I don't know where else to post this, so since it's something both old and new I thought I'd put it in here.
I really like the visual that having two entranceways gives. The idea that the combatants don't come out of the same place makes kayfabe sense, even if both lead back to the same spot. That being said, I'd like to point out that AEW needs to make a change. I get that AEW has a "heel" and "face" entrance, but it's dumb in my opinion to stick to that idea. Case in point, if Darby Allin fights Jungle Boy, they both come out of the same entrance. Why would opponents be in the same locker room? I know in the past the territories used two entrance ways, but things were generally booked more heel vs face than today when the lines are a bit blurrier. In Japan I know they generally designate one entrance for the red corner and one for the blue corner (when possible). The only thing AEW would need to change would be to just have the competitors come out of a different entrance than their opponent.

The only thing I would say against this in AEW is that they are very, very detailed on the meta stuff, and so are their fans. The internet would be abuzz with “OMG Darby came out of the heel tunnel!!z!” if they did what you said.
One detail I really like about that in AEW is that there are two guys who consistently don’t use either tunnel: Jon Moxley, who is an anti-hero who you cheer for despite doing heelish things, and Cody Rhodes, who does things that just scream heel but you cheer for him anyway. (Seriously, how is he not a heel?)
And, they make a point that whenever anyone makes a heel/face turn, they head out the opposite tunnel. Omega came in from the right and left on the left when Callis helped him cheat to beat Moxley for the title. Private Party did the same when they turned and left with Matt Hardy.
I think of their entrance tunnels like Harry Potter’s sorting hat— you just use whichever tunnel defines who you are inside, like it’s not a conscious choice.

Just because this makes perfect sense it doesn't mean I have to like it. I also think that Cody having a special entrance in the center is completely unnecessary.

It’s part of the reason I just can’t cheer for him. He does all the things that heels do to make you dislike them. Some guys have pyro. Some guys have fog. Some guys get the lights dimmed. Cody has it all. He has gear so ostentatious it would give Flair pause to wear to the ring. Some guys have managers— he has an entourage and a frickin dog (until the pyro scared it and he left it at home). And he thinks he’s a bigger deal than he actually is. This is all arrogant/delusional heel presentation, yet… YAAAAAAY CODY WOOOOOO!!!! The one nice thing is he’s not afraid to get squashed, and Brodie and Black became bigger stars because they kicked his butt so badly.

NXT UK does the perfect job of the dual entranceway gimmick. One person walks into the BT Sports Studio from the right side of the video wall and their opponent enters from the left side. We know that it's the same place behind the wall but visually it looks like they're coming from opposite sides of the building.
