Jupiter inspired this thread. He popped up in my shop for the first time, and after seeing his stats I'm far from impressed and am not dropping 100K on a glorified gimmick main eventer. Maybe they should have went with Deebo. Any compelling arguments to purchase him?
Jobbers: I'd have to find one that really hit my nostalgic sweet spot to buy. I don't even use Tennis Pro.

In the original 80MW where I eventually had everyone's standard card, I at least got a little utility out of Jupiter by putting him in tag teams that I'd often use to try to dethrone my most successful tag teams. Of course, now that there are a ton more official tag teams and a bigger variety of top guys, I wouldn't bother with him outside of wanting to be a completionist.
There are two people since then I have and will continue to pass on until I have nothing of equal value to buy. Mr. Fantasy and Almighty Dolla. The first, because I'm even less enthusiastic to pay $200,000 for a wrestler I have no interest in using. There is some utility with his MIC and POP, but I'll wait until I have nothing left to buy for $200,000. The second... eff off, Fabulous Moolah analog. I'm not sure there has been a single more damaging and regressive individual to the pro wrestling business than Moolah. She was never a good worker (and I'm unsure why her doppelganger got such a high skill rating as she has) and that is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to talking about her problematic history. If I ever get to the point of buying her, I will use the Screw Job card in favor of her opponent every single time.

I buy everyone, because 100% completionist right over here.
But as for the people I don't use?
Mandonna: Just...no. HotSteppaz,MC Frosty: They just annoy me Glam: Doesn't appeal to me Vlad the Cruel: He's great in the 90's, but bland in the 80's Princess Starbright + Valley Girl: Super cliche starters Valkyrie: I don't like Wonder Woman(petty I know)

I love running 3 on 3 tag teams with Mr.Fantasy and a corrupt Ace of Spades and The Hunk, with a crooked ref to go along with. When you pit them against Dude Brohan, Buzzsaw and Lazer, it makes for a thrilling encounter. It's even better when Dude Brohan turns into Blockbuster Brohan, gets corrupt, and The Hunk reveals he's been working against Mr.Fantasy the whole time. I have a soft spot for corrupt authority figures, if you couldn't tell lol.

And I have a soft sport for authority figures that only make rare appearances when it is necessary for them to intervene à la Jack Tunney. One of the things I hate about modern American wrestling is the constant need for authority figures to make decisions and especially being part of story lines. It's a wrestling company. Oh, there are two guys who have a difference that needs to be solved? How about we skip the weekly 20-minute long introduction where we have to remind ourselves like Alzheimer's patients that there is an easy mechanism set up for for settling differences? Just a thought.

When it comes to wrestlers, those which are overvalued like Sumo San and Jupiter, I usually avoided when I did Free to Play. Likewise, I also avoided Push Bonus cards because I personally found them to be overpriced.

Sumo San is awesome. Jupiter is awesome. Glam is awesome.
The only cards I won't buy: foils, unless I have to.
There isn't a character in the game I absolutely despise. I know people don't like Moolah (I sure don't) but I consider Almighty Dolla to be different. They pay homage to the fact she was a long-time champ. Not the fact that she was an awful person. Dude Brohan is also not Hulk Hogan. Etc, etc.
MC Frosty might be the only person I truly feel zero for, but that'll change once I give him a storyline. Then I'll be fine with him.

Just a thought. Well, this was modeled after Attitude Era wrestling, where McMahon would interject himself basically everywhere. So I appreciate that the game has someone like that so we can reenact those moments from the Attitude Era, and put our own spin on them. But to each their own.

Anyone picked up the Slashmaster card with him holding the knife and the film rating? Cool looking card, but it's also bad like the one I already have, one fewer point in all four categories, and only useable from 85-89 as opposed to the others 80-89. Seems like a waste of $100K.
