Big Bad Doctor is 90’s version of DR. B... So basically half Mr. T and half Vader correct? I’m confused to why his style changed from Hulk to Rassler? shouldn’t he have stayed as a hulk. Rassler doesn’t really fit for Vader if you ask me. Especially when you have Overload (earthquake) as a Hulk and they were a similar size.

I guess the difference is that Vader could actually, you know, rassle. Dude was one of the most agile big men ever, did moves off the turnbuckle, put on some absolutely epic matches with Sting, Flair, and even got a good match out of Luger at one point IIRC, not to mention his great work in Japan. Earthquake... for a finisher he sat on you. Like a smaller, Canadian Yokozuna. Never had many compelling matches (to me, anyway).

That’s true I guess, I haven’t really seen much of Vader’s earlier career or much of his WCW run as I was Pro WWF when I was a kid and his time there was less than stellar.

John Tenta (Earthquake) was awesome in AJPW, before he went to WWE. He was a sumo wrestler before that.

He just never had that signature feud or match that cemented, yeah, this guy is one of the best. Plus, his runs as Avalanche, the Shark, etc were just awful through no fault of his own.

Yeah, Tenta was used more as a sidekick or backup when a guy his size should have been more of a focus, both in WWF and WCW. Vader on the other hand couldn't have ever been used in that manner until Vince got a hold of him. Vader was just too strong a performer and didn't have to be put over like most men his size, as he could keep up athletically. And IIRC Vader got injured almost immediately after hopping over to WWE and was out for around a year (think they did a "suspension" for attacking then "President" Gorilla Monsoon). So they were kind of upset with having paid to bring him over, especially since Vince took him right before he was supposed to be part of the main event at a WCW War Games. Plus, was WWF(E) really ready for a guy the likes of which gave Stan Hansen a run for his money when worked against stiffly at that time period? Eyeball socket story true or not.
