."

Absolutely. That's what made me run the experiment. But it's things like that that arn't super intuitive. In the real world, the house makes money based on attendance. In the game the house makes money based on the rating. Like if Dave Melzer's opinion of the show was what made the money.
Not a criticism or saying anything needs to change. Just not super intuitive.
Next thing I really wonder about is the cheers and boos and how it affects the match.

The cheers and boos are a heavy impact on your segment rating, I'm just not sure what triggers them and what exactly skill level plAys into ratings. I said previously, if you put the right "type" with a high rating into a non-match segment, you're pretty much guaranteed a good segment rating. With a match I can't work with the same certainty, though. 2 high skilled opponents will go get a collective 5 cheers/boos and pull off *. I don't understand the variation
