Does anyone else think this? When I was little I'd watch Ed Edd n Eddy & there was a unique art style, fun stories, fun characters who all had their own unique personality. I'd watch fairly odd parents & get a completely different but still great cartoon. Different art style, different cast of characters, fun unique stories. I could go on about other cartoons like Batman the animated series, regular show, adventure time, Young Justice, teen Titans, etc. But I feel like over the past 8 years or so cartoons have been declining. The art styles all bland & generic, nothing's unique anymore. Every cartoon looks the same. Stories are stupid, but not in a fun way. The biggest example is Teen Titans Go. Bland art style, & awful stories. There's a fucking episode about then saying waffle the whole time. I loved the original Teen Titans cartoon from 2003 & this show isn't even the same thing, which could be a good thing, but not like this. I don't mean to go on a rant like the old man yelling at a cloud(I'm a teenager lol), & I know these cartoons do bring joy to some people, mainly little kids, which are the main target but I just feel like they're missing out. but I just hate the modern cartoons personally. There's still good ones, like my sister watches that bear cartoon (idk the name, if someone does then feel free to say) & it seems fun, nice artstyle too. But for the most part cartoons seem to be bland, generic, soulless, with no passion behind them i recommend gravity falls, adventure time,Star vs the forces of evil, regular show, everything past season 1 of the amazing world of gumball, and phineas and ferb

So I'll be going back to the last decade but I do feel like most of these are the best from that time (some of which I haven't seen but heard good news about)
Aggretsuko (not sure if I spelled that right but it's one of the few Netflix originals that I can actually watch) Adventure time (arguably the best from cartoon network) The legend of korra (great sequel to avatar the last airbender) Bojack horseman (never seen but heard it was good) Castlevania (same as bojack horseman) Over the garden wall (easily one of the best mini series) The amazing world of gumball (rough start but turned out great) One punch man (not a fan of anime but heard great things about it) My hero academia (not sure if I spelled that right but same thing with one punch man) Attack on titan (same thing with one punch man) Gravity falls (bad community but great show) Steven universe (same thing with gravity falls) Regular show (I feel like the fans overrated it a bit and when story is attempted it's pretty weak but still a great show) The avengers earths mighty heroes (I think avengers assemble's is still a good show up until they attempt to do new avengers/secret wars but that show pales in comparison to EMH aka the last truly great marvel animated show) TMNT 2012 (not as good as the 03 series but it's still good) Young justice (it feels a bit weaker at season 3 but it's still great)
I have a few more in mind that I think are better for kids but I'll probably list those later

You should check out The Dragon Prince on Netflix. It's made by the folks who made Avatar: Last Airbender (the excellent animated series, not the crappy live action movie). It's absolutely phenomenal.

I know there's still really good cartoons now, I'm just saying there's a lot of bad ones too. Obviously there's always been bad ones but I just see so many now.

Lol Personally, having been born WAAAY back in 1969, I remember the beginning of the Saturday Morning Cartoon Era. Good times. Hell, I remember the first broadcast of the OG Super Friends show. It was my fav as a kid.

I was a 90's kid so we got the best series imo. Animaniacs, BatMan The Animated Series, DBZ, SuperMan, a great SpiderMan show, Dexters Lab, Johnny Bravo, etc.

Coronavirus and the stimulus check gave me an opportunity to buy from Amazon "Gatchaman", bka Battle of the Planets/G-Force. Fifteen discs, including one for the three part ova, one for the movie, and one for the bonus disc. 100+ episodes. As the announcer says, "Look forward to it".

X-men 90s was amazing n so damn hard to watch I always caught it late or had baseball or whatever. . A cartoon that actually had carry over stories all season long or on to other seasons. Characters galore. Nothing will beat gi joe w me but X-men best done cartoon I’ve seen, I watch it on Disney streamer occasionally. An even younger me was he man n thunder cats all the wayyyyy.
