Christian Horn inherited a large sum of money when his parents’ private plane went down off the coast of Japan. Horn has been a fan of professional wrestling from his childhood days, much to the chagrin of the elder Horns. Going against the advice of all of his father’s accountants and lawyers, Christian decided he wanted to foray into the business of pro wrestling. As he was as unathletic as a human can be, actually becoming a wrestler was out of the question. He decided to start his own promotion.
He attended wrestling shows sponsored by several different regional promotions, and tried to speak to the wrestlers about his endeavors. This usually led to his being ejected by security as no one took him seriously. One day, when he had was just about to give up and open an Arby’s franchise, he got a phone call from a wrestler named Keith Blood. Blood gave him two names, Garrett Chance and Phil Rogers. Chance and Rogers were instructors at a wrestling school that was two weeks from going under due to embezzlement on the part of the owner, Martin Mimosa. The two men knew that Mimosa had taken off with the money, but couldn’t prove it. With the help of his own team of attorneys and accountants, and a private detective, Xavier Strong, Horn was able to get Mimosa charged and convicted. The money was long spent, but Horn was able to get the school’s facilities as part of a settlement. Chance and Rogers agreed to work for Horn’s new promotion, and upon graduation, students committed to giving Christian one year of service at a rate agreed upon in advance.
As the story travelled through the wrestling business, other promoters try to disparage the latest “money mark” on the scene. However, Christian set up his territory in an area that did not currently have a promotion, so there was no competition. He decided to embrace the nickname of “Greenhorn” with which the naysayers had branded him, and his working name as head of the WW promotion became “Mr. Greenhorn”. When asked what “WW” stood for, he admitted that the first “W” really doesn’t mean anything “right now”. He just liked the logo. He said that “one day, it will stand for WORLD”.
In advance of the promotion’s debut, Mr. Greenhorn made a deal with American Legion Hall 101 for multiple Friday night dates. Tickets for the first show, in early January, sold out quickly. He fliers promoting the initial run of shows announced the inaugural champions as WW Champ-Arizona Chance, TV-Starboy, Cruiser-Red Pirate Rogers, Tag- The Neon Express, Ladies- Princess Starbright.

January 1980 Week 1
The first show open with the champion, Arizona Chance, in the ring. He offers a brief welcome to the fans, and promises that WoW will become the next household name in pro wrestling. He says that Mr. Greenhorn told him to take as long as he wants, but he knows that people are here to see fighting, not talking. As he winds down, Cesar Sleeze’s music hits.
Sleeze tells Chance to get out of his ring. Chance, the consummate professional, leaves without incident. Sleaze asks the crowd if they saw how the champ backed down. He says that he will take that title when he wants it, but he’s focused on finding a partner and taking the tag titles off those “posers”, the Neon Express.
In the opening bout, Cesar Sleaze defeats Moon Man. He tells the Neon Express that real metal, not “pretty boy poser rock” will rule the tag division in WoW.
The Piranha over Crash. His post-match comments are directed at the TV champion, Starboy. He says the two things he hates are other guys wearing his titles and other guys wearing masks. He will take both from Starboy.
Two high-school gridiron rivals bring their feud to another sport as The Blitz takes on Cutthroat Carter. Carter reminds the Blitz how his team won the state championship over Blitz’ team. Blitz says that Carter’s living in the past as that’s all he’s got. Carter says that Blitz is still eaten up by the loss even all these years later. He adds that his domination of Blitz will continue in a brand-new sport, and he will humiliate Blitz all over again. However, Blitz does pick-up the win in a very good match. As Blitz celebrates with the fans, Carter attacks him by striking him over the head with his football helmet. Blitz is out cold. Carter pulls a flag of his high school from under the ring and covers his downed opponent.
In a non-title match, Starboy and Zeke Mullet go to a double-disqualification. After the match is officially over, Piranha attacks Starboy, but the champ fights him off and gets a few shots of his own. Zeke tries to ambush Starboy, but Moon Man makes the save.
In a cruiserweight title match, Red Pirate Rogers retains against Cletus Mullet. Zeke Mullet is sent to the back after interfering, but returns after the bell to attack Rogers. An unknown wrestler makes the save, and Rogers seems surprised, but glad, to see him. Rogers identifies his friend as The Reptile Ranger. Ranger says he just came to surprise his old training buddy, but when he saw Rogers in trouble, he had to help. Arizona Chance joins the pair in the ring. He seems to know Ranger as well. Chance hands Ranger a piece of paper. Ranger reads it and seems excited by the content. Chance hands him a pen and Ranger signs at the bottom. The three men confer and then Rogers asks the fans to greet the newest member of the WW roster, Reptile Ranger.

January 1980 Week 2 As the crowd waits outside to get into the hall, a car pulls up and Starboy parks and gets out. He greets the fans and signs some autographs. As he heads inside, The Piranha rushes from the crowd and attacks him from behind. Piranha tries to unmask him, but security pulls him off just in time.
The opening match was originally billed as The Mullets and Cutthroat Carter (Zeke Mullet was kicked off Carter’s football team for being to violent)versus Red Pirate Rogers, Reptile Ranger, and The Blitz. Blitz was pulled after Carter’s attack last week, and replaced with Starboy. Starboy was pulled after Piranha’s attack earlier tonight. Rogers and the Ranger are prepared to go 2-v-3 when Arizona Chance’s music hits. He wasn’t scheduled to be at the show, but when Mr. Greenhorn called and told him what happened, he changed his plans. The Mullets and Carter protested, but to no avail. The Chance/Rogers/Ranger team won when Rogers pinned Cletus Mullet. Starboy joined the victorious team in the ring.
The debuting Big Thuggee, an evil giant of a man from the Middle East, defeated local construction worker turned wrestler, Hardhat Bud Duncan. Chet Skye and Jessie Wild, the Neon Express, WoW Tag Team Champions, addressed the crowd. Their main topic was Cesar Sleaze’s obsession with them. They said they love all kinds of music, including heavy metal. Sleaze was a bad representative of that style. They encouraged him to find whoever could stand to be around him long enough to team with him. They would gladly make the match. In the main event, WoW Ladies Champ, Princess Starbright, retained against Valley Girl. Valley Girl had previously given an interview to the local paper where she claimed the reason Mr. Greenhorn didn’t name her the first Ladies champion was because she turned him down for a date. He later admitted that the date part was true, although he claimed he “dodged a bullet” when she declined. Valley Girl claimed that Starbright had given Greenhorn “special treatment” in exchange for the title. Both parties denied this, and people who knew Starbright in real life claimed she would never do anything like that. After the loss, Valley Girl tried to steal the title belt. There was a tug-of-war with Girl on the apron. Starbright let go and Girl tumbled into an old man’s lap in the front row. Girl accused him of getting “handsy”, then asked him if he happened to be wealthy. The old man turned out to be Starbright’s grandfather.

January 1980, Week 3 Cutthroat Carter over Rad Racer. Carter asks where the cowardly Blitz is hiding. He says that Blitz lucked out once and got a win, but it won’t happen again. Mr. Greenhorn comes out and says that Blitz isn’t cleared. He wanted to be here, but they didn’t allow it for his safety. Carter says that was a good idea, as he’s going to hurt Blitz next time he sees him.
The Piranha comes out and calls out Starboy, who quickly responds. Piranha demands a TV title match at the Super Duper show next week. Starboy accepts.
In a non-title tag match, The Neon Express defeat The Mullet Cousins. Cesar Sleaze interrupts a post-match interview to say that he’s found the perfect partner and they will be winning the tag titles at The Super Duper Show.
Big Thuggee defeats Hardhat Bud Duncan in a NO DQ match. He lashes Duncan with his whip after the match, and Arizona Chance makes the save. Chance reveals that they have a shared history, and that Thuggee is there specifically for him. Thuggee demands a title match next week at the Super Duper Show, and Chance accepts.
The ring announcer tells the crowd that the main event will be slightly delayed due to a situation backstage. A group of three men and one woman burst thru the locker room door fighting off security all the way to the ring. They are wearing the regalia of the Soviet Union. They entered the ring, and the woman began speaking in Russian. She stopped and called the crowd “ignorant Americans” for not understanding her. She said she would lower herself to using English. She identified herself as Mother Russia, and her comrades as Hammerhead and The Siberians, Molotov and Smirnov. She claimed all the other promotions were scared of them, so they would start by taking over this “little redneck wrestling company” and move on from here. Any company they can’t control, they will destroy. Before she can go on, Mr. Greenhorn shows up with the police. He tells the Russians that several wrestlers in the back have already expressed interest in putting the Russians in their place. He says if they calm down and sit with him, they might work something out. Hammerhead speaks for the first time, saying that Greenhorn better accommodate them, or he will be their first victim.
In the main event, Red Pirate Rogers retains the Cruiserweight title against Crash in a “friendly” match.
Mr. Greenhorn comes back out to congratulate both men. He announces that due to ticket demand, next week’s Super Duper Show is being moved to the Fairgrounds in a giant heated tent. He says that Chance, The Neon Express, and Starboy will defend their titles, and the Russian team that just introduced themselves will be debuting against Red Pirate Rogers, Reptile Ranger, and a partner to be determined. Rogers asks Crash if he’d like to be that guy, and Crash accepts. Greenhorn says the match is now finalized, and tells everyone he will see them next week just down the road at the Fairgrounds.

January 1980 Week 4 The Super Duper Show In the opener, Starboy and The Piranha brawl to a double countout. Starboy retains. Their fight continues after the bell, and security has to break them up.
The Blitz appears live for the first time since the debut show when injured by Carter. He wishes he were ready to go, but the doctors won’t release him. He expects to be ready by the next SuperShow in four weeks, and tells Carter the rematch has already been signed. Even if not officially cleared, Blitz will be allowed to compete.
Moon Man defeats Cletus Mullet. Zeke Mullet remains at ringside this time, so Starboy comes down to watch Moon’s back. The pin comes when Zeke is holding Moon so that Cletus can spit tobacco in his face. Moon escapes and Cletus blasts Zeke. In the confusion, Moon rolls him up. Zeke recovers and goes after Moon. Starboy is about to assist when Piranha attacks him. Both Moon Man and Starboy are left laying in the ring. As The Mullets and The Piranha are leaving the ring, they are confronted by Red Pirate Rogers. Reptile Ranger, and Crash. The latter trio are then jumped from behind by their opponents in the next match, The Comrades with Mother Russia. It’s a one-sided beatdown for quite a while. The ref threatens to call off the match, but the Russians say he’s protecting the Americans. Rogers says to ring the bell. Crash starts, and is pinned quickly by Hammerhead. Rogers and Ranger never get in the match officially.
A video promo plays from a dark and mysterious-looking woman calling herself Gothica. She says she’s not a good girl or a bad girl, and isn’t interested in the fans either way. She’s interested in Starbright’s Ladies’ Title. She says the darkness will consume the Princess’ light, and leave her terrified of her very existence.
The Neon Express retain the Tag Titles against Cesar Sleaze and his mystery partner, Cutthroat Carter. Sleaze and Carter have no chemistry and blame each other for the loss. Sleaze says he will still find the perfect partner. Carter says he is the perfect partner, but Sleaze is the weak link. As Carter leaves the ring, he says that he is going to end The Blitz in four weeks. In the main event, Arizona Chance retains against Big Thuggee. Hardhat Bud Duncan accompanies Chance to the ring, but doesn’t stay. Duncan asks Chance to leave some of Thuggee for their match, as he is going to win their next encounter.

She says she’s remaining at ringside to scout. She also know that Valley Girl’s still making noise about a future match, so that business isn’t finished. Suddenly, the lights go out. Once again, all ringside seconds are banned.

February 1980 Week 2 Valley Girl opens the show this time and does not welcome the fans. She says that Starbright cheated in their match, and any footage that may or may not exist has been doctored by Greenhorn. Cesar Sleaze comes out for the Tag Title match. He’s about to announce his latest “perfect partner” when Starboy interrupts from the other side of the floor. He had been selling merch and signing autographs during the intermission before the main event. Starboy causally tells everyone that Sleaze’s partner is The Piranha, and the insincerely apologizes for spoiling the “big moment”. Sleaze is mad because he didn’t get to do the big reveal. Starboy says that Piranha will be as successful challenging for the tag titles as he has been challenging for the TV. Sleaze goes after him. They are nose-to-nose on the floor when Piranha tries to jump Starboy. He moves and Piranha hits Sleaze. They start arguing. The Neon Express come out and chase them back to the ring where the match begins. The Express retain, and Sleaze and Piranha go their separate ways blaming each other.

February 1980 Week 3 Chet Skye, one-half of the Neon Express, takes on Hardhat Bud Duncan in a clash of two good guys. Jessie Wild wasn’t present due to a family matter. At one point, Dun can went through the ropes to the floor, and Skye gave him time to recover. The Siberians came out and distracted Skye and the referee. Hammerhead KOd Duncan with the ring bell. By the time the ref restarted the count, there was no way Duncan could return to the ring.
Cesar Sleaze interrupted the proceedings. He asked Hammerhead if he would come back out. Hammerhead came out but stayed by the entrance. Sleaze said that while he’s aware he doesn’t fit the whole Russian motif, he’s always admired the Soviet Union for all it’s amazing accomplishments. Hammerhead replied, saying that he won’t team with Sleaze. He leaves. Big Thuggee comes out. He asks Sleaze if he’s still looking for a partner. Sleaze excitedly says yes. Thuggee tells him to follow him and don’t ask too many questions. Sleaze introduces him and Thuggee as the next Tag Team Champions. Thuggee says he wouldn’t be caught dead teaming with Sleaze, and now he’s not going to do what he planned to help Sleaze find a partner. He leaves, and Sleaze follows him to the back begging all the way.
The Siberians over Crash and Moon Man.

Starboy asks both Mullets if they will keep it to a 1-on-1 tonight, and Cletus says that Zeke doesn’t need his help to beat Starboy. He does stay out of it, but Starboy retains. As Starboy celebrates with the fans after the match, Cletus spits tobacco juice in his face. Piranha comes through the crowd and attacks his blinded rival. He manages to get Starboy’s mask off, but several wrestlers with towels chase Piranha off and cover Starboy’s face.
