Good morning, everybody.
...unless it's afternoon where you are.
I have an idea. I want to divide the 8MW roster into factions. I want to keep tag teams together, and keep types of characters fairly close as well.
Any suggestions on what sort of groups I should have? Ideally, I'd want between 7 and 10 or so.
EDIT: Faces and heels will not be together. They will always be in separate factions.

A horror faction i use is - slashmaster, kieth blood, skullgore, cobalt commander, iron mask, auntie voodie and mr bonsai as there manager. 2 tag teams within that as well

I am going to dive head first into this thing when I have more time. For now, here are two that I normally use.
Dark Invader, Death Star Boy, Brute, and Massacre make up The Space Invaders.
Undermaster, Troglo, Dizzy Lixx, Killer Klown, Brimstone, and Skeleskreem make up the Ministry of Darkness.

Anti-Americans 2.0 - Brit Buckingham, Hammerhead, Ninja Shadow, Great Ginzu, and O' Hooligan (Mercenary, Spazz, Mad Arab, and The Slave Drivers could be added, but more than five people seems too large)

I carve mine up into the following factions a bit like the Heenan Family using a Manager
Horror Faction
Gothica : Keith Blood, Slashmaster, Skullgore, Zombie Punk
80s Villains
Valley Girl: Metalheads, Johnny Kobra, Annihilator
Heenan style
Big Boss: The Thugees, Ginzu, Pelvis, Mad Arab (Troglo split off and joined up with The Pirhana)
Video Game Characters
Prof Gigawat: Robolectro, Max Attack, Zen, and Michael T Wolf (had to be done)
Action Figures and Cartoons
Princess Starbright: He-Beast, Magnus and Pat, Drool, Glam
Everyone else is a free agent, helped out by Mr Bonsai now and again.

I might try factions in New Game+, and here are some of my ideas for factions in the 80s.
The Shadow Side: Dark Invader (leader), Death Star Boy (gradual heel turn throughout the 80s), Skullgore, Cobalt Commander, and Vladimir the Cruel.
The Arcade: Ace Arcadium, Zen, Max Attack, Rad Racer, Dungeon Crawler (Dungeon Crawler will be Samus whenever she gets implemented into the game and I can buy her.)
Tycoon's Enterprise: Mr. Tycoon, Almighty Dolla, Overload, Flawless One, and Ace of Spades (Heel turn after the Arcade dies).
American Patriarchy: Warhawk, Dangerzone, Freedom Fighter (secretly a spy for the Anti-Freedom Movement), and Sgt. Shipley.
The Anti-Freedom Movement: Mother Russia, Hammerhead, Brit (if I get him), Iron Mask, and Copper Commander
The Adventure Seekers: Arizona Chance, Red Pirate Rogers, Kezzif (in 85), Mighty Leo, and He-Beast the Barbarian
The Bad Men: Dr. B (heel), Soul Daddy, Johnny Kobra, Jet Set Strutter, and Queen of Mean
Neon Party: Chet Skye, Jessie Wild, Robolectro, Lazer (Neon version preferred), and Princess Starbright
And that's what I have for now in the 80s. In the 90s, the Shadow Side will be more powerful (getting Robolectro 3000), Tycoon's Enterprise will eventually get the Hunk, and Ace of Spades would have left them. With all of these factions in mind, I hope that my New Game+ will be good.

I have begun dividing the roster up by managers, and I am thinking I will still have to have some free agents as well. I'm hoping to share some ideas this week.
