I've been playing since 2020. I've been through all 20 years at least 7 or 8 times. I just finished 20 years on the new GM game. Now I have a chance to run a draft. I did a draft where all 4 shows got an even amount of legends, main eventers, etc. I didn't try to keep tags or factions together. I wasn't super happy with the results.
Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas for the draft? What did you guys do that you did or didn't like?

I think maybe you can skip the draft and send out the wrestlers manually to the different feds that way you have more control over who goes where. Hopefully that helps

Randomize the wrestlers as well as their fan statuses. You could end up with a pure good Black Plague or a Kongo Kid with a heart as black as night. Whatever you end up with, make it work. It'll force you to use people in different ways.

I've done the draft as random for a few years, and then assigned wrestlers at the draft to see how I felt. For me, it's rough, because I like to have full factions available at my fingertips. So I went back and kept my full roster. Although I seem to remember someone saying an alt can be somewhere else from their main now (don't know, haven't reset my years to do another draft) At least with assigning them, I thought like a GM would each time, but said "okay, this two rounds is only male main eventers, next four rounds are only female tag teams, etc" and it worked out much better since, no matter what, I had at least a rivalry for every character or team, and kept teams together (at least in my best way possible in the event of multiple partners)

I find the draft works a lot better when you split your roster across three brands instead of all four.
I also like to assign a brand as 'developmental', for people I'd like to sign in the future, but not have right away. When they do debut, it's kinda like a NXT call-up. I also then assign another brand as a rival, and I cannot sign any wrestler from them whatsoever. It makes the draft a bit more interesting, then when you play a new game, you can use wrestlers that you did not use at all in previous saves.
