Hey guys, I was just wondering, how many of you go after the Foil cards and how many of you skip them?

Buying the cheaper ones now just to stop them from showing up in the store. I’ll probably use them tho if I want an opener to try get a victory.

The only foils i dont have are some of the main eventers and legendaries, but i buy them whenever i get a chance and have the tokens. I spent a lot of money getting every card in the game, so i'm just taking my time with the remaining foils.

My strategy has been to buy all foils up to upper mid card level, mostly just to free up the store for the remaining cards im after. Added bonus with having foil openers and mid carders is they can put on a good matches in there opener/mid card matches only.
Once ive got my remaining 12 cards, I will purchase the rest as and when, just to "complete" the set.

The thing I don’t like about the foils is that when it comes to the win/loss records for the year the foil card win/loss is counted separately from the regular card.

I did at first then I decided I don’t really like how they look. I wish they had more different designs for different characters.
Then when they added foil feuds and teams I started to more just because those actually do look pretty cool in foil even if I still don’t love how the single cards look like that.
Then lately I’ve gathered up a lot of money and don’t want foils clogging up the shop while I wait for other things so figured why not.
Plus it’s kind of cool to have more useful versions of some of my lower powered favourites. Like Neon Express!

Since the foil update was announced I've started getting the foils for jobbers, openers and a handful of midcarders...mainly to free up space in the store to get some of the other "normal" cards pop up.

After a year-long hiatus from the game, I recently started up again from scratch and am having an absolute BLAST playing. I am currently in collection mode, trying to purchase every wrestler in the game and unlocking their merch cards before moving onto the foil versions. However, when this bad bro popped up in the store last night, I made an exception ... He has a 66 total draw right out of the box. Fully maxed he will hit 73. Insane. First time I've seen a foil of this caliber in the shop.

I actually base most of my roster around Foil cards (admittedly facilitated by a minor buying spree).
Since foil tag teams and feuds have been added, it makes it where some of my favorite lower tier cards (such as the insectoids or grunge brothers) can challenge for the tag belts without massively harming my potential match ratings.
For example, foil Ronny Believer vs beer can man in a weapons match routinely produces 4-5 star matches in the midcard only spot, and I don't feel like I'm wasting my time by not just focusing on main eventers.

I think I might have missed this. So how do tag teams and feuds work with foil cards? Do the foil versions unlock completely new and separate versions of the regular tag teams/feuds? Or do foil cards just give you another way to unlock the standard tag team/feud cards that already had existed? Can a foil card pair with a base version of a card to create a tag team or feud?

You need foil versions of all involved, so, if you match both grunge brother foils it will unlock a foil tag team. If you then put them in a match against both hotsteppaz foil cards, it will unlock that foil feud. Curious if anyone has unlocked foil valedictorian vs foil thunderbird to see how many stars that adds (+3?!)

The foils add 0.5* so it would be a 2.5* feud card.

The foils add 0.5* so it would be a 2.5* feud card. I’m not sure if it adds .5 stars or if it adds 1/2 of the number of stars (1x1.5=1.5, 2x1.5=3)

HFK vs undermater and Ace vs Hunk both become 2.5's, so I would guess the same applies to thunderbird/strutter and valedictorian.
I just realized, is Thunderbird the only one in the game with two 2* feuds? Heck of a worker.

I buy pretty much all the foils, makes it easier to get higher match and show ratings. Some of the legendary cards I haven’t bought foils for yet, they haven’t shown up in the store often.
