Rodd Puttergill: Coming up on Glory this week will be a rematch from the J-1 Finals as Yuppie VP will take on Dyno. If Dyno wins, the JWA World Title match at Super Glory will become a 3 way! Our own Chet Desmond caught up with Yuppie VP earlier this week.
(Chet Desmond is sitting in the back of a darkened room. Yuppie is sitting in the background and on a big screen is the footage of the J-1 Final match)
Chet Desmond: I’m here at Yuppie VP’s apartment where he has been carefully watching his match with Dyno. Yuppie, can I get a word for the viewers?
(Yuppie pauses the video and comes over to where Chet is sitting)
Yuppie: Well Chet, I’ll just say this. Dyno proved to be a greater challenge than I anticipated when we fought before. This time I’ll be more prepared for what he brings to the ring. I’d also like to publicly state that, while I did interfere in his match with Arizona, I meant no disrespect. I’m super focused on getting my third match with Arizona, so I’ll apologize in advance for costing Dyno another shot at the title because there’s no way I’m letting this title match turn into a 3 way.
Chet: Thank you, Yuppie.
Yuppie: My pleasure... wait, how did you get in here?
Chet: Back to you, Rodd!

After showing highlights from the World Title match at Destiny last week, we are taken to a separate studio where two lounge chairs are set up with a table in between. A large jug of water is on the table with two glasses. Dyno and Mick LeRay walk into the studio chatting amicably. LeRay is his usual dapper self and is carrying a bunch of papers, Dyno is dressed simply in jeans, trainers and a shirt with the sleeves rolled up. The pair sit down into the chairs and are set upon by JWA crew members attaching microphones to the pair.
Dyno pours a glass of water for him and LeRay as they settle in. LeRay is given the go-ahead to start.
LERAY: "Welcome everyone to the JWA Studios for my latest exclusive one on one interview. Today I'm joined by the man who was in the main event last weekend at Destiny, losing his World Title shot in circumstances some would were suspicious. Before we get onto that, Dyno, it's been a hell of a ride for you up to that point. In less than a year you've taken home two championships here in the JWA. You have to be happy with that?"
DYNO: "Anyone would be right? I mean you work hard your entire career to win championships and trophies, regardless of the sport you're in. So when you do it of course it feels great at the time, sadly due to the circumstances we found ourselves in, Arliss and I never got to go on to have a decent run with the tag belts but these things happen Mike. What the JWA have done since should give us very worthy tag champs, even if I do look on a little envious."
LERAY: "The J-1 put the focus firmly on the JWA for that period, it gave us some really memorable matches. Are there any that stand out?"
DYNO: "Obviously the final stands out because that was the pinnacle Mike, and Yuppie and I gave it everything we had to take home that trophy and win ourselves the chance to win the main prize and on that night I was the better man. But I thoroughly enjoyed each match as each match was totally different which is testament to the skill level here in the JWA."
LERAY: "You mention the final there, the fans are buzzing about your upcoming re-match with him next week. If you win you get another shot at the title which makes it a huge match for you. What preparations are you doing for that match and is it now your last chance based on the result last week?"
DYNO: "Well obviously I'm not going to disclose any of my prep work Mike, but you're right, it is another huge match for me. I've no idea what Yuppie was doing getting involved last week. I'm all for folks being guest commentators Mike, it adds to the show, especially in this case as Yup was not only next in line for a title shot but he'd been in the ring with us both. But yeah, part of me wants some payback on him for what happened, but another part of me questions why this is all happening in the first place Mike.
It's no secret the history between Yuppie and Arizona. You'd have to have been living under a rock not to know how connected they are. It's a little convenient that Yup is allowed to leave his commentary position to do whatever he did there. And then you follow it up with Arizona Chance making this match between us. So he has booking powers now too? And I'll be honest Mike, that's why I didn't go back to see Toni at Glory. I've been pretty mardy about the whole thing since Destiny. I mean, when you've worked you're whole career to get to this point and in the biggest match you're involved in, others decide to stick their nose in, it bloody stinks Mike!
You start thinking that maybe the only way to reach the very top here is to pal up, go for this thing with 3 or 4 folks watching your back. And maybe I'm naive Mike as I've always looked up to all three Leading Men. These are guys who have transcended this business in multiple forms. But they always returned to the wrestling business and they stood there in front of the world as people to believe in. People to trust in. People to exemplify. But above all else these guys stuck together, so maybe the whole thing is a smokescreen just to keep these guys on top.
But then again you could look at is as the champ doing everything he can to stay on top. I mean, who's to say Shock acted off his own back when he jumped me after the J-1. Who did that benefit? Certainly not me, any momentum I had was cut short. The title match was postponed and I had to deal with Shock before I even had the chance of getting to Chance. And now, Yuppie was already announced as the next in line to face him...but how better to weaken his opposition then have the two guys who have been the closest to dethroning him then beat the hell out of each other ahead of the match at Super Glory?
A little convenient no? And it's everything that's being said online, in the dirt sheets, and even among our peers. But even though I've not been here as long as he has, I'd like to think I have a decent read on people...and I know, in my heart, that Arizona simply wanted to, A - give me another shot, as I know he wasn't happy after he'd seen what happened when we face off, but more importantly, B - he wants the fans of this great sport to get everything they can from each show the JWA puts out, and what better then to have not one but TWO Tag Challenge matches, and then the princes to the throne, if you like, face each other, where one of them has a small chance at redemption.
LERAY: "I have to admit Dyno, even I expected a different response from you. There's no doubting Yuppie's credentials and what a great champion Arizona is, but to see you come so close and then to have it end like it did, I half expected you to be almost demanding a return match."
DYNO: "You've seen it all Mike, you've seen giants slammed, you've seen people fall from cages and crash into announcers desks, you've seen a champion lay down for his boss. I'm not surprised you asked me this. This is wrestling of course, where turns happen daily. When friends betray friends. When family goes to war. But sometimes Mike, sometimes things happen that are genuine mistakes, genuine errors. Hell Mike, Yuppie even took the time to reach out to me on not one, not even two occasions, to speak to me. But like I said earlier, I'm not a good loser and I didn't want to know...but I've had chance to sit back and eventually listen to the message Yuppie left. You wanna hear it Mike?"
Dyno then takes out his phone, and after pressing a few buttons he plays a voicemail from Yuppie.
YUPPIE (RECORDING): "Look Dyno, I get why you're pissed and why you've been staying away, but I acted on pure instinct. It wasn't meant to cost you. I still want to be the one to beat Chance, but it doesn't mean I'd stoop to purposely costing you anything. Just wanted to let you know anyway. I look forward to our return match next week, even if I will beat you, you deserve that chance."
DYNO: "You've seen it all Mike. You've seen Giants slammed, the smallest men overcome the biggest odds. You've seen the fingerpoke of doom, the screwjob from Montreal. But out of all of it, have you ever been there where there is seemingly genuine remorse shown for something like this? I'd be a poor human being if I didn't at least give this man the benefit of the doubt.
Don't get me wrong, while the fan in me would love to see Yuppie and Chance complete their JWA trilogy 1 v 1, we get into this business to be the best, and if it means beating Yuppie again to interject myself into that dream match, so be it. But if Yuppie does beat me next week, then we're tied one a piece, which means there has to be rubber match down the line Mike...and I promise you, this series won't end in defeat for me."
LERAY: "Dyno, we've already gone over time and I can see we're getting the signal to wrap up, but thank you for joining me today, and the JWA fan base I'm sure can not wait until you and Yuppie square off again.
Folks, this is Mike LeRay for the JWA."

The JWA Mania logo fades to black. After a few seconds it fades into a shot of a man sitting in a leather armchair in front of a fireplace. The camera slowly moves around the front of the chair revealing Hotshot staring into the flames. Two women in maids outfits come into the room. One puts a blanket around Hotshots shoulders and the other hands him a martini. Hotshot takes the martini without acknowledging the girl. He sips the martini and looks directly into the camera.
Hotshot: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the most influential, most revered, most watched and unquestionably the greatest television show ever to grace your grubby little plasma screens, The Hot Topic! And this week is a very special episode of The Hot Topic, albeit a little controversial. That’s because this week, for the first time in Hot Topic history, the topic is not me. Now before you all reach for that remote, hear me out. The topic is not me, no, this week the topic is..........justice. You see, justice is a basic necessity of life. We cannot have law and order in this world without justice. And justice is sorely lacking today in the JWA. I could point my finger at some of the culprits around here. Some of my contemporaries who choose to bend and break the rules to suit their needs. But, to be honest, I don’t blame them. And I don’t blame you Stanley. Even if you are a dirty little conniving freak who cheats every chance he gets, I don’t blame you for it. No, you are a symptom of a bigger problem. And that bigger problem is you Kip Whistler. You have your little crew of yes men lined up behind you ready to smear on the chapstick, pucker up and plant one right on that miserable mound of cellulite and flab you call an ass. And heaven forbid anybody should get in the way of what your vision for the JWA is. It’s the Whistler way or the highway around here, believe me, I’ve dealt with it personally. And if anybody or anything tries to get in Kip’s way, well he’ll just send out his troops to do his bidding. So Stanley, I understand why you cheated. In fact, I kind of respect it. But you don’t cheat a Hardcover and get away with it! Kip, you and your lackeys and your crooked referees, you won’t get to run roughshod over this roster anymore! You won’t be able to stack the deck in your favor or give preferential treatment to your boys! There is a serious lack of justice in this company and look at what it has done to the place! We’ve got wrestlers showing up to work drunk! Home invasions! Staff members getting attacked at their desks! The Jerk went senile and now WHERE IS HE!! Nobody seems to care!! I know you people are too stupid to understand this and you probably don’t believe me but guess what? You don’t have to. If you think there’s any justice in this company, why don’t you just go ask Dyno what he thinks? This has become a hostile working environment. And that’s why for the future of this company, for the safety of my fellow wrestlers and yes, even for you Kip, I’m going to make certain that justice is served. Equality and justice for all! We live free......or we die! Justice will be served. I guarantee it. And that’s this week’s Hot Topic. I’ll see you in court Kip. And Stanley, you better hope I don’t see you at all.

Honest Sal is sitting down with Arizona for an interview.
SAL: Arizona, you’ve heard what Dyno has to say. Do you have a response?
ARIZONA: Well, I’d be a pretty crappy human being if I didn’t. First of all, Dyno, you gave me everything I could handle at Destiny, and you deserved a fair shake. The problem is, I’m a man of my word, and I had already promised Yuppie that he would be the next to challenge for the world title. And then he pulls what he pulled at Destiny. Now, I’m thankful he’s apologetic, but that still doesn’t absolve somebody from consequence.
So, I went to Kip— I didn’t make a match, but I suggested one, which he let me announce— that resolves this situation in the best way possible. Yuppie still gets the next shot at my title. You get an opportunity to get into the match and get a fair chance at this title. It’s a win-win as far as I’m concerned.
And if you’re worried that I’m going to be fresher than both of you guys— I’m pretty sure Kip would book a non-title match for me against a worthy competitor— ask him and I’ll gladly face whatever competition is in front of me.
SAL: What about the comments about you being disingenuous?
ARIZONA: Sal, that’s rightful speculation, and if I were in Dyno’s shoes, I’d feel the same way. From his perspective, things are going on behind the scenes he can’t see. He’s a great guy. I try to be as well. Sometimes there’s a misunderstanding, and this is one of them.
SAL: Is there anything else you want to talk about today?
ARIZONA: I’d like to give a shout-out to Mackenzie, who is watching from home, and getting used to the idea that the guy he’s living with is a somebody. See you at home kid.
SAL: Ladies and gentlemen, Arizona Chance.

Rod Puttergill: On Glory this past week, Yuppie VP defeated Dyno and secured a singles match for the JWA World Title against Arizona Chance at Super Glory on February 23/24. While he was still up to some of his old tricks, Yuppie appeared to be wrestling a more straightforward match than he had in the past. Our own Chet Desmond caught up with Yuppie for these comments.
(Camera cuts to Chet Desmond standing next to Yuppie VP outside of a restaurant somewhere in a downtown area)
Chet Desmond: I'm here with the #1 contender for the JWA World Title, Yuppie VP. I know you're on your way to dinner but I wanted to get a few words from you regarding what's going on in JWA.
Yuppie VP: It's fine, Chet. I have a standing reservation here at Dorsia. So you want to know my thoughts on what's going on in JWA? First I want to thank Dyno for giving me a hell of a fight, allowing me to prove that I'm worthy of facing the champion for the title. I also want to apologize to Dyno. I said it in my post match interview, but I feel bad that I took the opportunity away from Dyno. He deserves another title match after what I did at Destiny. I don't think it's too far fetched to say that whoever is the champion when March rolls around would be willing to put the belt up against Dyno first.
Chet: Any comments about the Tag League?
Yuppie: There's definitely a lot of parity in the tag division in JWA, isn't there? Two draws the first week, and this week two teams picked up wins but it could still end up a four way tie depending on next week's outcome. I imagine Kip Whistler is losing sleep over it, but he booked this thing and these are the potential problems that one will have to face.
Chet: Is any team your pick to win?
Yuppie: I'd be lying if I said I didn't think that Pierre and Slash, Last Call as they like to be known now, are going to be the odds on favorites. As far as I know the only person to defeat SlashMaster one on one was Pierre, and when you go back to the Death & Taxes days we were all on the same page. But if you really want to know who I WANT to win, it's Tommy and Stanley. They proved against Pierre and Myself a while back to be a much better team, and they defended those titles with honor. They may have had a falling out upon losing the belts, but they seem to have reconciled those differences for the most part. I know they're behind the 8 ball in the tournament, but if they get the opportunity, I hope they come out on top.
Chet: One last thing and I'll let you go. What do you think about the allegations being made that Kip Whistler is playing favorites with the former Leading Men, or as one person put it "he's corrupt"?
Yuppie: I understand where the feeling comes from, seeing how Arizona is the World champion, I'm getting another shot at the title, and Pierre could be half of the next Tag Team champions. But what people have to realize is that the three of us earned our current spots, and in an instant we can lose them. I'm not guaranteed to win the belt, although I have a strong feeling that I will, but if I don't win then I'll be back at the bottom again. I've talked to Kip and he's always looking for the next person to step up. I know that he's drawn some criticism because it seems like he does whatever Arizona wants him to do, but that's what comes with being the World champion. When you're at the top, you have a lot of influence. If that's not motivation for somebody to step up, I don't know what is.
Chet: Thank you, Yuppie, and enjoy the rest of your night. Rod, back to you in the studio!

At the Palatial Estate in the Sonoma Desert
“Are you kidding me? He did it again? Well, I hope Niz chokes on a ghost pepper. Maybe then he’d stop doing stupid crap like this. Thanks for the call, pal.”
“Hey big guy, what’s up with that? I haven’t seen you get mad till now. You’re just not normally one to get pissed and have a cow.” Mackenzie looked genuinely concerned for his presumptive adopted father.
“Well, you know how pro wrestling is— one of the guys pushed another one down the stairs, and he’s out for a while. And now, the tag tournament we’ve been doing is in jeopardy of not being completed.” Arizona was holding back anger to explain things in a matter of fact manner. He walked over to the fridge and grabbed a lime seltzer water. “I just hope Pillman is OK. He’s actually been doing some great work lately.”
“Yooo, that sucks. Who was he partnered with?”
“Hotshot, who has also been working tremendously. In fact, they were tied for first.”
“I watched last week— the winner gets the titles, right? I mean, the old champ went AWOL, so he won’t put up a fight.” Mackenzie seemed excited about the storyline, and he didn’t seem to get excited over much besides video games.
Arizona pauses for a moment. “Dumb question— Mr. Big Shot High School Wrestler, how would you like to come to the TV taping tomorrow? You could hang out in the back, meet a couple of the guys. You up for it?”
“Hell yeah I’ll go. Count me in.”

Rodd Puttergill: Coming up this week is Super Glory, and we've got two huge main event matches for you. We'll take a look at what lead to these two epic encounters later in the show, but right now we've got footage from earlier this week when our own Chet Desmond caught up with the challenger for the JWA World Title, Yuppie VP.
(Cut to the inside of a gymnasium. There's a ring in the center and Yuppie VP can be seen going over some holds with a trainer)
Chet Desmond: I'm here at an undisclosed location where Yuppie VP is preparing for his JWA World championship match against Arizona Chance at Super Glory. Excuse me, I hate to interrupt, but could I get a word for the JWA Mania viewers?
(Yuppie pats the trainer on the shoulder and rolls out of the ring)
Yuppie VP: Go ahead, Chet. What do the fans at home want to know?
Chet: Well, the big question is whether or not you really meant that you want a clean match. Anyone who's been watching lately has seen you take shortcuts and liberties with the officials in order to win.
Yuppie: I understand the fans questioning my sincerity. I've been a real jerk in the ring lately, but I've found that my successes haven't been due to taking shortcuts. If anything, I do just as well following the rules as I do breaking them. So I am being sincere when I say that I want a clean match, fair and square, straight down the middle. Arizona said he trusts me but that I'll have to prove it. I assure you he has nothing to worry about. I'm looking forward to this match.
Chet: The other question is - what is your opinion on this new group that seems to have formed among The Niz, The Manhattan Mauler, and Tommy End?
Yuppie: You know, I feel bad for Stanley in this. He's got a shot to become Tag Team champion for the second time, but it looks like his own tag partner is going to be working to try to help Niz & Mauler. I don't get it. They were overheard saying they're sick of the Leading Men. That would be a valid point about six months ago, but today it's irrelevant. Pierre is teaming with my arch nemesis, SlashMaster, and Arizona and I aren't exactly teaming up any time soon. I've basically become The Lone Wolf of Wall Street, and right now that works for me. Regardless, those three pose a pretty big threat to the rest of the JWA, so they need to be watched.
Chet: Thank you, Yuppie. I'll let you get back to training. Back to Rodd in the studio!
(Rodd Puttergill is standing in the studio)
Rodd: Thanks, Chet. And now, let's take a look at how we got to the 3 Way Tag Team Championship Ladder Match coming up this week at Super Glory...

ROD PUTTERGILL: "And now we take you to a match recorded exclusively for JWA Mania. Dyno steps in the ring hoping to begin his quest back to a title challenge as he faces Jonny Powell. Over to our announce team, Mick LeRay and for the first time, JWA Mania's own, Chet Desmond!"
We cut to the arena where Powell is making his entrance to a smattering of boos from the crowd. "Crank It Up" blares around the arena and Powell poses for the crowd, eliciting a few squeals of delight from some of them.
The crowd then pop as "Halls Of Valhalla" hits and Dyno makes his entrance. He jogs down to the ring, high fiving fans on the way down.
LERAY: "Here comes the Brit hoping to end his two match losing streak. But it won't be easy tonight against the powerful Jonny Powell, who looks in fine form tonight..."
The camera briefly shows Powell talking to an attractive lady ringside as he flexes in front of her and allows her to grab a feel of his bicep while doing so.
"...and joining me tonight for the first time, Chet Desmond. Chet, welcome to the announcers booth!"
CHET: "Thanks Mick it's great to be here and I'm looking forward to this match."
In the ring, Dyno is patiently waiting for Powell who now climbs in the ring, and the referee rings the bell. Dyno approaches Powell and the two lock up, Powell surprises Dyno with a huge hip-toss which sends Dyno crashing into the corner. Powell in the centre of the ring poses again, and kisses his bicep, before he and Dyno lock up again. Another giant hip toss from Powell sends Dyno into the corner again.
LERAY: "Great display of power again there."
CHET: "Yes but the posing is a waste of time Mick."
Powell is again posing in the ring. This time Dyno, sits himself in the corner and allows Powell to get on with it. Dyno sarcastically claps the display before Powell signals that he is ready to continue. The two go to lock up again but this time Dyno nips around and grabs his opponent from behind, a kick to the back of Powell's left knee drops him to his knees and Dyno takes the chance to grab him by his head and delivering a bulldog. Dyno swiftly follows up with a knee drop to the face of Powell before rebounding off the ropes and dropping a forearm across the face again.
Dyno goes to the top rope as Powell gets to his feet, a flying shoulderblock sends Powell down again. Dyno goes for the cover but Powell kicks out at 2. As Powell gets back to his feet Dyno nails him with a hard kick to the mid-section, before hooking him up in a suplex. He shows terrific strength holding the bigger man up for 6...7...8 seconds before dropping him head first with a brainbuster!
LERAY: "Incredible show of strength from Dyno there, Powell looks out of it. Dyno is on the top rope! Diving headbutt!"
CHET: "He nailed it perfectly Mike! Right on the money...2...3 yes that's it!"
LERAY: "Dyno picks up the win here tonight, despite a strong early showing from Powell."
CHET: "It was the posing that cost him Mike!"
The camera then cuts back to the JWA Mania studio as Dyno leaves the ring.

Rod Puttergill: Next up on JWA Mania, we have the Dutch Destroyer Tommy End taking on Earl Jackson. Here to call the match are Mick LeRay and "Savvy" Sean Beeman. LeRay: Thank you, Rod. Tommy End is coming off of an episode of JWA Glory in which he brutally attacked Last Call during their match against The Niz and the Manhatten Mauler. Beeman: A genius move by the Dutchman. Exactly what I would've done. Have I stated that Tommy End is one of my favorite wrestlers to watch on the entire JWA roster? LeRay: Just a couple of weeks ago you were insulting him! Beeman: I have no memory of that. The match starts with a collar and elbow tie up the two competitors. Tommy maneuvers Jackson into a side headlock, and Jackson pushes Tommy into the ropes. Tommy ducks under the clothesline attempt and hits a brutal high knee to the face of Jackson. Tommy picks Jackson up, looking like he's going to perform a DDT on Jackson, but then lifts Jackson into the air and spikes him on his head with a lift DDT. Tommy picks Jackson up, only to nearly kick his head off of his shoulders with a Foot to the Face. 1,2,3, this match is over.

After the match, Tommy End calls for a mic and gets one. Tommy End: Hey Pierre, did you see what happened there? That's a sign of things to come for you. And Yuppie, I heard what you had to say about the Leading Men not being a thing anymore. You know damn well I wasn't talking about the on screen faction. No, I was talking about your little backstage clique. The one that really calls all the shots. Pierre said something about me and Stanley being the first ever JWA tag team champions. Yeah we were. But that was when the Jerk was in charge, not your little crony Whistler. Tommy goes to say more but once again his mic gets cut.

Post by Kip Whistler on Feb 27, 2021 11:20:25 GMT -5
Rodd Puttergill: This past week we saw Arizona Chance retain the JWA World Championship in yet another exciting match against Yuppie VP. The match isn't what's got everyone buzzing, however. That would be the earth-shattering news that the person who Arizona THOUGHT was his future adoptive son Mackenzie turned out to be wrestling star Mack Caliber. It was all a charade! A ruse! This situation has called into question how it would be possible that Mack Caliber could have signed with JWA without anyone knowing and letting the champ in on the plan. We go now live to Kip Whistler who is in the JWA Offices to clear things up. Kip, can you see and hear me? (The shot changes from Rodd in the studio to Kip Whistler behind a desk covered in papers, VHS tapes, and jewel cases with DVDs in them) Kip Whistler: Yes Rodd, you're coming through just fine. Rodd: Kip, the fans want to know - how did this Mack Caliber situation come about? Kip: Well I first would like to say that I echo the sentiments of our JWA fans, and I hope that I can shed some light on what has occurred over the past few days. Some time back I received a tape from an independent wrestler from the Northeastern United States, in the vicinity of Boston, Massachusetts. I was very impressed by what I saw both in the ring and in the interview segments that filled the tape. I reached out to him because, as you can see, I get submissions from wrestlers all over the world almost daily, but he stood out and I wanted to meet with him in the hopes of bringing him to JWA. Rodd: That wrestler was “heartBROKEN” Mack Caliber , I'm assuming? Kip: That's correct, Rodd. I got a hold of him and told him that I wanted to meet with him whenever he would be in the area of the JWA Offices or the JWA Studio on TV day. Now, I was aware of the news that Arizona and Veronica Chance were in the process of taking in and hopefully adopting a teenage boy named Mackenzie. But, as you may well know, as the Owner and Promoter of JWA I have my hands full and I'm busy all the time, and it is not my concern what the members of the roster are doing in their personal time, unless it directly effects the company, so I wasn't keeping up with how the adoption process was going. Two weeks ago, Arizona brought Mackenzie to television to hang out backstage and meet the roster, something I'm sure Arizona thought would be a once in a lifetime treat for the youngster. Arizona did an interview segment on that show, during which he obviously was not able to keep his eyes on Mackenzie. It is at that time that while the roster met a troubled teen named Mackenzie, I met with the twenty-two year old independent wrestling standout Mack Caliber. We had a quick discussion and he was eager to sign his JWA contract, but it was not to be. He told me that he needed to take a phone call and ran out of the office before he could sign. It turns out that he overheard Arizona wrapping up his interview and had to return to continue his heinous deception. One week later at Super Glory, Mack Caliber arrived at my office and signed his contract. We all know what happened after that. Rodd: An unfortunate series of events, although understandable given your responsibilities. Kip: I just want to take a moment to publicly apologize to Arizona and Veronica Chance for unwittingly playing a part in this awful scenario. I can't even begin to imagine the state of mind our champion and his wonderful wife must be in right now. As a person, my heart goes out to them, but as a promoter, I'm excited to have Mack Caliber as a member of the JWA roster and I look forward to seeing his career flourish. Rodd: Thank you for clearing that up, Kip. Stay tuned fans, as we'll have more highlights from Super Glory plus much more coming up after the break!

Rodd Puttergill: While he was unsuccessful in his attempt to win the JWA World championship, Yuppie VP was quick to try to get back to his winning ways. Let's go now to footage from a match earlier this week featuring Yuppie VP and Chase Victory teaming against Barney Burrowitt and Vegas Viggins. We join the match already in progress, with Mick LeRay calling the action along with the newest member of the JWA Mania broadcast team, former wrestling great "Hollywood" Duke Mongoose!
(Cut from the Mania studio to the inside of a small arena. In the ring Vegas Viggins sends Chase Victory into the ropes, and they collide with a double clothesline)
"Hollywood" Duke Mongoose: What a collision in the center of the ring! I always hated when that happened.
Mick LeRay: Both men are starting to stir, and Yuppie VP is on the apron trying to rally the crowd behind his partner, Chase Victory!
Duke: I never had to rely on the fans for motivation, LeRay! The thrill of victory was all I needed. Plus the winner's share of the money wasn't bad either!
(Both Viggins and Victory get to their knees, clearly groggy. Burrowitt and Yuppie are leaning in for the tag. Victory gets close but Viggins grabs him by the ankle, cutting him off)
LeRay: Chase Victory was just a fingertip away from getting the fresh Yuppie VP into the match.
Duke: A brilliant move by the ring veteran, Viggins.
LeRay: Whoa! Chase Victory with an enzuguiri knocks Viggins to the mat!
Duke: A brilliant move by the young upstart!
(Chase Victory again reaches for the tag, and as Viggins goes to grab his leg again to cut him off, Victory leaps and makes the tag to Yuppie VP and the crowd erupts)
Duke: Yuppie VP in the ring like a house afire!
LeRay: Lariat to Viggins! Lariat to Burrowitt who has come into the ring! Hiptoss on Viggins! Hiptoss on Burrowitt!
Duke: Yuppie is running wild! Reminds me of myself back in the day!
LeRay: A double noggin-knocker by Yuppie leaves Viggins staggered and Burrowitt rolls out of the ring.
Duke: Looks like Vegas is a sitting duck.
(Yuppie VP gestures to the crowd that it's over, and hoists Viggins over his shoulders)
LeRay: And Yuppie takes Vegas Viggins to the mat with the Dividend! The referee with the count and that's it!
Duke: Call your grandmother, this one's over.
LeRay: A big win for Yuppie VP and Chase Victory!
(The shot fades out and back to Rodd Puttergill in the JWA Mania studio)
Rodd: Exciting stuff. That Dividend is a dangerous hold to be sure. Don't go anywhere, we've got plenty more coming up after the break!

“Hey Kip, I saw your piece on Mania. I just wanted to let you know you have nothing to apologize for. Caliber has a heck of a punch, and from a business standpoint, he’ll probably be great to have on the roster. The situation was unfortunate, but you had no way of knowing. See you at Glory.”
Arizona folded up his ancient flip phone and sat back down at his oak desk. On the desk was the letter he received from DCF, with the name of the agent circled— Kim Lang. He’d already determined that no such person worked at DCF, but someone at that office had sent that letter. He heard a knock at the door. Arizona picked up the letter by the corner and walked to the door.
“Officer Coltrane, thanks for coming over.” Arizona invited him to sit, but he declined, stating he was on duty. “You’re welcome any time. Thanks for agreeing to run the prints— it seems like the only way to find out who at the agency sent this.”
“We’ll find out for you, Mr. Chance, or my name isn’t Brisco P Coltrane!”
