The lights dim, spotlights hit the ramp:
Beeman: Here he comes, the silent grouch. LeRay: Not so silent anymore. Apparently he speaks to Chad. Beeman: But will Chad speak back... with his fists?
Seph Kobane steps onto the ramp, his white sunglasses on, flannel hanging off his frame, his drawn jaw chewing, Converse laces trailing under the cuffs of his torn jeans.
As the lyrics hit, Seph strolls to the ring, gazing lazily at the crowd around him. He walks right up to a fan who is jawing off and stands, hands in pockets, towards the fan.
LeRay: What's the fuss here? Beeman: Some people haven't forgotten the events of one year ago, when Seph was semi-responsible for nearly destroying the JWA with Insane as part of The Compound.
After a moment, he turns silently towards the ring and continues.
Rod C: Entering the ring first, hailing from Grey Harbour, Washington, he is the man formerly known as The Truth, Seph Koooooooobane!
Seph wipes his feet on the apron out of respect, enters the ring and strolls over to the opposite turnbuckle, his sunglasses still on. He hops up onto the turnbuckle, sits and watches the entrance as his music fades, waiting for the man who broke his silence...

"It Could Have Been Me" by the Struts rips through the arena and Chad Shredsbury emerges from Gorilla and stops on the stage. He drinks in the crowd, and drops to a knee throwing up a double hang loose to the jeers of the masses.
LeRay: And here he comes. The man who, from what I could surmise, admitted to having no problem beating up America's youth.
Beeman: That may be sensationalizing it a whole lot, but you can't argue with success. Chad Shredsbury is starting off this tournament just as well as Chesterton Shredsbury did last year.
LeRay: With a very different audience reaction, I might add. Although, it certainly seems like this man is an entirely different surfer than the Dude of Wales we all knew and loved.
Beeman: Speak for yourself, LeRay. I think Chad isn't so bad. He doesn't do that ludicrous surf the turnbuckle act anymore. I hated that thing.
LeRay: You really did, Sean. Well, he's in the ring now and referee Tasha West is going over the rules, which, neither competitor seems to be paying any mind to at all. Seph Kobane is actually looking at his phone.
Beeman: It's a Titanium, LeRay, haven't you heard? The latest in cellular technology.
LeRay: It's an illegal foreign object, Sean. One that was literally used in a match just a few weeks ago and-- wow! As West was trying to talk Seph away from his phone, Chad kicked it right out of his hands!
Beeman: And Kobane responds with an immediate punch to the face! I like that moxie, kid!
LeRay: There's the bell and this one is off to brutal start as these two are slugging it out in the center of the squared circle! It's already a pier six brawl!
Beeman: The most dangerous pier!

Chad quickly gets the upper hand and whips Seph into the ropes, knocking the greasy grunger down with a shoulder barge. Chad bolts for the ropes himself, only for Seph to roll out of the way as Chad drops to a driving knee mid-ring. As the surfer stumbles to his feet, hopping, Seph grabs him from behind and attempts a backdrop. Chad reverses this, rolling behind Seph and hitting a German suplex. The crowd pop.
Beeman: That poor loser is getting pummelled by the former Welshman. LeRay: What do you expect? Seph has no respect for this business! Beeman: That's just it, Mick. LeRay: What? Beeman: He sees it as a business, as a job. To us, to others, to Chad, this is more than a career. It's a way of life. Seph has to respect that. LeRay: He's about to get the respect slapped out of his mouth!
Chad lifts Seph up by his dirty hair, and into a suplex, dropping him mid-ring, ready to hit the pin...

LeRay. Shredsbury has got to have Kobane right west he wants him. He runs to the ropes and hits a springboard surfsault and covers his opponent for one-two-a lockout by Seph.
Beeman. Gotta respect the resiliency of this kid. Also respect Chad for not missing a beat here. He’s dragging Seph by that greasy mop of his and he fires him into the ropes and lands a crisp dropkick to the chest as Seph comes back from the Irish whip.
LeRay. I’m not sure I even want to see Seph Kobane suffer a beating like this. Chad is in total control and, of course, he stops now to take a knee and flex for the displeasure of the masses.
Beeman. Look at the definition on Chad. Those extra reps at the gym have really been paying off!!

LeRay. He’s as chiseled as he is despicable, Sean, but he’s underestimating the toughness of his opponent here. Seph is back on his feet and standing behind Chad now.
Beeman. He is, and now he’s rolling his eyes as Chad stand and turns to get slapped right across the mouth. Oh, he slapped the taste right out of it there! Shredsbury is not happy.
LeRay. Kobane now with a knee to the gut and a snap suplex to Chad. And he follows up with a few stomps. Just like that the tide has turned here, as it does in the J1 Pinnacle!
Beeman. Seph now picking Shreds up by his long blonde locks and delivering a vicious chop across the chest! (Woo!).
LeRay. Chad firing back with a chop of his own (Woo!). And now they take turns other knife edge chops welting up the chest of each combatant. (Woo! Woo! Woo!)

Seph rolls away and clutches his battered body. He hangs against the ropes and Chad takes no time in spinning him around, taking a step back and launching a superkick into Seph's face.
The clap is cacophonous.
Chad steps back. Seph teeters, balances and finally falls back into the ring, takes two steps and-
Beeman: Oh my!
Seph connects Chad right in the chin with a superkick of his own. It is now Chad's turn to stumble backwards, bounce off the ropes and hit a second superkick.
LeRay: The sound of that crack!
The two trade superkicks, faster and faster until Seph goes too high and Chad goes low. With a roaring lurch, the surfer lifts Seph up for a high-angle spinebuster and the pair spring off the ring and land beside each other, their chests and necks red raw with bootmarks. Chad, still lying on his back, places a hand on Seph's chest.
One! Two!
Seph swipes his hand away. Chad tries again.
One! Two!
This time Seph rolls away and one to one elbow, stretching his injured jaw. The count has begun and both men seem out for it.

LeRay. Tasha West gets all the way to an 8 count before the competitors can crawl their way to the ropes and pick themselves back up to their feet.
Beeman. There are some achey breaky jaws in that ring right now, LeRay.
LeRay. Kobane is shaking his rattled head and he comes off toward the center of he ring and walks right into a beautiful disaster kick from Chad!
Beeman. But Seph stays on his feet and fires back a roundhouse kick to the face of Shredsbury! Chad spins around and Seph picks him up looking to attempt… an atomic drop? But Shredsbury floats over his shoulders and drops Kobane down in an inverted ddt.
LeRay. Unbelievable move by the surfing scoundrel, who now kips up and leaps to the top rope.
Beeman. What’s he doing up there? Oh my! A surf’s up frog splash! One-two-three!!! Another huge J1 win for Chad Shredsbury!!!
LeRay. That was surely a tough battle for both of these men!!! Seph is nursing his ribs, and probably a number of other things as he lays in the ring. Chad doesn’t look too comfortable either for that matter.
Beeman. But he is getting his hand raised, and that’s all he cares about right now.
