Greetings, grapple fans!
Welcome to the first episode of JWA Glory for the year 2024! We're kicking it off with a big time main event featuring two women who are no strangers to one another, but who are very different people from the last time they met. It's going to be "The Reminiscer" Winter Hex, fresh off of her "Most Hated" Jammy Award victory, taking on the the returning and reimagined Miss Jessie, now known as "The Mean Queen" Jessie Aldean! Jessie showed up at the Jammys to spoil Winter's festivities, and she brought along the big Chief Buffalo. It turns out that Jessie was the person Buffalo was alluding to a few weeks back when he decided to step away from the ring. This match will have major championship implications, as the winner will most likely be going on to face Daisy Turner for the JWA Women's World Championship at Destiny! Can Winter ride the momentum of her Jammy victory, or will the Mean Queen be too much to handle?
(The polls will be open for at least 24 hours. It doesn't matter who you vote for, just that you participate!)
Another match that came about as a result of goings-on at the Jammys is next week's main event. Red Pirate Rogers and his former nemesis, "Lord" Taylor Thorin, will be fighting alongside Omega Satyros and his mentor Diablo, to do battle with the former Colorful Crew in a 4 vs 4 elimination match. Rogers and company are looking to start the new year off by closing the book on some old business.
New business on the plate of Rogers this year could include settling things with his former tag team partner Mack Caliber, the man who's involvement directly led to Rogers' defeat in the J-1 Finals to Chad Shredsbury. It seems that young Mack is harboring a lot of negative feelings and anger towards Red for what happened when Mack vacated the World Heavyweight Title, and he seems dead set on taking revenge on the Crimson Corsair.
Chad Shredsbury will be challenging Arizona Chance for the JWA World Heavyweight Championship at Destiny, but I get the feeling that these two won't be able to stay separated until then. We expect to hear from both champion and challenger during tonight's broadcast.
Arizona Chance is fresh off a victory on JWA Mania over The Black Cat, who is a recent associate of Omega Satyros & Diablo. Could there be something more brewing than meets the eye?
Duke Mongoose & Penguino retained the World Tag Team Championship over the Bad Luck Bros two weeks ago. What's next for Bradley & Kobane, and who will step up to challenge Duke & Penguino?
"Relentless" Conor Caine won the Worker of the Year Jammy Award for the second time in a row, as well as capturing the Match of the Year award for his bout with Arizona Chance at Guts & Gory. We saw the former champion at the award ceremony and we hope to have continued updates on his recovery.
At JWA Mania, Kazuko Jin challenged Sakura Watanabe to a Prison Cell match at JWA Destiny. Will Sakura accept the challenge?
Let's start the show! Get out there and work your gimmick!

Honest Sal: Please welcome my guest at this time, he is one half of the JWA World Tag Team Champions... Duke Mongoose!
(Fans boo as Duke makes his way through the curtain into the JWA Studio and walks confidently over to the podium. Duke is wearing his "FRVR CHMP" shirt)
Sal: Quite the reception, Duke.
Duke: SALLY BOY! I should wring your neck right here on television, live and in living color, for that stunt you pulled on me at the Jammys last week!
Sal: I'm not sure what you're talking about.
Duke: You put some kind of spell on Big Daddy Duke! Some kind of hypno-nonsense! You walked out with all of my fine foxy ladies!
Sal: I most certainly did NOT cast a spell on you, and those ladies left of their own accord, I'll have know.
Duke: Really? Huh. That's not how I remember it, but then again that's now how I remember a lot of things!
Sal: Unfortunately Duke, another year and no Jammys. But you were nominated for quite a few.
Duke: People are generally intimidated by my presence, Sally Boy. They're too scared to vote for me. Big Daddy Duke understands.
Sal: I don't think I understand.
Duke: Your understanding is irrelevant!
Sal: The question on everyone's mind right now is: what's next for the tag team champions?
Duke: Big Daddy Duke, the man with the superior exterior, isn't concerned about what's next for these titles. Read the shirt, Sal. My boy Penguino and I are going to be champs FOREVER! My focus is instead on what I have earned. On what I am OWED! And that's a shot at the World Heavyweight Title! Arizona Chance, you keep ducking me at every turn! If you're not afraid to fight Big Daddy Duke, then just sign the match and prove it! I beat you in the J-1 and I'll do it again!
Sal: Chance has stated that after the match with Chad Shredsbury at Destiny he'll face any worthy challengers.
Duke: AFTER DESTINY?!?! AFTER?!?! That's right, Chance, artificially inflate your title reign by dodging challengers!
Sal: Hold on now, I don't think he's necessarily-
Duke: And as for the tag team division, anyone who wants to step up can get stepped on! Big Daddy Duke and the Devil Bird will gladly send you packing back to wherever you crawled out of! Call your grandmother, Sal! This interview is over!
(Duke storms away from the podium)
Sal: Who will step up to challenge for the tag team titles? Will Arizona grant Duke's request for a title match before Destiny? Stay with us fans, we'll be back right after this quick time out!

JWA.com exclusive. In a poorly lit room we see a black and white television airing Dick Clark’s New Years Rocking Eve. The ball hangs high above Times Square as the clock counts down from ten. But we hear the constant crunching sound of someone eating potato chips. As the count down nears 3-2-1 a large belch is heard and the crashing of someone falling out of a chair. A cape flutters across the camera and the screen cuts out to the message:
HAPPY DOOMS YEAR.

Crazy by Patsy Cline plays and out comes "The Reminiscer" Winter Hex with the black and white tv filter. As she walks down the ramp she lip syncs to the classic song while doing some over the top movement. She gets in the ring and the moment the songs plays the 2nd verse. A blackout occurs and A spotlight is all alone shining on Winter Hex and continues to finish the 2nd verse. Once that verse is done the lights go back on and gone is the black and white filte
Beeman: Now that is what you call an entrance. Can't wait for Jessie Aldean to flop at her
LeRay: Well the entrance isn't everything. She does need to prove herself in the ring against a former champion like Winter Hex.

Toni: My guest at this time, Omega Satyros. Omega, you're recently decided to take a stand with Red Pirate Rogers and Taylor Thorin against the Mutiny. Are you worried that this situation is serving as a distraction from other plans?
Omega: Well, my original plan coming out of the J-1 was going to be a program with Tommy End, but he decided to slip back to MMA with hardly a mention of his plans. So while I could come out here and whine and moan about wanting a title shot like some people, I recognize where I currently stand in the world title scene, and I plan to keep busy while Chad Shredsbury has his match at Destiny.
Toni: And what made you decide on standing with Rogers and Thorin for that?
Omega: Two things really, helping Black Cat get some payback on Kenny Wynn and Chase Victory for leaving him high and dry and not wanting to let EITC and Mutiny get away with a bs numbers advantage, I know from my issues with the Beeman Family last year how much that kind of numbers disadvantage sucks.
Toni: Speaking of that, any updates on Diablo's condition for the big 4-4 match next week?
Omega: EITC fancy themselves as big men on the high seas, but they failed to do much damage. Diablo will be 100% ready for next week's match.
Nic Blunt: I find that hard to believe, given the force The Punter can get behind his kicks.
The Punter and Vegas Viggins file in behind Nic, Black Cat and Troglo filing in behind Omega.
Omega: Run off, I doubt your boss Bullingham wants to watch me wipe the floor your asses again.

The arena goes dark as Hysteria by Muse begins to play. As the guitar joins, a single spotlight silhouettes Arizona Chance, holding the JWA Championship aloft. As the full band hits, the arena is awash in white light for a moment, and Chance heads to the podium where Toni Cruise awaits.
TONI: Arizona, we’ve just heard from Duke Mon—
CHANCE: I know, Toni, I was here. Duke, don’t worry, you’ll get your shot. But if something happens and Chad Shredsbury beats me at Destiny, then your claim to a title match goes up in smoke with it. So, I’m going to politely ask you to do what you always do and act in your own self-interest by doing something you never do, which is to hold your tongue for a bit.
TONI: So, about that Destiny match against Chad— can you tell us how you plan to beat the not-Welsh Waverider?
CHANCE: No.
TONI: Care to elaborate?
CHANCE: I mean, Toni, I can’t yet. I have to go back to the film room at my palatial estate in the Sonoma Desert and formulate a plan. Chad isn’t a guy with many weaknesses— he’s in tremendous shape. He’s strong, he’s quick, he has good fundamentals, and, unlike Conor Caine, he doesn’t have the wear and tear of a tremendous championship run to potentially have a lingering issue I can exploit. So, Toni, I don’t know yet how I plan to beat Chad. Basically, if God Himself came down and said, “I’m gonna make me a perfect wrestler,” what He came up with would look like Chad. I mean, that’s what you saw in him, right?
TONI, blushing: That’s JWA Champion Arizona Chance, everyone.

There's a pause and then a hard electric guitar riff introduces Fight Like a Girl in an upbeat tempo. Jessie comes running down the aisle while Chief Buffalo in his fringe jacket waddles slowly down to the ring behind her. Jessie slides in and goes to jump Winter Hex, who quickly takes a powder outside, Jessie stands at the ropes yelling, until the ref backs her up so the match can start. Winter slides in, but as soon as the bell rings, Jessie charges in again, but Winter Hex is ready for her and catches her with a monkey flip that sends Jessie up and over the ropes, Winter Hex starts laughing and mock bowing, but Jessie quickly grabs her rivals' ankles, and pulls her down under the bottom rope where she waits to start slashing away with slaps and chops (trading blows with Winter Hex).

Winter is getting very tired and shoves Jessie away. She turns her back to Jessie and tries to call for a break
Winter: CUT! *breathe* CUT!
Jessie Aldean does not listen nor care to what she had to say and tackled her to the ground. She grabbed Winter's head and continuously rammed her head into the ringside floor
Beeman: What is she doing. Winter is calling it cut. Jessie should stop
LeRay: What? Beeman, you should know of all people there aren't any breaks or cuts in wrestling.
Jessie let's go, hops up on the commentary table and gets the crowd excited. Winter gets herself up and prepares to sweep Jessie's feet but Buffalo just gives her a death stare. Winter reacts to this by running away from him to the other side of ringside, enter the ring then taunt Jessie.
Jessie turns her attention to Winter and gets in the ring.

As Jessie ducks between the ropes, Winter capitalizes by hitting her with a running knee and knocking Jessie back into the corner. Winter pulls her out and gives her a face buster, then grabs her hair and lifts her up into a vertical suplex.
LeRay: Jessie has looked more prepared in this match, but her inexperience is certainly showing against the crafty veteran Winter Hex.
Beeman: I mean, really Jessie should be thanking Winter for motivating her to get into better fighting shape. This is what you get when you don't respect the people who paved the way for you!
Winter taunts the crowd while Jessie rolls on the mat, she's looking to cause more pain...but how?

While Winter is breathing in the boos from the audience. Jessie gets to her knees and shoves Winter via the back of the knee. Winter instantly falls to her knees. Aldean capitalized on the moment by rolling her up for a pinfall 1, 2, Kickout!
LeRay: That was a close one. Winter better not get distracted or she may accidentally be 3 counted.
Both girls get up and Jessie swiftly moves, grabs Winter arms goes under and locks in a hammerlock. Winter frees herself and gives Jessie a solid punch. Jessie stumbles back a bit but follows with a flurry of punches only for Winter to kick her in the gut. Jessie then backfires by sweeping Winter off the mat to the ground. Jessie hooks Winter's legs and gets her in a cloverleaf submission hold and Winter is screaming in pain.
LeRay: Will she tap?
Beeman: Definitely not, Winter is a credible athlete. She can for sure withstand this

Winter Hex pushes up to her palms, and pulls herself toward the rope. After a moment's pause, gathering her strength she grabs the rope, but Jessie doesn't let go.
LeRay: Jessie's gotta let go of the hold or risk disqualification Beeman: Why? LeRay: (Confused) Because Winter Hex has the rope Beeman: Doesn't look that way to me.
Indeed Chief Buffalo pulled the rope out of Hex's grip while the ref spoke to Jessie. Tired, Winter reaches again, and grabs it again, as the ref turns Buffalo interferes again.
LeRay: Oh come on now! That's blatant cheating! Beeman: I know! Who thought Buffalo was going to be such a natural as a manager?
This time, when Winter Hex grabs the rope she also slaps Buffalo who steps back shocked and the ref makes Jessie release the hold. Winter Hex's leg look like noodles, and Jessie lifts them up and drives them apart like a wishbone. Fans boo and she walks around the ring blowing beauty queen kisses to everyone.

Now that Jessie is in control, she grabs winter by the hair and pulls her up, then seems to be setting her up.
LeRay: We're a little in the dark about what Jessie might be using her fans, as a relative newcomer her move set is unclear... Beeman: I think it's safe to say she won't be using the buffalo charge though.
Indeed, Jessie bends winter over, and grabs one hand...she starts to set up for a pumphandle slam, but before she can get there, Winter Hex twists free, takes the hand hold and uses it to set up a short arm clothesline that leaves both women down.

1!, 2!, 3!, 4!
Beeman: Looks like these women aren't getting up
5!, 6!, 7!, 8!
LeRay: C'mon don't end it like this!
9! Immediately both women get up. Winter puts her hand behind her back and pulls out the powdered snow. She throws it towards Jessie faces and at the exact same time, Chief Buffalo enters the ring and spears her. The referee rings the bell
LeRay: The referee has rung the bell for a disqualification, but for who?
Beeman: I've got no clue
The referee talks with The Wink to get the official word.
Wink: I have gotten word from our referee, Rothburn Sallie that the timing when the powdered snow hit Jessie's face and the moment when Chief put his hands of her were the exact same time. So the conclusion to this match is a double disqualification.
LeRay: Well you've heard it folks a double disqualification meaning a tie. But the question probably in everyone's mind, who is the one who would face Daisy at Destiny?
