Let me do full list I guess...

MC Frosty 100% is gonna be Cena, it is too obvious of a comparison

Brock can easily be a new character, I feel Hammerhead would be better suited as either Rusev or Vladimir Kozlov

Batista is Brute, no doubt about it. Gives him something completely new. As for Orton...either Massacre or an entirely new card. Think Annihilator stays the same due to Terminator 3. Same w/ Arizona Chance on Indiana Jones: Temple of the Crystal Skull

Regal as Brit Buckingham is genius

Darth Invader as Kane definitely makes sense, get Undermaster vs Invader as well.

Grunge Bros split off into just straight being Matt and Jeff Hardy IMO.

Y2J is probably a separate card, Although one that needs to be added soon since he debuted for WCW in ‘96

Not sure on Too Cool... Avery/Romeo/Sumo is funny tho

as for a few others:

Keith Blood becomes Edge with Succubus becoming Lita
Magnus Muscle remains as Kurt Angle, gains main event status w/ bald head
Dragonfly remains as RVD, perhaps dropping to midcard?
2-Zap and Notorious BB become Cryme Tyme...come on, that’d be great
O’Hooligan becomes a manager please (GIVE A SEAN O’HAIRE CARD TO PAIR WITH HIM AS WELL PLEASE)
Dr. B could become Mark Henry? Maybe Booker T?
Ruffian can turn out to be JBL, potentially?
HFK turns face to reflect his (HBK’s) change to Christianity
VTC goes full heel
JSS either becomes a manager or gets a lower-card heel (maybe upper midcard or straight midcard + tag team w/ Brute?)
Cabb could become Minoru Suzuki? Or maybe he becomes Brock Lesnar, who knows

Idk if he’s gonna change old wrestler gimmicks into new ones but it’s possible right. I like the Cryme Tyme, Gladiators turning into that Batista and Orton one would be cool as well. Ruffian is a good JBL with that Varisty jacket also! Kurt Angle!! Aha but is Indiana Jones a big enough hit to mainstay it for a Cena turn?

I feel as though there are some gimmicks that are timeless, like Piranha or Arizona Chance and they'll just never actually change. It just...it makes sense to me.

Need a tough "Cowboy" character in the 90's to become a rich Texan from the 2000's, as JBL started out in WWE, after other places of course, as Justin Hawk Bradshaw, a tough cowboy managed by Dutch Mantel (who also needs a version of a card btw) who later become the big Texas businessman based on the real life fact that JBL has a degree in economics and was/is very successful in investing his money.

You gotta think about who was on top through the 00s to structure the cards at main event level.

Ace and Hunk should be done by 04 and be full time legends. VTC cans probably ride out most of the decade along with Magnus and Slashmaster.

You'll want your "Cena" at around 03 and a Randy Orton type guy around 04. Your Batista at around 03. Your JBL at around 05.

Assuming you get an Eddie Guerrero equivalent in at around 04 which is when your Brock equivalent should done. You might need your Edge, Jeff Hardy and CM Punk equivalents along the way.

The characters in the game don't need to have the same active years as their real life main inspirations.

E.G. The Rock(the character) made his debut in 1997 but The Hunk is active from 1990-1999. André the Giant died in 1993 but Pierre the Enormous is active until 1994

Yeaa 2000s im just gonna consider it the era after the attitude era with all those names BTC becoming a Main Eventer, Undermaster cats is still relevant as it’s one of the top cards in game and remains so.. gotta give the Edge card a Main Event push and possibly introduce a BookerT card possibly Ezekiel Soul? And how could I forget Eddie Papi Guerrero! Hmmph how about Juan Tijuana even though he has a wrestler parody already.. btw do we have any of those.. Mr. T turned Vader is one of the top of my head, and do we push for TNA talents like the Abyss and X Divison for 00s or 10-19?

True but at the same time you have to keep in mind that you had a lot more guys as main event guys in the 2000s, not to mention a lot more world title holders as they had 2 belts for most of the decade (3 for a short while if you count the ECW title.

Also the number of midcard guys from the 90s became world title holders in the 2000s is pretty big.

I'm just saying that if you want certain guys represented and at the levels they were in real life you risk overstacking the main event.

But you are correct in that the time frame doesn't have to be what it was in reality.... I'm just not sure if you can do the same with their levels as easily.

The early 2000s are when comic book superhero movies started to get popular, although the start of what we know as the current MCU happening towards the end of the decade. It would be cool to see a Blade or Spider-Man parody, but there 100% has to be a Wolverine. I mean we already have a perfect Beast Parody in Ruffian. It wouldn’t be that far of a stretch to see an X-Men trio with a Professor X manager.

Aside from that, I mentioned some other pop culture ideas in Herman Potter, Waldo Dynamo, and MC Shady 😂
