John Madden and Betty White in the same week— two genuinely beloved people who no one ever said a bad thing about. And you see it in the way they interacted with people who couldn’t offer them anything— there was still a genuine respect for people’s humanity and a sense of understanding that they were there to make people’s lives happier one interaction at a time.
In the wrestling business, I think the closest we see to that type of person is Mick Foley. Seems like a decent person who gives back to others even when he can’t get anything out of it.
