Greetings, grapple fans!
With only two weeks remaining in the J-1 Pinnacle, we're starting to get a better idea of who will be competing in the finals. Block A is still mostly wide open coming into tonight, with a battle at the top set for tonight's main event between Red Pirate Rogers and Bad Luck Bradley. Block B is down to only two who can win it, but they won't face each other until next week. This week's results could play a major factor in what conditions are required to win the block next week, so every match is important! Let's take a look at tonight's card.
Block A:
Arizona Chance (3) vs. "Lord" Taylor Thorin (0)
As a result of his forfeit last week, his Lordship is officially eliminated from being able to win the block. We do not know for certain what fate has befallen the "Lord of the Ring", but he has an opportunity to play spoiler this week, as Arizona's only hopes of winning the group rely on a victory tonight. Will Chance get the same luck as Omega Satyros last week and be awarded a forfeit victory? Will his Lordship shock the world and defeat the reigning World Heavyweight Champion?
Duke Mongoose (3) vs. Omega Satyros (3)
This is an elimination match, as neither man can afford to drop points this week if they want to have a shot at winning the group. Granted, victory tonight will not guarantee anything, but a win plus other results could keep things interesting going into the final week. Mongoose once again went to a time limit draw with his nemesis Bad Luck Bradley last week, and that may end up costing him. Similarly, Omega's draw with Arizona in week one could end up being the difference maker as well. In some ways, both of these men had a "night off" last week. What kind of a bout can we expect here tonight, with both men fighting for survival?
Red Pirate Rogers (4) vs. Bad Luck Bradley (5)
This is tonight's main event, the battle at the top of Block A. Bradley's incredible undefeated streak came to an end last week with the draw to Duke Mongoose, but he still controls his own destiny coming into tonight. Red Pirate Rogers got caught by Arizona Chance last week in a friendly rivalry, and he'll be looking to get back on track and capture the Block. Who will take another step closer to the J-1 Pinnacle trophy?
Block B:
Tommy End (2) vs. Chad Shredsbury (6)
All eyes were on The Dutch Destroyer when he returned to JWA for the J-1 Pinnacle, but an unfortunate series of results have left him eliminated from winning the block. Quite the opposite is true for Chad Shredsbury, who has been cruising through the competition thus far and has guaranteed that he will be one of two men who can win the block next week. Tommy End finds himself in the position of spoiler, as a victory here this week could make things a bit more difficult for Shredsbury.
Penguino (6) vs. Pierre The Enormous (2)
Much like Tommy End, sentimental favorite Pierre has found himself on the outside looking in, sitting in a similar role of spoiler as he takes on Penguino, the other person who could win the block next week. Pierre and Penguino may find themselves unlikely allies in the future because of their mutual disgust with Chad Shredsbury, but tonight it's all about the J-1 Pinnacle. Will Penguino continue his streak, or will The Enormous One take out his frustrations here tonight?
Chief Buffalo (2) vs. Seph Kobane (0)
It's the battle at the bottom, folks. Chief Buffalo will be looking to get a few more points on the board, while Kobane will be looking to get his first points on the board. This one is more for personal pride than anything else. It should still make for an interesting fight considering the parties involved.
That's enough of my yammering. Let's start the show! Get out there and work your gimmick!
(The polls will be open for at least 24 hours. It doesn't matter who you vote for, just that you participate!)
