Different match types.

Sorry for so many questions but I’m still a beginner as I just found this game and am still in the 80’s.

My question is do different match types give better star ratings for matches? For instance do they help the overall product get say three stars for a match like a manager helps boost a wrestler?

So far my average show is only 2 stars and would like to get it bumped to at least three to help save money for new talent. Wonder if this may help.

Match types give extra points, which "can" increase star ratings. Key word there is "can". It also depends on the match type and the wrestlers they benefit. Say if you have a Barbed Wire match but no Ghoulies, then you won't gain anything out of using that match type. It's also important to know that they cost money to not only buy, but to use at all. I personally do not advise match type cards for newer players, as they do not provide enough to actually be worth the financial value, especially if you chose Greenhorn as your commissioner.

Thanks to your guides I have Mr Fantasy in charge of my promotion. Thanks for the info there. Think I get it. Just trying to break through that 2 star rating with basically beginning cards consistently. Can get some shows over, but hit a wall the next week as I can’t repeat Pelvis running the Mic every week. Lol.

I understand your dilemma, as a lot of newer players tend to be in that same position. For the time being, trying to break that star barrier can be a challenge. Instead, it would be best to grind out a few years to get some free tokens, to then use to get better wrestlers to use and get higher ratings that way. It takes time to build a good promotion, but when you do, the end result is quite satisfying to watch.

In the very beginning, your best chances for more than 2* are going to be Arizona Chance on a Dramatic Promo, Starboy v Piranha, and Pelvis on a mic spot. On alternate weeks, I’d work toward getting Cesar Sleaze’s mic skill improved— he maxes at 11 mic, which is a guaranteed 3* segment since he’s a Bigmouth. Also, Dr. B is a beast on the mic and in skits— as a Hulk, the Pumping Iron skit costs you $50, but a maxed out Dr. B with Big Boss Jr is a guaranteed 4* segment.
