("Fatal Charm" by Billy Idol begins to play and the crowd turns hostile. As the song picks up, Duke Mongoose burst through the curtain, gyrating and prancing in time with the music. He swivels his hips in front of a couple of middle-aged women in the front row who appear to be cheering Duke on, though certainly ironically. Duke rolls into the ring, climbs onto the second rope and strikes a double bicep pose)
LeRay: Last year Duke only managed a single point, and that came from a draw with Bad Luck Bradley.
Beeman: You have to bring that up?
LeRay: It's relevant, Sean. I didn't talk about it all year until right now.
Beeman: That's ancient history, LeRay! The clown who dresses like a pirate is just the first of many victims for Big Daddy Duke this year!
LeRay: Indeed, we await the arrival of Duke's opponent, Red Pirate Rogers, who's got to be considered one of the favorites to win the whole thing this year.
Beeman: Why? Because people like him? Because he's always done well in the J-1? Please! It doesn't matter how you've done in the past or what people think of you, and Duke is going to prove that tonight!

Cannons blast and Pirate King plays as Red Pirate Rogers enters
LeRay: Roger’s enters alone tonight, with none of his colorful crew to help him.
Beeman: Pffft…about time too. If you ask me, a real man doesn’t lean on a team of jabronis to keep him competitive.
LeRay: didn’t Duke use that when he had a whole royal court as tag team champion?
Beeman: Big Daddy Duke only celebrates with the cream of the crop…Rogers is the biggest ham and egger in a blue plate special bunch.
(Rogers jumps into the ring and prepares to bow but is jumped from behind by Duke as the bell rings)

LeRay: Mongoose jumpstarts this match, forcing referee Rothburn Sallie to ring the bell with Rogers at a disadvantage. Duke is raining down double axe handle smashes to the back and shoulders of Rogers as the former World champion tries to find safe harbor in the corner!
Beeman: Big Daddy Duke isn't fooling around this year!
(Duke goes in to strike Rogers in the corner, but Sallie separates the two men. Duke backs off, then comes back in once the referee is out of the way and is met by a big boot to the face from Rogers)
LeRay: A quick strike by Rogers turns the tide of this bout, and now Rogers leaps from the second rope and takes Duke down with a jumping bulldog!
Beeman: That's not fair! Duke was distracted because the referee was in the way!
LeRay: Rogers goes for a cover, but Duke is out at one. Rogers now slaps on a side headlock to maintain control, and these fans here approve.
Beeman: These fans are idiots.
(Rogers appeals to the crowd as he wrenches the side headlock. Duke reaches blindly, grabbing at Rogers' face, and manages to get a finger in the eye hole of the pirate's mask. Duke pulls with all his might, turning the mask to the side, covering both of Rogers' eyes)
Beeman: Brilliant!
LeRay: Red Pirate Rogers releases the side headlock as he is now fighting blind! Dirty pool by Mongoose!
Beeman: Maybe that nautical moron will think twice about wearing a goofy mask in the ring after this!
LeRay: Rogers is struggling to get his mask straightened out and Duke takes advantage of the situation and lays him out with a Running Neck Breaker Drop! Cover by Duke - Rogers out at one, and now Duke applies a rear chin lock.

LeRay: Rogers is stuck here, he can't see his closest path to the ropes, and can't adjust his mask without bending back and making the chin lock worse!
Beeman: Christmas came early for me!! The only trump card would be if Duke unmasks Rogers and reveals that ugly puss of his!
(Rogers is struggling in the chin lock, and his arms can't find leverage to push away Duke, so he resorts to something else)
LeRay: SUNSET FLIP! With Duke's shoulders down Rogers has a pin, but it must be an extremely painful one given that Mongoose still has a hold on the chinlock.
Beeman: Roll Dukie, Roll!
LeRay: Rothburn Sallie is checking and...yes here's a count...1---no
Beeman: HOLD ON DUKIE!
(Rogers yells and twists back into a pin...1...2...Duke releases and Rogers collapses gasping for air, but isn't able to move his mask back before Duke presses the advantage)
OOC: I apologize if I totally botched the description and naming of moves, as many know that's a shortcoming of my match writing.

LeRay: Duke Mongoose nails Rogers with a Mongolian Chop! Have we ever seen that one before from Duke?
Beeman: I'm not sure, but it's definitely effective. Look at Rogers staggering around!
LeRay: I don't know how much of that is from the Mongolian Chop rather than the fact that Red is still blinded by his own mask. Another Mongolian Chop and Rogers is down to a knee! ANOTHER MONGOLIAN CHOP! Rogers is down and could be out!
Beeman: You sound surprised. I'm not. I expected Duke to run through this guy!
(Duke climbs to the second rope - the most dangerous rope - and stops to pose for the fans, who shower him with boos and jeers)
LeRay: This could be a tragic miscalculation by Mongoose, as he's giving Rogers time to recover.
Beeman: Duke has the situation under control, LeRay. Trust me.
(As Duke continues posing, Rogers finally manages to get his mask straightened out. Now with the ability to see what he's doing, Rogers springs into action and leaps up onto the second rope alongside Duke. Startled, Duke leaves himself wide open to be taken to the mat by a Russian Leg Sweep)
LeRay: Kamtchatka Crunch by Rogers! Duke was caught unawares and now Rogers goes for a cover!
*One...Two...Kickout!*
Beeman: Blind him again, Duke! He deserves it!
LeRay: Would you stop?!

Rogers scrambles up and bounces off the ropes, then comes in with a baseball slide as Duke is sitting up the echoing smack of boot to chest echoes in the ring.
Beeman: No no no NOOOO! C'mon DUKIE BABY!!!
LeRay: Rogers clearly with the momentum now, he's going to pick up Duke and give him a whip into the ropes! Drop kick and a beaut! Duke is back up, but so is Rogers...there's another drop kick...and another, and Duke is staying down this time!
Beeman: Who the hell ever won with a drop kick?!?
LeRay: Duke is down and Rogers...ooh no! Duke was playing possum and a shot to the lower abdomen is going to slow Rogers down finally.
Beeman: That's the lowest abdomen I've seen on anyone that isn't a Ken doll.

LeRay: Unfortunately for Rogers, the referee didn't see if that last blow was too low or not, and Duke is looking to capitalize on his good fortune. Duke sets up Rogers and drives him into the mat with a Jumping Piledriver! A cover by Mongoose!
*One...Two......Kickout*
Beeman: He got him!
LeRay: No, Rogers just barely beat the count, but it was as close as you can get.
Beeman: Ah, fooey!
LeRay: Mongoose is applying some kind of hold to the trapezius of Rogers. Another new maneuver from "Big Daddy"?
Beeman: That's the Ionian Nerve Grip, LeRay!
LeRay: The Ionian Nerve Grip? How do you know what that is and I don't?
Beeman: Hold on... yes! It's gone MAGNA!
LeRay: What the heck are you blathering about? Duke just grabbed his own wrist with his free hand.
Beeman: Don't you know anything, Mick?
LeRay: Apparently not, but Rogers certainly knows the pain he finds himself in. Can Rogers find a way out of the... Ionian Nerve Grip?

OOC: Sorry, have had to handle sick kids for the last while
(Rogers drops to one knee under the pressure of the Ionian nerve grip, Duke snaps and snarls at the crowd)
Beeman: I see the next J-1 Champion...and it's not Rogers!
LeRay: Not so fast! Rogers grabs Duke round the neck and flips him over with a snapmare. That's a big shock for a man as big as Duke Mongoose.
(Rogers applies a headlock but Duke quickly drives an elbow into Rogers to push and break the hold)
Beeman: Duke isn't about to let something that simple get in his way! He laughs at danger and fears no man! A headlock...please, that's JV stuff...
LeRay: Mongoose back to his feet and looks like he's coming back in for those Mongolian chops
Beeman: Keep crushing that neck! Get him ready to swing from the long arm!!
(Rogers ducks down and quickly flips Duke with a backbody drop)
LeRay: Roger's gets away again...and goes into the corner in front of Duke
Beeman: The Twit!
(Rogers bounces on the second rope as Duke gets up, grabs big daddy Duke in a headscissors and pulls him in to the turnbuckle bringing Duke to his knees again)
LeRay: Quick escape from Rogers, and Duke's down again...
Beeman: Not for long!
LeRay: No, Rogers is getting him up and...oh, that looks like the Crystal Skull Crusher! four...five...six, and he stops while Duke looks woozy
(The camera shows Rogers smiling at the camera and waving to say "Hi, 'Zona, good to have you back!")
LeRay: A tip of the hat er mask to Arizona Chance, but with Duke unsteady, I think Rogers is about to do what he does best
Beeman: Get jabronis to hang around him?
LeRay: Uhhh... no, he's getting Duke into position for the Swashbuckler!
Beeman: Wait...not that one! Dukie--get out of there...
(But it's too late, Rogers hits the Swashbuckler and Rothburn Sallie makes the three count)
