Greetings, grapple fans!
Tonight we've got a continuing rivalry paired with a rivalry renewed in the first ever mixed tag team match in JWA history. Daisy Turner wants another shot at Winter Hex and the JWA Women's World Championship. Winter doesn't believe that Daisy deserves another opportunity. Daisy proposed tonight's match as a way to show that she does, in fact, deserve another shot at the title. Daisy has recruited former JWA World Heavyweight and World Tag Team Champion Red Pirate Rogers as her partner, while Winter and her associate Miss Jessie have called on an "old friend" of Jessie's, Chief Buffalo. Financial compensation is allegedly involved. Red and Buffalo are no strangers to one another and were pitted against each other previously by Miss Jessie. You have to imagine that with Miss Jessie floating around at ringside both Daisy and Red will need to keep their heads on a swivel. Who will come out on top in our first ever mixed tag team match?
(The polls will be open for at least 24 hours. It doesn't matter who you vote for, just that you participate!)
Last week we saw the unlikely team of Duke Mongoose and Penguino defeat the tried and true tag team champions Big Waves to become the new JWA World Tag Team Champions. Somehow, some way, Duke and Penguino made it work in the ring despite their differences. The former champions aren't going down without a fight, however, and Chesterton has challenged Penguino to a one-on-one match and Penguino has accepted, so that match will take place right here on Glory next week. Pierre The Enormous seems to be taking the loss pretty hard, so perhaps a win from Chesterton next week will lift his spirits?
Omega Satyros is nearly cleared to return to in-ring competition, so he will be joining us this week on commentary for a match between Kenny Wynn & Chase Victory and The Malarkey Brothers. William and Randall Malarkey have recently aligned themselves with "Savvy" Sean Beeman's "Family" as of late, a group that seems to have been founded for the sole purpose of "exposing" and "embarrassing" Omega Satyros. It's safe to assume that Satyros has a vested interest in that match. And with his return to the ring imminent, Satyros is currently slated to have a match right here on Glory in two weeks' time. Who will his opponent be? Who will step up?
Another person who is set to return to the ring is Arizona Chance. The man has done everything in JWA, so we'll all be very interested to find out what his intentions are upon his return. Will he be planning another run at the World Heavyweight Title? Perhaps a new tag team to go after the titles? Could he have his sights set on becoming the first ever two time J-1 Pinnacle Tournament winner? We are anticipating Arizona's return on next week's Glory, and it's sure to be can't miss television!
I announced it on Chirpy, but Super Glory is coming up on September 12/13 and the main event has been signed. "Relentless" Conor Caine will defend the JWA World Heavyweight Championship against Tommy End! The Dutch Destroyer definitively put an end to his issues with Red Pirate Rogers, and Caine successfully turned back the challenge of "Lord" Taylor Thorin. We expect to hear from both champion and challenger during tonight's show.
Let's start the show. Get out there and work your gimmick!

Barracuda Play and Daisy Turner makes her entrance
Beeman: Y'know I like this. Daisy having to walk out by herself, no Sakura in sight, no nothing
LeRay: You really seem to dislike Sakura
Beeman: She got here out of pity and now she's gone forever. Bye, bye
LeRay: I wouldn't be so sure of that. Sure she's in Japan for a couple of days but we do know she hasn't left the JWA.
Beeman: Dammit, I don't want to see her annoying self
LeRay: Well Daisy has made her way to the ring and now is awaiting her partner.

Cannons blast and Pirate King sounds and the Red Pirate Rogers emerges with his colorful crew behind him.
LeRay: Here comes Rogers and all his merry men, including the "Swains" who faced the Malarkey brothers of your own faction earlier tonight, Sean.
Beeman: Pbbbt don't remind me.
LeRay: Rogers pulling double duty tonight having watched the tag match earlier and now joining his newest partner Daisy Turner, a pair of former champions in their own divisions.
Beeman: Yeah, they're both losers and they will be tonight again.
LeRay: That remains to be seen, but it looks like Rogers has something for Daisy Turner...
Beeman: Oh, no do we have to hear him talk too?
(Rogers picks up the microphone and reveals a jaunty hat)
RPR: I'm happy to stand by your side tonight Ms. Turner, and I admire your efforts to adopt some of my...verbiage. But to be on this crew you need only fight the good fight and stand up for what is right, a test you passed with flying colors from your first day here. But in case you care to look the part, legend has it that this was first worn by a formidable pirate, "Bonny Anne Bonny"... (fans cheer as Diasy accepts the hat...but immediately their opponents music plays)

The Malarkey Brothers w/ "Savvy" Beeman vs. Kenny Wynn and Chase Victory w/ Red Pirate Rogers
LeRay: Welcome folks to our opening match of the evening. I'm excited to be joined for this match by someone who isn't dreadfully obnoxious.
Omega: Heh, I appreciate the compliment. Now as for the match, we see William and Randall Malarkey here are looking to start some momentum in the tag division against Kenny Wynn and Chase Victory of the Rogers Crew.
The match begins, with the Malarkey Brothers immediately starting to cheat, between eye rakes and grabbing at the trunks.
LeRay: Looks like the Malarkeys have quite the plan going today.
Omega: Can't say I'm shocked to see Beeman's goons trying to skirt the rules.
LeRay: No shock given they've been training with Beeman.
Omega: Sounds about right. Beeman's MO seems to ultimately boil down to just disrespect.
LeRay: But you can't argue with results, and the Beeman Family is undefeated in matchups since coming together.
Omega: Until I'm able to get my hands on them.
The fight continues on as the Malarkeys continue cheating, including a low blow Randall his on Kenny as the ref, Jay Fairweather was distracted by William on the outside shouting at Red Pirate Rogers. Beeman swiped Omega's crutch during this fracas, sliding it into the ring as Randall cracks it over Kenny's back, causing it to shatter and splinter over the Jolly Rogers' Coxswain. Fairweather counted the pin before Tommy Tough rushed the ring to celebrate the win with the rest of the Beeman Family. Beeman grabbed the mic.
Beeman: That's what we do! Thanks Omega, for the "inspiration" it took for the Malarkey Brothers to pick up the win tonight. Now get the hell out of my chair, I've got a show to commentate.
Tommy Tough rushed over, throwing Omega to the ground as Diablo rushed out, and with the help of Red Pirate Rogers, held off the Beeman Family for long enough to help Omega to the back.

Beeman: Looks like Winter has a mic
LeRay: Can we start the match?
Beeman: Hey Rodgers already talked, it's only fair
Winter: Hey Daisy! Rodger! Look at this (Referring to the JWA Women's Championship but implying to a championship in general). This is something that both of you will never see again. A championship. Especially you Daisy. Take a big great look, you will never see this again you b-
Daisy smacks Winter right in the face, and the match begins
Beeman: That was uncalled for!
LeRay: Winter was getting in her face, it's only fair.
Daisy grabs winter and hits 3 snapmares before getting her in a headlock. Winter kicks herself up out of the hold and performs an arm drag to Daisy. Daisy tries to get up but Winter kicks her in the gut and sits her on the corner. She lifts her into the tree of woe position and runs to the corner, she slaps Red Pirate Rodgers right in the face before proceeding to hit a running dropkick to Daisy.

Beeman: Ha take that Rodgers!
LeRay: That probably wasn't the best idea, remember this is JWA not some other promotion where the men get disqualified for hitting the ladies. Intergender wrestling is allowed.
Winter drags Daisy to the middle and pins her 1, 2, Kickout! Winter gets mad and goes for a figure four but Daisy kicks her off. Winter charges towards Daisy but is met with a back body drop followed by a springboard moonsault. Miss Jessie drags Winter out of the ring which makes Daisy mad, she dives out of the ring and crashes into Miss Jessie. This time allowed Winter to tag in Chief Buffalo. Daisy notices and runs into the ring. They have a stareoff
Beeman: Ok Chief squash that little girl
LeRay: I know intergender wrestling is allowed but I think this might be pushing it
Beeman: What are you talking about! It should be legal.
Buffalo tells Daisy to tag in Rodgers, she walks to Rodger but before she does, she hits a dropkick to Chief Buffalo then tags in Red Pirate Rodgers.
LeRay: And now it's time for the men to get involved.

Post by Duke Mongoose on Aug 9, 2023 6:30:48 GMT -5
Honest Sal: Fans, please welcome my guest at this time, once again one half of the JWA World Tag Team Champions... Duke Mongoose!
(The fans boo and hiss as Duke struts through the curtain and over to the podium)
Sal: Firstly, congratulations on the victory last week.
Duke: Sally boy! Do I know how to pick 'em or what?
Sal: I'll admit that when you selected Penguino as your partner, I was skeptical. It was noted by some fans over the weekend that you took exception to Omega Satyros congratulating you two and intimating that he would have liked to team with Penguino had circumstances been different. What's the deal there?
Duke: Big Daddy Duke has had some time to think about it, and to be honest, I overreacted. I just didn't like the idea of some horned goat-man hanging around my boy.
Sal: ...your boy?
Duke: You know, my boy! Penguino!
Sal: He's not your son, Duke. I doubt he likes being referred to as "your boy" either.
Duke: How about we move on to a real question, Sally boy? The champ's time is valuable.
Sal: Fine. Who's next for the new tag team champions?
Duke: What do I look like? Kip Whistler? I don't know who our next challengers are going to be. It might as well be Big Waves again, seeing as they're seemingly the only other tag team around this company. But do they deserve the opportunity? I guess we'll see, because next week my boy is going to beat the stuffing out of the surfer dude!
Sal: He's not your boy.
Duke: AND ANOTHER THING! If that horned goat-man is looking for an opponent in two weeks, he doesn't need to look any further than Big Daddy Duke! I'll gladly teach him a lesson and send him packing back to wherever it is he came from!
Sal: I guess we'll see if Mr. Whistler makes the-
Duke: Call your grandmother, Sal! This interview is over!
(Duke poses aggressively, then walks away from the podium)
Sal: Alright, let's get back to the action!

rogers runs in and gives buffalo a headscissors take down. he bounces off the ropes and hits a springboard moonsault, but only gets a one count before buffalo pushes him up and away. the pirate lands in a three point stance while buffalo gets up, then runs in and hits a ddt, he goes for another cover and is pushed off at 1.3.
beeman makes fun of rogers not knowing how to count, then rogers moves to the side and gestures for the figurehead submission move. the pirate kneels on buffalo's back then rolls him up, barely off the ground because buff is so big...too big, rogers' knees buckle and buffalo lands on top of him for a cover of his own, 1...2

Rogers turns away, and stays in the match.
LeRay: Pretty sure Rogers knew to count there. Beeman: Are we sure Bambino isn't pulling a string on Rogers there, keeping him in the match? LeRay: Oh, brother.
Buffalo is still seated, tired from Rogers' attacks, but as the Pirate starts to crawl towards the corner to tag in Daisy Turner, he grabs the boot and pulls back.
LeRay: Uh-oh, looks like Buffalo's not going to let go of Rogers, but can he not only stop him, but stomp him? Beeman: There's a place in the Beeman Family for him if he can!
Buffalo does indeed stomp on one knee, then looks to twist Rogers into something like a figure four leg lock...though, with Buffalo's "hamhocks" it's more like a figure open parenthesis.
LeRay: Oh, he's got Rogers in his own trap now, and over comes the referee to check in...hey there! Winter Hex is grabbing Buffalo's wrists and pulling him over to their corner, adding extra strain on Rogers. Beeman: What? Winter Hex is helping her partner, is that against the rules? LeRay: It is if you aren't in the ring! Beeman: Typical. A man trying to keep down a strong independent woman like Winter Hex. LeRay: Can Rogers get out of this one?

Rogers slips the unbent leg out from underneath Buffalo, and when the big man next sits up...
LeRay: Oooh! Seated Enziguri and Buffalo is out! Beeman: He's out? Look at the Ladies, they can't believe Rogers did that! LeRay: It looks like the colorful crew is cheering for Rogers to get over to the corner and make the tag (We here Peter Dombrowski yelling "Bearing NorNorWest Captain Rogers!" as the Crimson Captain starts to crawl to the corner) Beeman: Quick! get in there Champ! (She tags in on Buffalo. Shoves her lumpy partner out under the bottom rope and lunges for Rogers, who dives and...)

Post by “The Relentless” Conor Caine on Aug 9, 2023 16:39:16 GMT -5
[Prior to the main event]
”Vonnegut Busy” by Sage Francis hits and the audience jump to their feet as Conor Caine makes his way to the ring, his title belt - as always - draped over his shoulder. He climbs through the ropes and makes his way to a turnbuckle to salute his fans before calling for a mic.
CAINE: So it’s been made official: September 12th, Super Glory! “The Relentless One” versus “The Dutch Destroyer“ one last time!
The fans cheer.
CAINE: Tommy, you and I have had a storied past. What started out as a war of words quickly descended into a bloody rivalry where we tried to beat each other to death multiple times! Things were heated and we got nasty! But things have changed since our last encounter in the J-1 tournament... I’ve changed. I’m not the same hothead I was a year ago. I’m more disciplined, more methodical, and - frankly - that makes me more dangerous than I’ve been before. Yeah, I’ve wanted a do-over of our last match because my victory wasn’t worthy of a competitor of your prowess. If I want to hold my head high, I have to beat you decisively. I prize my honour above all things, and honour demands I rectify the blemish on my record that is our last match, and if that wasn’t reason enough for me to beat you at Super Glory, I also have this…
Caine raises the JWA title over his head.
CAINE: I fought long and hard to win this title and I’m not ready to give it up just yet. So that means that, while a lot might have changed since our last match, one thing remains the same: If you want to take the JWA title off me, you’re going to have to beat me to death!
Caine drops the mic and stares into the hard cam before leaving the ring.

LeRay: He makes the tag! Daisy is now in the match
The hot tag was made and she gets in like a fire cracker. Clothesline, another clothesline, on the 3rd attack she grabs Winter Hex and hits a German Suplex pin combo. 1, 2, Kickout!
LeRay: That was so close
Beeman: But not close enough, Daisy knows from experience that Winter Hex is the toughest.
Daisy picks Winter up and throws her to the corner, she heads to the other corner and gets ready, she's running, handspring, backflip, and hits with the elbow. Winter's down and Daisy heads to the top rope
LeRay: Wait a minute, Miss Jessie! Jessie is distracting Daisy
Daisy flips Miss Jessie and goes for a shooting star press but Winter rolls away

Red Pirate Rodgers gets in the ring and in the face of Miss Jessie
Beeman: Rodgers don't you dare hit that lady
LeRay: Hit her! She deserves it!
Winter grabs Rodgers and makes him face her, she gives Rodgers a hard slap. Rodger holds his face and then puts a smile on it. He grabs Winter Hex and puts her in the electric chair position, he looks at Daisy and tells her to go up top, Miss Jessie tries to intervene but Daisy kicks her off the apron. She climbs the top rope and they go for it. Doomsday Device!
LeRay: What a move from Daisy & Rodgers what great teamwork
Beeman: That should've been illegal, Rodgers isn't the legal guy
LeRay: Yeah but Daisy it and check it out
Daisy goes for the pin 1, 2, 3! Daisy Turner & Red Pirate Rodgers win. They hug and celebrate their victory all while Miss Jessie is acting like a brat at ringside
LeRay: Hold on, I just realised... Daisy just pinned the JWA Women's World Champion!
Beeman: So?
LeRay: That's for sure going to put her at #1 Contender
Beeman: She's already #1 Contender, who else is there, Sakura? Nope she's not coming back
On the Jerktron a promo package shows Sakura coming back on Mania
Beeman: NOOOOOO!
