Hey all, I’m new here, but read the beginner stuff and I can’t seem to get decent results for my matches.
For example: in the same p4v
Doberman Duke foil vs Soul Daddy foil in Submission Match gets 1*
And
Chicano vs Dr. B in a Lumberjack match gets 1*
Am I missing something or just unlucky?

No, it's not "all RNG"... The primary strategy you want to apply when looking for higher Star ratings for your matches is increasing the total SKILL involved in the match. Look for Wrestlers with higher SKILL, look for SKILL bonuses on Flavor cards and look to sync Wrestler types with Match types that they're involved in. |

Looking at the post here, that's the one thing about matches that make them different from promos and skits. While there is definitely some control over making sure you "can" get a good match like choosing wrestlers with a high skill rating and choosing match types, push bonuses, and feuds that give more stars, once you select to simulate that match, Lady Luck will work her magic, and chances are, Lady Luck just decided to hate you on that P4V.
It's to emulate the fact that sometimes, a wrestler just ends up having a bad day on the job even if their skill is higher than usual.
