Hi Guys, my first time posting and I've got a few questions if that's OK? I've trawled the boards for my answers and couldn't find a Scooby...
1) From the general concensus, to best level up skill you need to grind matches and also fight two combatants of equal type together, is that right? Or is it place the person needing the skill point against someone one point superior? So for example Wrestler 1 is 10 skill and Wrestler 2 is 11 skill, so putting W1 in there will eventually help him get to 11 skill?
2) If I use a specialist match - I.e. Submission for a Rassler - does that add +1 Skill to the Wrestler or does it increase odds of a skill increase and match rating? For example: Wrestler 1 with 10 skill is a Showman Wrestler 2 with 11 skill is a Rassler Would it go as a) or b) a) If I use submission match, Wrestler 1 stays at 10 and Wrestler 2 goes to 12 so the liklihood of a skill increase goes down? b) If I use it, Wrestler 2 stays at 11 skill but has higher stat potential?
3) Same question for managers actually. If I use Doggo with Wrestler 1 with 10 skill against Wrestler 2 11 Skill, would Doggo increase Wrestler 1 to 11? Or just increase chances?
The short of my question is, to help raise skill, should I be throwing managers and / or specialist matches in there to speed up the situation?
And if that's the case, why don't I turn my fed into the IWA and have everything be a Death Match as that has +Skill, beyond the prohibitive cost of course? Would having more Death Matches or Exploding Rings increase the skill raising potential?
Finally... I LOVE this game. I heard about it on Wrestling with Wregret some years ago and always intended to pick it up but glad I got around to it.

Hello there and welcome aboard.
Depending on what booking mode you use in youtmr game, it may help to load every possible title onto said wrestler so that at PPVs they end up having multiple matches, thus increasing their odds of rasing skill (assuming somewhat comparable skill levels).
You can achieve this through straight booking or using Screwjob (which really helps for this)...I've gotten quite a few guys to max out this way...at the expense of not worrying about storyline for that given run.

Welcome aboard!
RE: Skill increases...there have been multiple theories but nothing confirmed.
For instance, I had a lot of success pairing the person I want to upgrade vs Legendary cards and using Screwjob to virtually guarantee a win...but not so much recently.
Likewise, I also had success with the vs 1 point higher skill bit...but not for ages.
Basically, it appears to be random. Obviously the higher skill a card has, the harder it is to max out.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
I might experiment with managers and specialist matches then - at least for the fun of it!

Welcome!
In my experience, gaining any stats for skill/mic/pop seems totally random - BUT - gaining the 18th/19th/20th stat in any area is very very hard - In fact, the 20th stat I've only gained when I send wrestlers away (or use a coin for the skill stat).
Re your rassler question, two rasslers in a submission match should both gain 1 extra skill and 1 extra push - BUT - I think a rassler and anyone else in a submission match means only the rassler will gain the 1 extra skill/push bonus.
You find that sometimes you'll play to create your own stories / re-create a PPV and sometimes you'll play to purely max out wrestler's card which is a fun grind!

I've been having difficulty getting Turducken to gain skill points, which is surprising because he's only a 10 and a jobber and those historically were the easiest cards to max out.
As for the best way to gain points I haven't got a clue. Much like others have mentioned previously, pretty much every strategy is anecdotally successful at best. I'm sure there's a formula to how it works, but no one has cracked it yet. Hopefully they never do.
