Not necessarily my best storyline, but it is one I'm quite happy with, as I kept it going for a year without really knowing where it would go at first.
Monday Night Live, January 1990
Throughout the 1980s the tag team of Zap and Boombox, collectively known as the B-Boys have tried to win the R'n'R Tag Team Championships, but for an entire decade these prizes have eluded them. Now, at the beginning of this new year Boombox, now going by the monnicker Notorious BB has decided to go after the TV championship on his own.
Zap, or 2-Zap as he is now known, doesn't want the team to disband, so they decide they will have one final match against eachother. If 2-Zap wins the team stays together, if BB wins he is free to pursue his own goals. The two have a friendly match that is won by BB. After the match the two shake hands and part ways.
Sports Entertainment, January 1990
2-Zap is the sole survivor of a 6 man elimination tag team match, which makes him the new number one contender for the cruiserweight championship, currently held by Arizona Chance.
After the match Notorious BB is interviewed by Honest Al, but is then viciously attacked by Dizzy Lixx and Killer Klown.
Weekend Attitude, January 1990
Honest Al interviews Reptile Ranger and Red Pirate Rogers, two of Arizona Chance's best friend and greatest allies, to get their opinions on tonight's championship match. Just like last week Dizzy Lixx and Killer Klown appear from out of nowhere to attack the two interviewees.
In the main event Arizona Chance will face 2-Zap for the Cruiserweight Championship. After the ambush at the beginning of the show Arizona has no one to back him up. Strangely enough there is someone in 2-Zap's corner: the Gargoyle.
Arizona is more than familiar with the Gargoyle and the wrestlers managed by him, so he approaches his opponent with great caution. 2-Zap and Arizona wrestle a clean match in the opening minutes, after which Gargoyle starts involving himself in the match. Neither wrestler seems amused by Gargoyle's actions, but they carry on wrestling regardless. Gargoyle continues to distract Arizona, which leads to a roll-up victory by the NEW Cruiserweight Champion: 2-Zap.
Battle Royal, January 1990
Three mysterious figures appear backstage, all of them wear suits and shades. The one in the middle who appears to be the leader starts speaking. He cannot reveal his real name, but his codename is "X". His partners are known by the codenames "Ezekiel" and "Vegas". They are the Agency and they have been tasked with the investigation of the attacks on wrestlers over the last couple of weeks.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dizzy and the Klown are quick to admit that they were instructed to attack the other wrestlers by someone else. The Agency start their investigation by trying to get answers out of their prime suspect: 2-Zap. The new cruiserweight champion seems like the obvious culprit seems he seemed to have gained the most from it. The fact that the Freak Show keeps backing him up, despite 2-Zap's protestations, doesn't do him any favors either. It takes a singles victory and some strong words by 2-Zap over the Detective to convince X that he has the wrong person in his crosshairs.
Detective X and his English liason Herman Nerd decide to go after the Freak Show again to gain some more answers. Ezekiel and Vegas are tasked with protecting the returning Notorious BB. Although Detective X no longer thinks 2-Zap has anything to do with the attacks, BB isn't convinced. 2-Zap knows that he cannot fight these three opponents on his own, so he enlists the help of some fanboys: the Hotsteppaz.
Eventually 2-Zap & BB get back on the same page, re-uniting as a tag-team. The Hotsteppaz aren't happy with this, as they are west-coast wannabe rappers, therefore hating BB. Ezekiel and Vegas are still determined to beat the Cruiserweight Champion, even if that means going through the person they were tasked with protecting. This leads to all of these teams going at eachother in various matches. Eventually a fourth team would join the chaos as the Freak Show get attacked by Def Row after revealing some more information to the Secret Agents.
After beating the answers out of Dizzy Lixx and Killer Klown another suspect is revealed: Keith Blood. Keith and X embark on a lenghty feud, but the longer it goes on, the more it seems that the Kannibal isn't the mastermind behind these attacks either. It seems like someone is trying to frame him and Keith might have an idea of who this might be. He joins X and Herman Nerd as a consultant as they go back after the Freak Show.
Killer Klown and the new Cruiserweight Champion Dizzy Lixx are joined by Dark Mauler this time around. Keith is left facing Dark Mauler on his own at some point, as the Secret Agents also have to deal with their corrupt former partners: the Smooth Criminals. Keith beats the Mauler, who whispers something to him that confirms what Keith already seemed to know. In the go-home show before Beyond Wardome Kannibal Keith tells Detective X to show up at the P4V where the real culprit will reveal himself.
Beyond Wardome, December 1990
Detective X is in the ring. Normally he seems unfazed by anything, but he appears a bit nervous. The light are dimmed, candles surround the ring and there is a casket next to the announcers' table. We hear a gong and a gust of wind blows out all the candles. We hear a creaking sound as the casket slowly opens. Out steps a terrifying figure: 7 foot tall, dressed in tattered rags and he has greasy black hair partially hiding his horrificaly burnt and disfigured face.
The Undermaster has arrived.
Undermaster stares a hole through the person in the ring. He didn't want to face Detective X in this match. Everything that happened this year was supposed to lead to him getting his revenge on his former tag-partner Keith Blood, but this pathetic man would have to do. Undermaster squashes Detective X and throws his lifeless body into the casket. The Detective would never be seen again.
In 1991 Undermaster will finally get his revenge on Kannibal Keith.
