On Monday, 04MAR2019, Christopher Pallies AKA King Kong Bundy, died at the age of 61.
Bundy never really got above midcard status, although he did have a feud with Hulk Hogan and main evented WMII in a steel cage match against Hogan for the World Belt. He was fun to watch, especially when he demanded a five count after pinning his opponent. He was often paired with Big John Studd, and my favorite memory of him was an interview that Bundy, Studd, and manager Bobby Heenan gave calling out the Machines. Bundy and Studd were wearing paper bags on their heads, a sort of protest that the Machines were not the "unknown wrestlers" they claimed to be. It was hilarious and King Kong Bundy will be greatly missed.
