Not sure how anyone else feels about them, but they don't really seem to make much sense. Case in point, Britt Baker and Kris Statlander are going to fight for the #1 contendership for Riho's Women's World Championship... despite Hikaru Shida being the #1 ranked woman.
In place of the overall records, I feel like they would be best served to have "momentum" rankings based on the last 3 or 5 matches. This would be much more indicative of how a wrestler or team is being pushed.
Hypothetical: Peter Avalon is 0-7. He goes on a 7 match win streak. His record is now 7-7. That's not an impressive record and doesn't indicate that he's been very successful lately. But if they went by "Last 5 matches" he'd be 5-0 which is impressive and would explain why he's getting a shot at a title or fighting for a shot at a title.
Thoughts?

I like that AEW displays the win-loss records of the wrestlers, but I agree it is a flawed system. It's still early days for them though, so maybe they are still trying to iron out the flaws at the moment. Personally I would've gone for some sort of points-based system to determine the order of contenders. A win over a top athlete like Omega should give you a bigger boost than a win over Cutler. Similarly losing to Mox shouldn't drop you down the leadtable as much as a loss to QT Marshall. Lets see how they do in 2020. At least they're trying to make some sense of this, on RAW and Smackdown they seem to hand out title shots without rhyme or reason.
As far as the women's division is concerned: It was implied during the Swole - Sakura match that Shida was just barely ahead of in the rankings going into the match. Maybe Statlander and Baker won on Dark?

Maybe Statlander and Baker won on Dark? I imagine this is the case, based on the rankings released on Friday. But that's another issue I have with AEW. Since every match counts because they don't do non-televised events, you end up with a weird disconnect between Wednesday night's show, Friday's rankings, and Tuesday's YouTube show (which, in all honesty, I gave up on after 4 weeks. Some matches are Dark for a reason). From a logical standpoint, you would have had Baker and Statlander's matches on Dynamite so that the people who don't watch all of the internet stuff (like me) wouldn't be questioning why the #1 ranked woman wouldn't be in the #1 contender's match.

If it were up to me I would move Dark to Friday or Saturday and release the updated rankings at the beginning of the week. It is weird that updated rankings on Friday include results of matches that we have no possible way of seeing at that moment.

We're not so different, you and I.

I think releasing the rankings before Dark might even discourage people from watching it. If you pay close attention on Friday you can already figure out what is going to happen on Tuesday.
