To explain the differences
Pure wrestling- you don't care about promos, gimmicks, gimmicky moves, or most match ups besides the most common ones and you only care about the wrestling
Minimal theater- your fine with promos as long as they're not gimmicky and are a bit more alright with different match types (such as battle royals, ladders [just to climb], Ironman, 2 out of 3 falls, and elimination tag/single/3-way/4-way)
Good amount of theater- you're alright with gimmicks and gimmicky moves as long as they're not too ridiculous/outlandish, you are open to hardcore types of match as long as they're not too hardcore/brutal and are alright with steel cage matches, and your fine with storylines but you'd rather but have them be ridiculous
Overall pure wrestling- you like gimmicks and gimmicky moves although some can still be a bit too ridiculous for your taste, promos are things you've come to enjoy, you can be fine with blood in matches just as long as they don't get a crimson mask andyou like storylines as long as they don't become too ridiculous but you'll still enjoy pure wrestling slightly more
Balanced- a good half and half
Completely theater- you don't care about matches at all just the promos, gimmicks, and storylines as long as they're not vanilla
Minimal pure wrestling- you can watch matches but they have to be completely gimmicky that's filled with gimmicky moves and (in some situations) looks like a complete hardcore mess
Good amount of wrestling- you still enjoy stuff to be overall ridiculous but some are a bit too ridiculous, you can enjoy normal matches but you'd prefer the gimmicky ones but some are ridiculous too you, and you can enjoy more grounded storylines
Overall theater- you prefer things to be gimmicky but not too far outlandish but you still care about those slightly more than pure wrestling

Mostly theater with a good amount of pure wrestling.
A storyline with no match has no conclusion, I would say 25% pure and 75% theater.

Everything but completely theatre.
That's probably the best description of most of the WWE product right now.

I went with balanced because my wrestling taste depends on the talents and company. Sure I can sit and watch something like Lucha Underground which I believe is mostly theater with great wrestling with it because its the story that makes me invested. But I also love NJPW for the way they make wrestling seem legit with press conferences and interviews after their matches. Also being able to go to a NJPW show in America and experiencing how a NJPW crowd reacts was amazing. After every sequence of moves you get a 2-5 second applause. If something shocking happens you get to hear everyone in the crowd go “OHHHHH”. It’s a different experience than WWE. WWE has been mostly theater lately due to the virus but they still put on good shows. And I think it depends on a company because a company like ECW you wont expect it being theatrical because its built around being “extreme” so I would expect more wrestling and action and less talk. Or a more modern example like MLW. It’s called “Major League Wrestling”, so to me I would expect more wrestling based action cause it wants to be known as a “league”. But something like WWE I wont expect very competitive or pure wrestling matches cause it is entertainment.
