So I used to be able to upgrade with the gold token but it seems like the game is forcing me to use silver tokens since the update where the silver token could upgrade and unlock a gimmick. How do I just use the gold token to upgrade like I used to?

You can only use gold tokens to upgrade if that wrestler has already been ungraded before. It's a recent change to the system.

I found it annoying at first until I did the math and realized the new system is a way better deal overall. Now I'm unlocking gimmicks left and right.

Think of it this way: In ten years of the old system, you get to upgrade ten wrestlers and unlock five gimmicks. In ten years of the new system, you sell ten tokens for $1 mil, buy four gimmick tokens, and you get to upgrade nine wrestlers and unlock all nine of their gimmicks. Yeah, you upgrade one fewer wrestler, but you unlock four more gimmicks. I absolutely take that trade. |
