Question about starting over mid-decade

I just got to 1985 in my game and I had a thought. I could take this time to start a NG+ starting in '85 and wipe my fed history clean. No need to look at that ugly stretch in 1982 where there were 7 World Champions who made a total of 7 successful title defenses between them. Before I do that, though, I need to know what and when I'm going to unlock new arenas and sponsors. At the start of 1986, what I am going to get if I start over? Will I get the new arena and sponsor as if I kept going? Or am I not going to get those things until I hit year 6 (i.e. 1991) in my NG+?

Nah, when you finish the year you'll keep getting a new venue and sponsor card until you've got them all, regardless of where you start.

Each new venue and sponsor card corresponds with a year, (I.E. Akarivision and Boston Arena can only be unlocked between 1980 and 1981.

Well, this is all conflicting information.

I could be wrong and often am. Obviously we need a tiebreaker. It’s been a while since I’ve started over, but that’s what I thought I remembered

I'm fairly certain the venues and sponsors are tied to the years.

Although, there is a weird glitch with Atarivision and the Boston Arena where you have to do a full runthrough, restart and get through 1980 again to get them.
