Hi. I just downloaded the 80s Mania Returns app and I Really like it, especially the classic wrestling and pop culture references.
I do have a couple of suggestions. Keep in mind that I make the suggestions knowing that the app developers need to make money.
The most "radical" one has to do with "multiple personalities" / gimmicks etc. Where there is a separate card for each gimmick and one for good and bad. I suggest that in order to have more control when you get a card (for example Jet City Slicker) the character starts with the gimmick / disposition on the card but the player could spend a token (or game cash) to change the gimmick / disposition. This would allow players more control and lessen the confusion of having multiple versions of the same character. Players would have to spend the token if the current version of their character is "retiring" in order to keep the character (with the new gimmick and or disposition). Also I would like to see the ability to use a character out of his or her timeframe for two tokens. In addition if a character has two distinct names I'd like to see the ability to split them into two distinct characters for two tokens (ex. Piranha and Shark). A feud (if they are good vs bad) or a team (if they are both good or both bad) would be part of the deal.
I'd also like to see an ultrarare winner and a loser card for 500,000 game cash. One of each so if the player has both they can decide two matches on the card. Kind of a super boosted "Hulk Up" , "Crooked Ref" card. Again it would give the player more control at a price.
I'd like to see "stories" where two wrestlers or tag teams are engaged in a story. I'd call them "feuds" but there are already feud cards (ideally I'd rename them "rivalries" and call the stories "feuds"). A story would be a player controlled storyline where good skits, mic spots and matches turn up the heat but should be wrapped up before wearing out their welcome. A match with two people in a story that have a feud card would see the bonuses stack. Players would start with one singles and one tag team story slot and could acquire additional ones at a cost or by reaching certain goals in the game. Some skits could be created as story advancers ("Sneak Attack" and "Confront" could be part of the starter package) and promos would be assumed to be directed at the storyline foe.
Custom cards would be nice. If you find one at the shop you can buy it at the going rate plus 50% (so a main eventer create a card would be $150,000). The player could make up a name, assign their points to the 4 stats, come up with a type, disposition and quick bio. Hopefully there would be some images to choose from. At the cost of a token a player could redo his custom card. This is fairly advance so its just a thought.
I add my vote for six man tags and stables.
BTW: I tried to be fair when discussing cost. I get this is a money making venture. I'm all for even lower prices for my suggestions.
Thanks for reading. I know not everyone will agree but I thought I'd throw them out there.
