Just wonderd how everyone goes about booking there feds, wether people have self imposed rules to follow, go with the flow, or just a mixture of both. Intrested to see how other people go about there games in hope of a bit of inspiration in mine.
I currently am booking with the following rules/guidelines-
1.The winner of the Janaury battle royal gets a title shot at Champ Clash. The winner of the battle royal gets the highest push card (except screwjob job) either Hulk Up/Crooked Ref attached to him up untill after the main event of Champ Clash. Whoever is the champ after the match continues with the push card attached to them till the next Janaury battle royal. This tends to add a bit of randomness with the lottery of the battle royal winner, and also tends to have longer title riegns for the champ. After 2 years as champ I take away the push card.
2.The winner of March Madness gets the 2nd best push card, roar of crowd/sneak attack attached to them, and gets tv title shot at Champ Clash. Winner continues with card attached untill following March Madness.I do try within the competition to push whoever I fancy.
3.The winner of Cruiserwiegt Classic gets the 3rd best push card, dirty tactics/honourable fight, and becomes the number 1 contender for next title shot.
4.The winner of the Tag Team Invitational becomes number 1 contender, As by now am out of push cards, I use the rule that whoever they face in a match, only they can use there Tag Team flavour card to give them the edge. In the title match I allow both teams to use there tag team flavours.
5.I try and keep a few openers/midcards/weaker tag teams strong on tv shows, for when an impromtu title shot comes up, they are the fall guy while my main contender is saved for PPVs.

6.At beyond Wardome I try and fill with the biggest feuds of the year, either feud cards or imaginary. Also at this PPV the loser of the World Title match at Champ Clash gets a rematch.
7.For PPVs I try and go with the theme of the show, Halloween for example casket matches, barb wire matches, creepy skits to give the ghoulies a boost for the night. Monster Mayhem is for hulks (testosterone), Summer Smash for specimens (suns out, guns out), Red, White and Blue for patriots. Any suggestions on the other PPVs would be appreciated.
8.The Ladies are sadly neglected, Not sure of the top of my head which months both the womens only PPVs are, but I am sure that one of them is in December and would rather have Beyond the Wardome tbh.

9.All new wrestlers start with a skit then mic spot and finally there first match (a sqaush match), before being put into there first real feud.
10.Im towards the final run in collecting the cards, only have about 30 foils to collect, so pretty much only use foils now but when I do have a new normal card he/she is used a jobber within there division untill maxed out, then there retired for the rest of the calender year untill I own there foil, and they come back stronger on the main roster.

I'm still collecting cards so I pretty much just book to raise stats until PPVs. With PPV, I look at records and use that and a combination of who I like (looking at you Jet Set Strutter).

Part of me wishes I was still collecting, would of done things so differantly, instead of rushing to collect them all. Playing organically is the way forward.

Yeh I also enjoy the collecting part of the game, however when I say I would of done things differantly, I wish that I had slowly built up my collection going through jobbers/openers, midcard first, then once collected all, going for the higher value cards. Would of been pretty cool to introduce new cards into an eco system of lower based cards that have had there success as the company grows on to bigger and better things. Then once maxed out all cards, start again with foils. Seems more organic to me.

The most important rule is that the World Championship is protected at all costs. I don't want the title to change hands too often, so the Screwjob card is used frequently, especially when the title match isn't on a P4V. The championship matches on weekly programming are usually between the champion and a stablemate of whoever he is feuding with at that moment.
The winner of Battle Royale gets a Championship match at March Madness. The March Madness winner gets the match at Summer Smash. The winner of the cruiserweight, tag-team & women's tournaments get a title shot at some point in the future.
Since I book Tournament of Queens, Battle Royale is the most important show of the year.
The Battle Royale match's participants are about 6-8 top contenders that I could see as World champion and the rest of the field is filled out with lower card guys that are currently in programs or that need a point in Skill. This way I usually end up with a winner that I like. This tactic has only failed twice: Fireball won in 1985 and Mad Arab in 1987.
Monster Mayhem is Extreme Rules, where every match has a stipulation.
I usually try to push Ghoulies right before Halloween Hellraiser. I just started the 90s and I'm going to try to create an undefeated streak for Undermaster. I already tried with Slashmaster in the 80s, but he's terrible at Casket matches.
I usually book Ladies Night in July, but in 1989 my World championship match was Hammerhead (C) VS Buzzsaw II in a Flag Match, so it would have been wrong not to book Red, White & Blue Bash.

I tend to go with the flow for alot of shows. I do try to create world title feuds for ppvs though. Similar to what slashmaster said i do try to protect my world champion at all costs. He usually doesn't wrestle much on weekly shows but ill put him in skits and all that. Maybe a tag match with another feud ill have going on. I don't like hotshotting the title from person to person even a transitional champion will have a solid 3 or so month reign. As for the tournaments and battle royal those are usually number 1 contender matches. I forgot who said it but i read a while back someone uses the tag team tourney as a lethal lottery and I LOVE that idea I use it like every other year

Love the Lethal Lottery idea. I might give it a try this year, since I've got my tag team scene sorted for forseeable future

One of my rules is that Feud cards can only be used at P4V’s its like the talent are giving extra effort for the big show.

On a side note...
A new rule I just learned is never book Valkyrie because she/he literally spoils any good match I set or demolishes any lower ranked wrestlers.
