I highly doubt this but what if it was an ultimate customisation thingy. Like in TEW, you can create your own brand, championships, shows etc.
As I said, I very very very highly doubt it would happen, but what if...

2000s update seems likely, but I’m hoping it’s a fundamental change to the gameplay. Something to make it more of a booker-sim with more variables and strategy involved. It does get monotonous when you are on your 10th play through, though all the updates have kept things fresh! I think signing wrestlers/cards to contracts would add a huge element of strategy and excitement to the game. Instead of buying Dude Brohan indefinitely, you sign him to a two year contract. Any wrestlers you don’t sign are fair game for the other promotions, and their ratings/attendance will reflect that. Now you’re competing with the other promotions in the game and maybe there’s a way you eventually can run them out of business and take over their territory, with the ultimate goal of taking over all the promotions by the time you finish the game. Conversely, if you don’t play your cards right, another promotion can run you out of business, game over. This is literally what I have been wanting. I love this game but some type of competitive/strategic aspect would be awesome. Gets old just booking matches after a while.

I've played literally thousands of hours of TEW in my life, and that sounds like that would be crazy. Amazing, but crazy.

Honestly, as much as this dev team puts into this game, the surprise could be a Gobbeldy Gooker and I wouldn't complain.

You know....there are enough "gimmicks" in both wrestling, media and pop culture associated with certain times of the year that it could be feasible to have special releases each year around those times or...if you want a real challenge...have it so they only become available for certain months of any given year.
For example:
- special ghoulies that only become available in October - "winter cards" that are only available between November and January - the Gobbeldy Gooker parody that branana06 suggested available only in November - some Irish gimmick available only during March.
Now perhaps this would work better with flavor cards rather than the wrestlers...and they could either be purchasable or not purchasable and only available during those periods.

I am definitely hoping for some sort of additional game mechanic that gives us a bit more control, or maybe something that makes feuds/storylines and the like a bit more concrete, with actual in-game impacts.
Mr. Fantasy mentioned that they are working on automated award winners using things like win loss records, stars, etc... I'd LOVE to see something where it tracked who was wrestling who, and "showed you" which programs were working/popular, and which weren't. And if you kept developing ones that were on the rise, they would get hotter and hotter.
For example... maybe the game tracks who wrestles who, and once two wrestlers are involved in two matches against each other within a month, including at a PPV, and each reaches a certain star rating (maybe 3?) the game registers this as a "program." Then, when the wrestlers do NOT wrestle each other for three shows straight, it "forgets" the program.
So let's say you have Flawless One and Devin Van Winkle wrestle at a regular event, and then a PPV match that month, and they get two 3 star matches... the game would register this as a "program."
Then, when you booked matches between them again, you could get a message (like the "these two just wrestled and fans are upset" message) that says "The fans are really enjoying this program! +1/2 star to their next match!"
And maybe the enjoyment factor could be increased by stuff like skits or mic spots using one of the wrestlers involved, or a good variety of matches, or stuff like that.
So if it recognized that Flawless One got a Mic spot and Devin Van Winkle got a Skit spot either on the same show or one show apart, the "program" would get even better... maybe next time you pair them up you get "The fans are really enjoying this program! +1 star to their next match!"
Maybe the next show they are both involved in a tag match that "continues" the program, and you get +1.5 stars in their next match because of the variety.
And then maybe at the next PPV they have an "I Quit" match, and since it is a PPV match AND a Special Match you get a +2 star for their next match.
But then, at a certain point (maybe after X number of matches, or after a certain number of "special" matches, which really should be used as the "program ending" sort of matches) the fans begin to get sick of the program, and it starts to get FEWER stars.
So if Flawless One and Devin Van Winkle had the I Quit match, and then a Tables Match at the next PPV, and then a Flaming Ring match at the NEXT PPV, you would start getting "The fans are getting bored by this program! -1 star to their next match." message, which would continue to pile up until you had them NOT wrestle each other for a while, allowing the game to "forget" the program. Because really, how often do we see programs between two wrestlers stretch over three or four or five PPVs?
This would be great, because it would reflect what we, as the players, are imaging, while also minimizing mix/maxing in the game (i.e. always rotating between four particular guys who get really high rated matches, or always using particular special matches over and over) and reflecting a bit more of "real world" booking.
So, in practice...
Flawless One vs Devin Van Winkle, 1 v 1, Week 2, 3 stars Flawless One vs Devin Van Winkle, 1 v 1 regular match, PPV, 3 stars (game recognizes "program" - +.5 stars next match) Flawless One and Mr. Tycoon vs Devin Van Winkle and Damon Van Winkle, 2 v 2, Week 1, 3.5 stars (game recognizes "variety" +1 star next match) Flawless One in a skit, Week 2, (game recognizes skit as part of "program", +1.5 star next match) Devin Van Winkle in a mic spot, Week 3 (game recognizes mic spot as part of "program", +2 star next match) Flawless One vs Devin Van Winkle, 1 v 1 Barbed Wire match, PPV, 5 stars Flawless One vs Devin Van Winkle, 1 v 1, Week 1, 3 stars (game recognizes "program" has gone on too long, -.5 stars next match.)
And so on.

And so on. I really like this idea except it technically could be used as a way to have near perfect shows if you was just using say 5 groups of wrestlers continually. Not that that would be a bad thing but it would be easy money to manipulate the shows to max income.

Yeah, I suppose it could... you could always mess with the bonuses, of course... but in a way, would that be a bad thing? It’s sort of what happens in real life... they run a program to increase interest and sales, you know? I’m sure the devs could look at the concept and mess with it a bit to minimize taking advantage.

I would seriously put ALL my chips into the Devs adding the one and only Shockmaster to the game.
So much talent is impossible to overlook.

hopefully it is a massive addition of the most requested guys for the 80s and 90s tbh. Like, that's all I want, just give us the guys that have been most requested

I'm hoping for something more fundamental, in terms of gameplay.

If they just made it so each show was 5 segments (with the 4 purchasable as well) and I could pick and choose what went where I'd eat that all up. Plus it's beneficial for the Devs, keep the prices on the title matches as they are 😉 just saying. Either way, love the game and everything that comes with it.
