If I worked for Checkmate and I was designing these games, I would make it my mission to release 00's in 2019 and 10's in 2020.
That would be cool.

While I truly enjoy the ‘use your imagination’ aspect of this game, I would really like some interview segments and skits that involve some actual... y’know... pro rasslin style violence.
Interviews that turn into brawls. Backstage brawls. Pre Match Ambush. Wrestler A hits Wrestler B with his car (90s wrestling featured a surprising amount of attempted vehicular manslaughter) Segments that end in massive mulitperson brawls (think Gang Warfare Era Raw or basically every Nitro ever)
Etc . It’s just that most of the segment options are surpassingly non violent for a game based in pro wrestling. Plus - if possible - these segments would add the opportunity to get more use out of feud cards

Since there's been some upcoming updates for foil cards, what about Foil Merch? As it stands you have to train pretty much every card in the game twice for each foil copy, and sometimes to unlock the merchandise for a character (if you get the foil version) you have to level up the non-foil one first. So say I have Foil Soul Daddy, if I want to use his merchandise when I play him, I have to train up the non-foil one first. All the time I invest in that non-foil version is time I could be spending on the foil version.
You could have the foil merchandise unlock for the foil cards, and maybe it's worth double what the regular merchandise is? Incentivize the foil cards and really help those opener and jobber cards become essential pieces of the fed lol.

I would like to see more feuds for openers, mid and upper mid carders. I like the fact that the game forces you to use your openers and mid cards, most of my favorite cars are openers or mid's but they need more feuds. Also when we have an opener only or mid card only match i would like the feuds that are available (officer chip vs rad racer for example) to show up when i hit the flavor button like they do in a normal 1v1. A lot of people want to see new decades added new mechanics added ect, personally all i want is more of what we already have more cards more feuds more tag teams more 3's team. more of everything!

I have a few hopes for the next update, for premium and newer players.
First, being able to choose any year that you wish to start the game. All we have now are 1980, 1985, and 1990. This can make feuds and tag teams easier to unlock over time.
Second, if we are going this route, we should also be able to choose our starting champions (since 1991 or later would prevent Dr. B, Star Boy, and the Neon Express from being active). The way this can be implemented is the same way you put stuff in for the Year-End Awards, just for choosing champions.
Finally, for free to play and newer players, more female characters at the start of the game (that you don't have to buy) would be excellent. This way, the Ladies Division doesn't end up being just 2 wrestlers at the start.

Truck Brawl match (for Loners; basically the same as the King of the Road match in 1995 WCW), Handicap matches (one-on-two), and Company Supershows (gives the player a selection of matches, with randomly-generated wrestlers representing the opposing company to face).
Ability to create unofficial tag teams and name them. Unofficial teams start with +1 Skill but zero Push, but Push grows the longer the team stays together. Good and Bad wrestlers teaming up can result in Tweener teams.
Decision on which version of a wrestler to use yearly (i.e. Say I have both Star Boy and Death Star Boy, both of which last from 1980-1990. For one year, say 1980, I can pick Star Boy to use for that whole year. The next year, 1981, I choose to use Death Star Boy for the duration of the next year). Can also work per quarter (every three months).
New Game++, completely restarts the game and wipes the slate clean. You start with a handful of cards and must work your way back up. To make things easier, cards are now cheaper, and you gain more money from wrestler merch. Completing New Game++ gives the player $2 million to use towards the next new game, and can be repeated.

The ability to select Tag Team partners as managers for defending champions
A Create a Tag Team/Feud flavor card for our own custom pairings

Humm...
More good managers. Interfearance events. Note: it is not officially a match (cause a match intervened results in an automatic disqualification). This event is a oddity because there is a chance any wrestler in it could be injered.

Sorry if I am repeating anybody, but I have a few ideas that are intentionally a bit vague. Also, if I suggest something completely impossible to program, mark it up to idiocy.
Manager-Wrestler team ups: If I use "The Thinker" with "Pierre the Enormous" or "Flawless One" for example, or "Mort" with "Undermaster" or "Troglo" maybe there's some kind of bonus? As it stands, I love the flexibility managers have, but oftentimes there's no reason to use wrestlers with their real-world manager counterparts. It simply be a brand new pairing, and could even open up the door down the road for foil Manager cards to earn foil-manager team ups.
A more in-depth Merch system: So let me start out by saying that I love that the game lets us have merchandise for our favorite wrestlers, which does provide motivation to train them, but the problem is in its current state it kind of plateaus after a while. There's no motivation for me not to deliberately book only the wrestlers whose Merch I have unlocked, which ends up making my shows very homogeneous and "same-ey". I would love to see options to, for example, earn bonuses to merchandise the more a wrestler appears on a show. Or perhaps a special type of segment that boosts merchandise sales, with some wrestlers earning bonuses to their merchandise at the cost of not being able to train?
Or if we're going super crazy, maybe each wrestler's merchandise has an XP bar, and every time you sell that wrestler's merchandise, it fills up. Fill up a wrestler's merchandise bar all the way (let's say you have to sell a T-shirt at 50 shows) and the wrestler is able to get boosted up a rank. Obviously the difficulty could scale upward, but the idea would remain the same.
Sandbox mode: Exactly what it sounds like. You get access to unlimited money and any one of the wrestler cards you own, regardless of active years, but you don't have access to the store and cannot boost your cards' stats.
Improved Rivalry system: Pretty much aping from GM Mode here, but it does get kind of frustrating that I have two wrestlers who are supposed to be in a blood feud, but I end up having to have them only fight every other week, and appearing in rivalry segements together (such as arm wrestling) is counterproductive because I have to mix face and heel. Imagine if there was a way to have a rivalry in a given month where it keeps track of whether or not the two appear in matches with each other, and adds a star boost depending on how long they've been doing it? If it's a unique system entirely, you could have it where the players can make their own rivalries, with bonuses for using the actual suggested rivalvries. The game could keep track of the average match rating, etc. I like that the game has so many rivalries, but it ultimately comes down to forcing a lot of imagination.
Squash matches as a match type: Booking upper midcard or higher with a jobber right now is borderline insanity given that the jobber will harm the match rating. What if you could select a squash match, and it would only count the higher rated wrestler's points, or had a lower ceiling overall? Squash matches are an essential part of wrestling after all.
More flexibility with the matches: I get that the game has mandatory matches as part of the mechanics, such as midcard only. But I also wonder if it couldn't be "Midcard or lower" or even "Opener or Lower" rather than "Only" the reason I mention is that there are very few feuds at the moment that involve ONLY midcarders, and almost none that involve ONLY jobbers, which limits your ability to book people.
WITH ALL THIS SAID, I Love the game and have probably spent more on it than any other mobile game, but I do think that players hit a ceiling at some point where they have to choose between their own bookings or doing the things that make the most sense financially to grind out money. I would love to put more control in the player's hands over their own show, but more specfically to award creativity. Right now it does seem like there's a "best" way to play the game, and I wonder if there has to be?
