"(Don't Fear) The Reaper" sounds, and an ornate procession hits, Amana and Artemis making their way down to the ring.
LeRay: Both fighters in this match are looking to right the ship after an early derailment. The big question is whether we'll be seeing Bayou Burl or The Fright here tonight. I'd say these two should have some familiarity with each other, but Artemis fought Lady Gallus out of the preview match before Bayou Burl even made it to the ring.
Beeman: After spending all her return dealing with Gallus, I'd hope Artemis can be focused on moving forward here tonight. Such a shame that Pierre the Enormous decided to be a nuisance last week.

After a short while waiting, Artemis demands the bell rung and the count started.
LeRay: Artemis seems pretty sure Burl isn't going to show up tonight.
Beeman: I mean, if he has The Fright, maybe that would be a mistake. But if Burl himself was planning, he's probably smart not stepping in the ring with a frustrated Goddess.
LeRay: The way she's doing it makes me wonder if she did something to keep Burl occupied?
Referee Tasha West is hesitant to keep counting, much to Artemis and Queen Amana's chagrin. 5. 6. 7...

The lights go out...The ref stops counting.
Beeman: "What the...."
They come back on. Burl, once more in his usual state, has appeared in the ring behind Artemis - who's looking up at the stage anticipating his entrance.
LeRay: "Well...There he is, and--Oh! Rollup attempt by Burl! Artemis hasn't even seen him yet!! 1-2---No! Kickout!"
Artemis gets to her feet and looks at Burl in surprise. Burl looks at her with a mischievous smile as the match finally gets under way.

Artemis glares at Burl with a look of annoyance before flying at him with a volley of forearms. She takes him by surprise and gets him on the backfoot before tying an Irish whip, but Burl manages to reverse it and nails a big boot to the face. He turns to the crowd and does a muscle-man pose as Artemis stirs.
LeRay: "Burl isn't quite as much of a size mismatch as Pierre was last week, but no doubt the 6'3 almost 300lber has a big power advantage in this one..."
Beeman: "The sky is also blue, LeRay. Have you told the audience about that yet?"
Burl walks over to Artemis and grabs her by the hair, looking to pull her up and continue the assault. Artemis catches him with a small package - almost getting a three count of her own! Burl rolls out the ring to collect himself, sees Amana glaring at him a few feet away and then immediately slides back in. Now back in the ring, Burl manages to catch Artemis in a side headlock, looking to minimize the impact of Artemis's quickness.
LeRay: "Good strategy by Burl, slowing the match down against a lighter foe is a good way to stop them running circles around you..."
Amana yells encouragement at Artemis as she tries to break out of Burl's grip.

Artemis slips out of the headlock and drops kicks Burl into the ropes from behind. Burl catches himself on the ropes as Artemis runs at him, and he's able to send her over the top rope onto the apron. She catches him with a dropkick, sending him staggering back and climbs to the top rope. Burl manages to get himself out of range for The Night's End and Artemis has to go for a simple crossbody instead. However, Burl manages to use his power to roll through and hoists Artemis above his head.
LeRay: "The size factor coming into play here! Burl hoists her up!"
Burl is gearing up for a big move to end the match, but Artemis is still lucid as well...What's gonna happen here?

Burl gets Artemis over his shoulders but Artemis counters into a stunner, sending Burl back towards the corner of the ring.
LeRay: "Artemis counters with a stunner, and that's the one place Burl doesn't want to be! Artemis scales the turnbuckles and here comes another one! The one that really counts! The Nights End! 1-2-3!"
The referee raises Artemis's hand in victory as Amana climbs into the ring. Burl rolls out of the ring - a feeling of deja vu for this J-1 campaign so far - and looks up into the ring from ringside, an extremely frustrated look on his face.
