JWA Glory Episode 174 - First Blood Match - Duke vs. Omega

[Chad Shredsbury]

Toni Cruise stands by with Chad Shredsbury.

Toni. Hello again, ladies and gentlemen and at this time I am joined by J1 Pinnacle Winner and the man who seemingly took the Franchise to his limit last week at Destiny. Chad, what kind of spin do you put on your recent draw with Arizona Chance? Is it a good thing that, for the first time, he didn’t defeat you, or is it another disappointment because you also didn’t manage to beat him?

Chad. Whoa, talk about a loaded question there, ma’am.

Toni. Please don’t call me ma’am.

Chad. Whatevs. Look. Chance didn’t beat me. I didn’t beat him. Or maybe we both won and lost to each other at the same time. You can look at it as progress or failure. Personally, I’d have liked the match to continue until a clear winner was declared. There’s no way that Brona is ok with holding the title via a draw. And there’s no way that even cool amigos like Dude Mongoose or Mack Calibro can say they have any claim to a title match before this bro right here. Not when I still haven’t lost my rightful title shot.

Toni. I see. So you still consider yourself the number one contender?

Chad. Tones. Babe.

Toni. (Under her breath) Oh my God.

Chad. I have every right to stand here and consider myself the JWA Champion. I pinned the so called Franchise. So let’s see what the powers that be decide. We all know in our hearts what the reality is. Hang loose, ma’am. (Chad exits).

Toni. I mean seriously, we have to get Sal to do his interviews from now on. This has been just the worst night.

[Duke Mongoose]

LeRay: WHOA! Mongoose ducks under the Satyr kick and nails Omega right in the you-know-where!

Beeman: Well, now they're even.

LeRay: Satyros is hunched over and Duke takes the opportunity to set him up - Jumping Piledriver! Mongoose slides out of the ring and comes back in with a bent steel chair from earlier in the match, which he places on the mat before setting up Satyros again - another Jumping Piledriver! You could hear the "clang" come off the chair when Omega's horns hit the steel!

Beeman: But that might have saved him, being that his head might not have hit flush.

LeRay: Fair point, as Referee LeBiggun checks but still no blood from Satyros. Duke is up in the corner and he's... stomping his foot? It looks like he's trying to shake something in his boot.

Beeman: I know what he's doing! He's got the Thunderfoot Loaded Boot!

LeRay: OH MY! Duke nails Omega with a running big boot to the face as he was trying to get back to his feet! If the boot is "loaded" as you say, that could have split the satyr wide open!

[Thumper Moore III]

Arizona is backstage with Toni Cruise.

TONI: Aribrona… I mean, sorry, Arizona—

ARIZONA: It’s OK, Toni. We’ve both been a bit flummoxed by Chad lately. Hey, BRUH, I heard you earlier… and you’re 100% right about one thing. I’m not gonna be satisfied until I beat you decisively. Unfortunately, that’s gonna have to wait— not my decision, but Kip’s.

TONI: What do you mean, it has to wait?

ARIZONA: Toni, there’s four— really, five guys who have legitimate claims to a title shot. Chad is certainly one of them, and if it was up to me, we’d be doing an Ironman match to settle it once and for all. But it’s not up to me, and frankly, I see Kip’s logic.

TONI: Arizona, you’re talking in circles. Who are the five guys?

ARIZONA: Chad is one. Two of them are fighting in a first blood match tonight— Duke Mongoose, who beat me clean as a whistle in the J-1, and Omega Satyros, who I’ve faced twice and haven’t beaten. The fourth is Mack Caliber, who won decisively at Destiny. The fifth— and someone who I’m looking forward to see get back in the ring— is Conor Caine. Get well soon, brother.

TONI: OK, we have the who— what about the what and how?

ARIZONA: Today’s match is a kind of championship qualifier. Let me be clear— I want all five of these guys to get title shots, because to be the man, WOO, you gotta beat the man, and I want to face all of them. But being real— the chances of me beating all five are small. So, we’ve got to determine who gets to go first. The winner of Duke and Omega will be near the front of the line, as will the winner of next week’s match: Chad Shredsbury vs Mack Caliber.

TONI: You’ve heard it here first: next week, it’s Chad against Mack. Back to you, Mick and Sean.

[Omega Satyros]

Omega staggered to his feet, breathing heavy after the kick. LeBiggun checked, and confirmed his skin wasn't broken.

Duke: How the Hell?!

LeRay: Sounds like Duke loaded the boot, but it wasn't enough!

Beeman: What kind of inhuman insanity is this?!

Duke was perplexed as Omega launched at him like a being of pure fury. He took a blow on the chin, sending him backwards into the turnbuckle. Omega followed it up with a drop kick to the chest that left Duke gasping for air.

LeRay: This has to be it.

Duke, on the ground, secured the chain around his fist as Omega stood in the corner, waiting for the first opportunity to land the finishing blow, a near crazed look on his face.

[Duke Mongoose]

(With almost startling precision, both Omega and Duke strike simultaneously. A flash of crimson darts through the air between them before they part, both men falling onto their backs on the mat)

Beeman: I definitely saw blood, but was it goat blood or mongoose blood?

LeRay: Referee Jack LeBiggun is on the scene... and he calls for the bell!

Beeman: But who won? Who's bleeding?

Rod C: Ladies and gentlemen, as a result of simultaneous bleeding, this match is officially a draw!

(Fans mutter and boo the non-result)

LeRay: Unfortunately it doesn't look like this thing is over between Omega and Duke.

Beeman: Well at least we know that Satyros won't be the next in line for a title shot.

LeRay: How do you figure?

Beeman: He didn't win, did he? Arizona said the winner would be a heavy favorite to be next in line. I don't see Satyros getting his hooves raised!

LeRay: Duke didn't get his hand raised either, Beeman. If Omega is moving back in the line, then so is Mongoose.

Beeman: A steep price to pay, but I think it was worth it. Make the goat man bleed AND cost him a title opportunity? Serves him right for that stunt he pulled at Destiny!

LeRay: Oh brother. Fans, as the medical staff attends to both men, I'll remind you that next week we have another championship qualifier match as Chad Shredsbury will take on Mack Caliber! For "Savvy" Sean Beeman, I'm Mick LeRay, saying 'goodnight'!

[Daisy Turner]

Sakura, Daisy and all the other guest are in the ring. Daisy hands Sakura the microphone and the moment Sakura speaks everyone is shocked (except for Daisy)

Sakura: This journey has been amazing

Everyone had not expected Sakura to speak English

Sakura: Guess you weren't expecting that. Daisy taught me. However anyways, my career in Pro Wrestling has been amazing thrilling. And while from a fan looking in I didn't have the best record in JWA, it was such a blast to have met everyone in the locker room and in life in general. I mean look who showed up tonight! I mean starting my wrestling career at 13 in SUNDOM all the way to here, I'm 23 and retiring. Now I understand, Daisy you did bring me a gift?

Daisy: That's right Sak, I present you with this picture of us so that you'll never forget about the memories we made here in the states

unfamiliar music plays and Ritsuoka Hiraoka walks out

LeRay: Fans for those unfamiliar this is the owner of SUNDOM herself!

Ritsuoka: I'm sorry Sakura for interrupting but I couldn't let this moment pass. You and I both know your history in SUNDOM is richer than any company in the world. That's why I'd like to offer you a position in our creative. We even put it to a vote and made it better by offering you Head of Creative so what do you say?

Sakura is stunned while Daisy hugs her. Sakura then finally Sakura shakes her hand accepting the position. Ritsuoka smile and walks out

Daisy: Now where were you?

Sakura: Well now that I know what I want to do in my future. All that's left to say is... Goodbye and thank you! Thank you all in attendance, thank you all watching at home, thank you JWA Locker Room, producers, execs, Kip Whistler. All I hope is for the best for you guys and the Women's Division.
