I just realized the other day why Roboelectro throws the old discus punch Roboelectro is based on Tron. Roboelectro 2000? He kinda resembles the old ROM The Spaceknight toy and character.

Figured out today why the Blade Blasters are names Lazer & Buzzsaw. For some reason, Lazer being Sting made sense to me, but I couldn't make a connection between Buzzsaw and either Rock, Dingo, or Ultimate Warrior. Then I realized... Lazer, Buzzsaw, Blade...all are cutting tools. Plus Lazerbeak and Buzzsaw were the clones of each other in the 80s TV show, the Transformers.

Ace Arcadium and Ace of Spades are in reference to the "good" and evil" types of gaming. With Video Games being "good" and Gambling being "evil" The Mullet Cousins I think are a mix between the Hillbilly Family (From WWF in the mid 80's) and Southern Patriots who still carry the confederate flag insisting the South never lost The Civil War. Pat Cabbage is a reference to the Cabbage Patch Kids with his finisher (The Garbage Pail Driver), a reference to the Garbage Pail Kid (a more disgusting version of the Cabbage Pail Kids) Ones I figured out recently Officer Chip, a reference to the CHiPS TV series that ran from 1977 to 1983 Rad Racer, a reference to Xcitebike Hammerhead, reference to Ivan Drago from Rocky 4 Red Pirate Rogers, a reference to Dread Pirate Roberts from The Princess Bride Tennis Pro, reference to the growing popularity of Tennis Papa Chopper, reference to the Mad Max Movies Slashmaster, reference to 80's Slasher Movies most notably Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street. Tennis Pro is directly a John MacEnroe homage (famously angry tennis pro in the 80s).

Warhawk has a dual reference. Probably not, but I have an argument.
John Rambo was a pro wrestler in the AWA who teamed with Col. DeBeers. He feuded with Art Bar of the American Love Machines and even held the AWA tag titles with DeBeers at one point.

What about Gothica? Elvira Mistress of the Night was rad. She was in a Ryan Adams music video a few months back.

It dawned on me yesterday that Dungeon Crawler is Dirk the Daring from Dragon's Lair.
So now the only thing that makes sense to me is Ace of Spades being Space Ace.
And, of course, Robolectro is half Tron half Robocop... not sure about Robolectro 2000 though

Could very well be... unless there's another toy/cartoon that's eluding me at the moment.

Could very well be... unless there's another toy/cartoon that's eluding me at the moment. He could possibly be a nod to R.O.B. (Robotic Operating Buddy) that came out for the NES in 1985. I only say this because their heads are pretty similar.

I only say this because their heads are pretty similar. Rom the Space Buddy. (Can be both, because they like to put together different but similar things into one character.) Boombox = Fat Albert + Fat Boys + L. L. Cool J.'s hat.
